Chapter 386: Dark fire vs Lightning! - Part 2

As the old shaman slammed into the earth, the sheer force of the impact created a small crater, a testament to the power of Danny's strike.

Turning his attention to the three-eyed Crow below him, Danny focused his energy. His legs crackled with the electric surge of lightning, encasing them in a formidable shield of thunderous power. With a swift and decisive motion, he brought his electrified limbs crashing down upon the Crow's back.

A piercing screech of agony tore through the air as the Crow felt the full brunt of Danny's lightning-infused attack. However, due to the significant difference in strength between them, the Crow managed to stabilize itself quickly, its injuries not as severe as those inflicted upon the old shaman who still lay incapacitated in the crater.

But before the Crow could fully recover, it was struck again, this time by a crackling surge of blue light.

It was Aquila, the Black-feathered Lightning Eagle, joining the battle with a display of its own electrifying power. Being of the equal stage, the Crow bore the brunt of Aquila's attack, sustaining even greater damage this time.

The majestic bird hurled the Crow toward the ground with tremendous force, sending it crashing through the dense forest, its impact scattering trees and dirt in its wake.

The Devil Cultivator, consumed by his own arrogance, had underestimated the physical prowess of his opponent, allowing Danny, who was also a Body Cultivator, to catch the old shaman off guard with his lightning-imbued strike.

This brief exchange revealed to Danny the exact extent of the old shaman's power. The old shaman's cultivation strength had reached the peak stage of the Elemental Gathering Realm, a formidable level of mastery.

It was evident that the old shaman possessed the ability to enhance and augment the strength of the three-eyed crow with his Dark Qi, which puzzled Danny. Why was the old shaman able to do that? Why would the old shaman's aura feel so vile and disgusting to him?

As Danny contemplated the peculiar abilities of the old shaman, he couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling that there was something more at play.

The aura emanating from the shaman felt repugnant and tainted, unlike anything Danny had encountered before. It was as if the darkness within the old shaman was intertwined with the very essence of his being.

Danny spoke through their mental connection, addressing his trusted ally, "If my guess is correct, then the shaman must possess an object or artifact that grants him the power to enhance the three-eyed crow. It's the only explanation for his ability to manipulate and strengthen the demon beast with his Dark Qi."

The Spirit of the heavenly Book bound to Danny responded with a tone of concern. "You may be onto something, Danny. It's not uncommon for powerful cultivators to possess artifacts or talismans that augment their abilities. We must remain vigilant and find a way to neutralize his source of power."

"Aquila, your primary task is to keep the crow occupied. If you can eliminate it, then do so, but your safety is paramount," Danny instructed, his voice carrying a mix of authority and concern.

The majestic lightning eagle huffed indignantly, feeling underestimated by the suggestion that it might struggle against the three-eyed crow. Through their mental link, Aquila replied, "I assure you, I can easily dispatch that black birdy if need be.

Danny nodded appreciatively, acknowledging Aquila's confidence and loyalty. The lightning eagle's formidable strength and lightning-based attacks made it a formidable adversary, but it was essential to ensure its safety in the face of a powerful opponent.

With a swift leap, Danny dismounted from the back of his loyal companion, landing near the crater where the old shaman had fallen. Aquila, the lightning eagle, soared into the air, ready to engage the recovering three-eyed crow.

As Danny approached the crater, a sudden tremor shook the ground beneath him. The earth quivered and rumbled with an unsettling energy, as if in response to some unseen force. His senses heightened, Danny's brows furrowed in deep concentration, sensing the impending danger that lurked within.

In an explosive display, the crater erupted once again, unleashing a surge of dark and malevolent aura that engulfed the surroundings. Danny's heart raced as he felt the weight of this unprecedented darkness pressing upon him, its insidious tendrils reaching out with malicious intent.

The intensity of the aura was overwhelming, surpassing anything Danny had encountered in his battles thus far. It exuded an undeniable sense of foreboding, a twisted amalgamation of power and corruption that sent chills down his spine. It was as if a long-suppressed malevolence had been unleashed, hungry for chaos and destruction.

"KEKEKE! YOU ARE A BODY CULTIVATOR, I CAN'T BELIEVE MY-," the old shaman's voice trailed off as his gaze locked onto Danny, a malevolent glimmer dancing in his eyes. "-Luck! Kakakakak!" His laughter reverberated through the dense forest, a chilling sound that sent a shiver down Danny's spine. The sinister tone in the old shaman's voice spoke volumes about his twisted delight in their encounter.

As the dust settled, Danny's gaze fixed upon the old shaman, who now stood amidst a swirling vortex of dark spirits. Veils of ethereal figures, tormented and wailing in agony, encircled the shaman's body. Their spectral forms writhed and contorted, their essence concentrated mostly around the area of the chest where Danny had landed his powerful punch.

A mix of shock and curiosity washed over Danny as he realized that the old shaman was harnessing these dark souls for healing purposes. It seemed that the malevolent spirits acted as a conduit, channeling their dark energy to mend the shaman's injured body. It was a disturbing sight, a macabre fusion of darkness and vitality.

Danny's mind raced with questions. How was the old shaman able to command these dark souls? What twisted rituals or forbidden arts had granted him control over such malevolent forces? The answers eluded him, buried within the depths of the old shaman's secrets.

As the old shaman continued to revel in his unholy healing, a sudden shift in his demeanor caught Danny off guard. With a wicked grin, the shaman raised his hands, palms facing Danny, and unleashed a piercing scream that shattered the tranquility of the forest.
