Chapter 1247: FINAL PARTY (V)
Chapter 1247: FINAL PARTY (V)
LUO YAN reached up and pinched Shen Ji Yun's cheeks. "If I didn't care, I wouldn't have followed you two and listened in," he said, tugging at the other's face. "I'm not gonna get mad just because someone confessed to you. Not when I know you'd never cheat. The only time I'd actually get jealous is if I thought you're attracted to them. Is that really what you want?"
Shen Ji Yun immediately shook his head, pressing Luo Yan's hands tighter against his own face. "That's impossible. I will only be ever attracted to you." Then, with complete seriousness, he added, "I'm a certified Yan-sexual."
Luo Yan blinked at Shen Ji Yun's dead-serious expression. The way he said "Yan-sexual" as if it was a solemn vow. A snort escaped him first, then he burst out laughing, clutching Shen Ji Yun's shoulders as his whole body shook with giggles. The contrast between that stone-faced delivery and the ridiculous words was just too perfect.
"Oh Brother Ji Yun... how can you be so adorable?"
Then he leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to the other's lips.
Shen Ji Yun stared at him for a while, as if waiting for him to say something more. When he didn't, the closest expression to a pout appeared on Shen Ji Yun's face.
"Aren't you going to say that you're Yun-sexual?"
Luo Yan once again laughed at the unexpected humorous comeback. "Yes, I am a certified Yun-sexual."
A pleased smile finally appeared on Shen Ji Yun's lips.
Luo Yan looped his arm through Shen Ji Yun's, and the two of them walked toward the palace.
"The college entrance examination results will come out in four or five days, right?" Shen Ji Yun said, changing the subject. "Are you feeling nervous?"
"Hmm... not really. I'm confident I'll pass. The only question is whether my points will be enough to get into T University," Luo Yan answered with a shrug.
And he wasn't just saying that to boast. He'd studied hard, after all, tackling every question methodically with calmness. So yeah, he was truly confident about passing. The only real worry was whether his scores would be high enough.
"I'm sure you'll be accepted at T University," Shen Ji Yun assured him.
Luo Yan raised his brow in amusement. "You're not just saying that because you want me to attend the same university as you, right?"
"Of course I want us at the same university," Shen Ji Yun admitted, his voice softening. "It'll be my last year before graduation. I want to experience a normal campus life with you before then."
Luo Yan looked up at Shen Ji Yun, a small smile playing on his lips. "I want that too."
They walked together in comfortable silence for a while.
"Are you planning to stay in the dorms?" Shen Ji Yun asked after a moment.
"Maybe during the military training," Luo Yan answered. "But after that, I'll probably stay with Uncle Chen and his family."
The military training that all freshmen in universities go through was a mandatory short-term training program that usually lasted from 3 to 4 weeks at the start of the academic year.
It would be a hassle to commute during that time even if someone drove him to campus. But after that, staying at Uncle Chen's was already a predetermined fate. It would probably be the only way for his father to agree to let him leave S City. He was already slowly getting his father used to the idea that he might go to B City for university. But that didn't mean it would be easier for his father to let him go. So, staying with his uncle's family was the best choice.
Besides, he wasn't really against staying with his uncle's family. Mainly because he wanted more time with his grandfather. During their last visit, he'd noticed his grandfather sleeping more often. He didn't want to assume the worst, but just in case, he wanted to make his grandfather happy while he still could. Living in S City made that hard, but being in B City would change that.
Then he realized Shen Ji Yun hadn't replied. Luo Yan looked over and saw the slight frown on his face. "What's wrong, Brother Ji Yun?"
"I—I was actually hoping that... that we could live together," Shen Ji Yun said, clearly struggling to get the words out and visibly embarrassed.
A wide smile crossed Luo Yan's lips. "You're much bolder than I thought, Brother Ji Yun."
Shen Ji Yun stammered but then clamped his lips together. Luo Yan was sure that if they were in reality, the other's whole face would be as red as a ripe tomato right now.
He chuckled. "I'd love to live with you too. But you know how things are right now. Before we take that step, our families should know about us first. Especially my father."
Shen Ji Yun winced at the idea of telling Uncle Tian about them. He could practically picture how that conversation would go. His own family wasn't a concern. To him, family was just his uncle and paternal grandmother. Uncle Yi Mu already knew and supported them fully. And he had no doubt his grandmother would give them her blessing as well.
After his uncle came out of the closet, his grandmother, as expected, didn't have much of a negative reaction. She was surprised, of course. But after the shock passed, she just hugged Uncle Yi Mu and told him everything was going to be alright. A complete 180 from his grandfather, who wanted to outright disown Uncle Yi Mu. If not for the scandal it would cause the Shen family, Shen Ji Yun had no doubt his grandfather would have done exactly that.
He shook his head. There was no point thinking about that now. He clasped Luo Yan's hand, bringing it to his lips to kiss the back of it.
"I know," he said in response to Luo Yan's words. "Maybe once we tell him about us, we can get married next."
Luo Yan blinked once, then twice, before bursting into laughter again. The sound echoed through the quiet garden as he shook his head.
"Yeah, let's do that," he said in a playful tone, closing their distance and planting a sweet kiss on Shen Ji Yun's lips.
