The Return Of The God Level Assassin

Chapter 1267: A GROWN SON

Chapter 1267: A GROWN SON

AS they began eating, Eclipse started talking excitedly. He told them all about what was happening in the kitsune village and what he had seen recently. Listening to him, Luo Yan once again felt that Arcadia was more than just a game. It felt like a real world in another dimension. The NPCs here kept living their lives even when no players were around. He felt amazed all over again by how Moonlight Media had created such a living, breathing world.

"And I think Rowan has a thing for Uncle Dusk."

The moment Eclipse said that, Luo Yan almost choked on his tea. If this were real life, he would cough uncontrollably right now. He looked at Shen Ji Yun and saw the other eating calmly with no change in expression. Sometimes, Luo Yan envied how the other could keep his face so neutral no matter the situation.

He set down his teacup and smiled at Eclipse. "What makes you say that?"

"You know how I've been trying to set up Uncle Dusk with my aunt?" Eclipse began, his voice full of energy. "Well, every time I try to invite Uncle Dusk to the kitsune village, Rowan always interferes. Either he invites himself along, or he finds a way to pull Uncle Dusk away. It's so obvious he doesn't want Uncle Dusk to be alone with my aunt. What else could that mean? It means he has his own designs on Uncle Dusk!"

Luo Yan tried hard not to laugh. Even though Eclipse was complaining to him right now, the fact that he was calling Rowan by his actual name instead of 'that red lizard' showed that he had grown closer to the red dragon.

"Maybe Rowan is just lonely. You know he has no other friends besides your uncle," he suggested. "Next time you invite Dusk to the kitsune village, you should keep Rowan company instead. If he still tries to interfere, then maybe he really does like your uncle."

Eclipse's face scrunched up, as if the idea of spending time with Rowan was as unpleasant as eating bitter melon. "Fine, I will try that. But what should I do if he actually likes Uncle Dusk?"

"Do you really dislike the idea of him liking Dusk that much?" Luo Yan asked, clearly amused.

"It's not that. I just… I just want Uncle Dusk to be with Aunt Yuki." Eclipse looked down and mumbled, "Then it would feel like I have parents."

Luo Yan had not expected Eclipse to say that. Even though the other now looked like a young man, he could still picture Eclipse as a child. If this were his younger form, Eclipse would surely pout and sulk right now. But in his current form, he just looked genuinely sad.

Not liking seeing Eclipse look so down, Luo Yan reached out and gently pinched his cheek. "Listen, even if your aunt and uncle don't end up together, they will always be your aunt and uncle. That won't ever change. So even without the kind of relationship you're hoping for, they are already like a second set of parents to you. And don't forget, your Captain and I are here for you too. At this point, we're practically your third set of parents. So there's really no need to be sad."

Hearing that seemed to lift Eclipse's spirits. His face brightened with a wide smile. "Okay!"

Shen Ji Yun, who had been listening quietly, nearly dropped the pickled radish he was holding with his chopsticks. He glanced at Eclipse. How had he and Luo Yan suddenly gained a fully grown son? Not that he was complaining. He had, after all, watched Eclipse 'grow up'. And as long as he was Luo Yan's husband, it really did not matter if their 'son' was already this big. So he simply continued eating without saying anything.

After that, Eclipse kept talking about whatever he found interesting. Luo Yan also shared some stories about what he had been doing at school. Just as they finished their meal, Luo Yan suddenly received a private message. When he checked it, he saw it was from Yu Jiao.

Vulcan: [Yan Yan, can you come to my shop today? Only if you're free, of course.]

After reading Yu Jiao's message, he told Shen Ji Yun he needed to go meet Yu Jiao. Eclipse complained and asked to come along, but Shen Ji Yun quickly suggested that Eclipse accompany him somewhere else instead, which immediately caught the fox's interest. Luo Yan gave Shen Ji Yun a grateful glance. With that settled, he teleported directly to Yu Jiao's blacksmith shop.

He looked up at the familiar two story building and saw the sign that read 'Forge Etna'. He was just about to walk inside when he remembered how the shop was usually full of players looking for weapons and items. So he stopped and opened his Items Tab to take out a mask. This mask was not a normal one. It had a special effect that completely hid the wearer's appearance from others.

Ever since winning the finals of the Arcadia Cup, he found himself surrounded by other players whenever he went to places in the game that were popular. He had thought the excitement would die down after a week or two, but instead people's enthusiasm only seemed to grow more intense. He finally understood why Shen Ji Yun had an alternate account.

Luo Yan did not want to cause a scene in Yu Jiao's shop, so the mask was very useful. He finally walked inside and just as he expected, the shop was full of players. He sent Yu Jiao a message telling her he had arrived. He mentioned he was wearing a plain mask so she might not recognize him right away.

A short time later, the door to the stairs leading to the second floor opened and Yu Jiao's handsome avatar stepped out. Luo Yan did not wait for her to search for him and walked directly over to her.

Yu Jiao looked surprised by his approach, so he quickly lowered his voice and said, "Jiao Jiao, it's me."
