SU YUQI noticed her father was still waiting for her answer. She pushed her thoughts aside and said, "As long as you did not bring him with us for some hidden agenda, then it is fine with me."

"Of course not! You know I don't agree with what the family elders want. While I think Ah Feng is a good young man, I would never force you to marry him just to please the family. Your feelings will always matter most in such decisions."

Her father spoke with firm conviction, his voice carrying both warmth and resolve as he looked directly at her.

A small smile touched her lips. "But the elders won't give up on wanting Ning Feng to marry into our family. I suppose it's my fault for not being talented enough to meet their expectations."

This did not bother her very much. Her parents had always made her feel she was good enough just as she was. Besides, it was true she did not have her father's natural talent for painting. She had never been interested in becoming an artist, anyway. Her passions lay in a completely different direction.

So whenever there was a family gathering, and the elders criticized her, she never took it to heart. Why should she? Their words could not change who she was or what she wanted. Her confidence in herself was too strong to be shaken by their disapproval. This unshakable self-worth was likely one positive result of her parents' unwavering support and belief in her.

"Don't you ever say that," her father insisted, his voice full of conviction. "You are incredibly talented, Qiqi. Those old men are just too blind to see it."

Su Yuqi chuckled softly. "Don't worry about it, Dad. I never paid much attention to what they said, anyway. I know exactly what I'm worth. Nothing they say can change that."

"Good," her father said, his eyes crinkling with a warm smile. "And remember this, Qiqi, your dad and mom plan on living for a very long time. We'll definitely outlive those old fools. So in the end, their opinions don't matter at all. You just focus on doing what makes you happy. Your mother and I will always be here to support you."

Her father's words filled Su Yuqi's heart with warmth. They even made her temporarily forget the troubling thoughts that had been occupying her mind just moments before.

Luo Jin dried his hair while walking out of his bathroom. He had just finished a workout in their home gym and had taken a quick shower afterward. Besides the household staff, he was alone in the large house.
