Chapter 2935: A Troubled Newcomer II
Chapter 2935: A Troubled Newcomer II
Meanwhile, in one area of influence of the Celestial Path, three level 127 True Celestials were positioned around the entrance to a cave at the deepest point of a large submerged mountain range.
In this place where the light was limited, even considering the various sources of light from the Upper Realm that illuminated almost the entire dimension, the energy, and laws were most concentrated, making the area difficult to bear even for Celestials.
But each of the three were not just ordinary Celestials, but thrones holders!
Even with the pressure against them, they were all on standby, watching their surroundings still while the fourth of them, now out of sight, cultivated the energy of the surroundings. Not by chance, pulses of energy were coming from inside the cave, making the area even more dangerous than the surroundings.
In this dark place, Minos was sitting on his throne, eyes closed as he absorbed the surplus laws that were available in this region. Focused on different planes of the realm, he was filtering the surrounding energy, absorbing it into his foundations and directing the rest to his domains outside the Upper Realm.
To his misfortune, the Spiritual World was still beyond his reach. After all, it was a domain of another Entitled Deity. As such, he couldn't send the surplus power to his home world, or rather, he couldn't do so until he had rights to that region.
That was something he intended to change in the future!
In the days that had passed since he entered the realm, Minos had learned several truths about the dimension and separation of powers of each throne holder. Entitled deities like him not only had to maintain the stability of the Upper Realm and Hell, but also the stable differences between these dimensions and the infinite planes, they could go further and nurture areas of interest, use such domains as bargaining chips or even compete over the sovereignty of different planes.
To say that the Entitled Deities gambled with the lives of billions of living beings was no nonsense!
In recent history alone, there have been several cases in which galaxies, planes and universes have been put up for grabs, bets and guarantees of payment.
Some Deities took the relationship with their domains more seriously, but most saw them as part of their patrimony. For the right price or for a simple matter of entertainment, the fate of entire planes and all life on them could be decided!
But now, cultivating in this convergence zone, one of the many areas where the laws were most significantly concentrated, Minos had no such matters on his mind. His focus was on fulfilling his function, but also strengthening himself.
After only a few hours of experience cultivating the power of the dimension, he had noticed progress, already feeling he could move forward.
This was incredible. Considering how difficult his most recent journey had been and how hard he had had to work to grow to his current level, improving in just a few hours seemed extraordinary and unfair to those unable to access such a chance. But there was still something more he needed to break through to level 126.
While he was searching for that something more, his three allies—two of them members of Devdar's faction, Celestial Path, and the last, a member of another faction that he had recently managed to ally himself with—suddenly turned their eyes in the same direction.
Since arriving there hours ago, they hadn't discussed the possibility of someone coming to bother Minos on his first duty as an Entitled Deity.
Minos hadn't gotten into disputes after making his alliance with Devdar official. He had taken advice from his senior and gotten to know medium and small factions to bring over to his side, as well as sending clones of himself to different planes to carry out his other plans. Once he had done all this, he came to this place to cultivate, to seek his advancement and to take care of his duties as a Deity.
So the three who volunteered to come on this journey to help Minos didn't think beforehand that they would have problems. This, however, was something they had underestimated.
Looking towards the brighter side of this region that seemed to live forever under the shadow of a cloud, the trio spotted a group of Deities swimming at high speed from the east.
"Trouble?"
"I didn't think we'd have to prove our strength so soon," said the only woman in the trio as she waved the weapon in one of her hands.
Devdar's subordinate, who had accompanied his master to the inheritance that Minos had won, brought one of his hands to his chin and muttered, "I hear that rumors about Master Minos' actions have already spread. Could it be that his predictions were right? Are they going to challenge him with force?"
"If they've come this far, then many others must be in Minos' domain right now," said the other man, leader of a middle-level faction, the last ally to join the coalition assembled by Minos after his arrival in the realm. As he looked in the cave's direction entrance, he muttered with a smile on his lips. "I'm curious how well his arrangements will stop his various challengers."
The woman crossed her arms and let out an arrogant tone. "If Senior Lydis hasn't left his domains, then everyone else will fail. No one else could cause trouble in Minos' domains. Those in front of us are fools in search of pain!"
The blood-red haired man, still staring at Minos' cave, didn't doubt it, even though he didn't have the same chance to see the power of Minos, as was the case with the two members of the Celestial Path. 'If even Devdar allowed a subordinate to emancipate himself and accepted him as an ally, this guy must be really formidable...'
Meanwhile, the group approaching the area noticed the three Deities standing guard around the area where Minos was cultivating. Slowing down, the group of level 127 True Celestials made a strategic stop before entering the opposing group's space of influence.
"He's not alone."
"As expected. He's not a fool."
"But those three alone aren't enough to protect him. He's certainly confident in himself."
"Or he's more ambitious than we think and his 'pieces' are moving for other purposes," said an old man with a long silver beard, on the right side of the strongest of these experts.
"It doesn't matter. We have to use our advantage and hold Minos where he is. As long as he can't take his disputes outside the realm, his growth will be limited to his cultivation."
This could be problematic, but as the inherent rules of the Upper Realm forbade mortal disputes, it wasn't really possible to grow in this dimension with just cultivation!
That is, of course, as long as one didn't reach the legendary Absolute level. In this situation, everything would be different!
The group leader then said, "Enough talk. Let's act! The enemy is already preparing to do the same!"
