Chapter 2962: The Position of the Stuart Family
Chapter 2962: The Position of the Stuart Family
"As you are now, maybe not even your father could defeat you," a beautiful woman with long green hair said to a man with long black hair and blue eyes like the sky.
He was standing at the peak of a mountain, facing a free fall of hundreds of meters from that floating island. His white clothing, with few striking details, swayed in the wind, while the warmth of his smile made the group watching him smile with great expectations.
Grisdi couldn't help but look at her husband with absolute happiness drawn on her face, seeing in his silhouette something as impressive as Minos.
A young redhead smiled at Grisdi's comment. She was also happy for Kendrick, but how could she agree with such an absurd statement?
"Kendrick, congratulations on your advancement. Level 126 suits you well, I'd say," the beautiful woman with red hair, close to the rest of the family, at the highest point of Armhands' headquarters, said as she congratulated her brother without Grisdi's 'exaggeration'. "But reaching our father will only be possible when you enter the Upper Realm."
"That's not going to be difficult," Dillian's voice resounded among the group of spectators.
Even a Sovereign like him would never be ignored in that place. Having served Minos, Rowan, and now Kendrick, Dillian had a position as high in Zocarro as some of Minos' direct heirs!
Dillian, who had been living in Zocarro for decades now, said, "Young Master Kendrick, reaching the Upper Realm will be just a mere formality for you. When will you join your father and the rest of the family?"
Kendrick's eldest son looked at his father in expectation. He had also had his cultivation elevated because of Abby's advancement to the position of Entitled Deity.
All of her blood relatives had just had the chance to go to the Upper Realm and had their lineage advancements moments before.
A new advancement of a family member to the realm would take him even higher than his father, and he couldn't help but yearn for the future!
The others looked in silence at Kendrick, curious but also eager about his possibilities.
Kendrick going to the realm would be the fair destiny for someone so prominent. But him staying longer among them would be as good or better for those who couldn't transcend so easily!
Kendrick continued to observe the pink sky of Zocarro, imagining how his mother and father would be now.
He knew some details of his father's situation in the Upper Realm.
From time to time, communications arrived with instructions from his father. On the other hand, this Supreme Leader of Armhands knew nothing of his mother beyond that she was working hard to achieve a position in the realm.
Today he learned about her success and breathed deeply as he thought about his own situation.
'My father is facing his worst enemies… My mother has just succeeded and will soon join him in his dangerous crusade.' Kendrick thought about the circumstances of his family that only a handful of people in the entire universe knew. 'Is it time for me to seek a place in the realm?' He wondered in doubt.'
Kendrick had no hurry to become a Deity. For him, living in Zocarro, caring for his father's legacy, was as good or better than 'abandoning' everything and ascending to 'immortality.'
He sighed as he closed his eyes, before saying in a low voice to his people. "I feel that my departure is getting closer. I fear I won't have much more time by your side, friends."
Jalai, the former guild leader, current advisor to Kendrick, couldn't help but 'pick up' the subtle traces of problems in Kendrick's words. He frowned, feeling that the moment he had most awaited might not be as positive and simple as he had thought.
'I thought the success of Minos' women would open doors for the rest of us… Why is Kendrick so negative?' The white-haired man wondered, scratching his face uncomfortably.
"Maybe I have to force my way and enter the realm without a throne," Kendrick said, shocking almost everyone from Armhands' high command there with him.
"What do you mean?" Kyla, the Nine-Tailed Fox, Rowan's wife, asked in an uncertain tone.
Jalai didn't wait for an answer as he stepped forward, asking, "Is that possible?"
Kendrick shook his head, first looking at Jalai, and then at the others that his father had promised to take to the Upper Realm eventually.
"It's possible, but it's not that simple. There's no advantage in doing it that way either.
My father intended to give most of us opportunities to enter the realm as a Deity or as someone related to a Deity. That's the correct way to ascend to the realm, gain special powers, and lineage promotions.
But there's a way to enter the realm that doesn't involve your genetic inheritance or your success in a divine inheritance."
The strongest among them, a group of peak Sovereigns, and even some newly promoted Celestials, became several degrees more serious, anxiously waiting for Kendrick's explanation.
He continued, "A Celestial who has enough energy, understanding, and solid foundation to compare to an Entitled Deity can force their way to the realm, as long as they have the location of its singular points… The same would work for Hell—although that's not as necessary."
Half of the group of experts sighed in disappointment, feeling the requirements were too high.
Only Kendrick among all the Celestials they had ever known in their lives could satisfy all the conditions!
Kendrick went on with his words. "Additionally, someone who enters the realm this way wouldn't have a title, wouldn't have promotional bonuses, and would be forever pursued by the will of the heavens. A strong enough curse to threaten their lives would fall on them periodically.
The details aren't even known for sure by my family in the Upper Realm. But those who choose this path rarely last long."
Grisdi paled as she imagined Kendrick taking such a decision. "Then you shouldn't go! It's too dangerous!"
He smiled at her, grateful for her concern. But he didn't think he had another way to act.
"Don't despair about what I said. This is all valid for someone common. I still have my parents, two Entitled Deities, and the rest of the family. Besides, this isn't a curse that would affect me at every moment. It's supposed to attack every century and with each cultivation advancement. I'd still have time and space to prepare."
He wasn't speaking idly. Kendrick believed he could become the first to overcome the curse of the heavens!
He, at least, judged he would be the first in history in such a splendid position for that confrontation!
No one in his surroundings was relieved by his words, still quite worried, and stirred by Kendrick's words and their implications.
"Is the master in some trouble?" Asked one of Armhands' Elders there.
Kendrick looked mysteriously at the sky. "Something like that… I won't speak of the details. Before invading the realm, I will go to Hell to leave a message. My father will need the seeds he left behind."
"Guild leader, I put myself at your disposal to invade the realm."
Not just one, but half a dozen Elders and Generals of Armhands stepped closer to Kendrick, each of them already making their gestures of respect.
Going to the Upper Realm was the ultimate goal of Armhands. Most of the guild members fought to reach the peak and achieve that absolute ambition.
But such a feat wasn't for everyone. Even after countless millennia of existence, only Minos and now Abby had succeeded in it.
Everyone knew the cruel reality they lived in. Either they would die as mortals or die trying to achieve immortality.
A throne was out of reach for them.
A position below a Deity was also out of reach. Not everyone had a good lineage to depend on.
Not much was left beyond the chances that Minos would give them someday—if he had such a possibility.
Jalai, one of the many that Minos had promised to give a chance to enter the realm, looked at his hands, thinking. 'Minos will definitely fulfill his promise… But what if something happens to him before that?'
Minos had been impressive in his journey. Jalai had already learned not to doubt the man Minos was. But he knew nothing about the realm.
Would waiting passively be the best decision?
Risking, Jalai also stepped forward, gesturing to Kendrick, "Please, take me to your side. Even though the curse is terrible, I will face it for a chance to glimpse the other side. Dying fighting will still be better than waiting for death!"
Kendrick looked at the group and nodded with a smile on his face.
These were the strongest of Armhands in Oqia, but he wasn't worried about taking them to their death by his side. His family had grown strong since the departure of the last of Minos' wives, over 20 years ago.
Since Ruth's departure, the family had gained 12 new Celestials, 40 new high-level Supremes, and a reasonable number of allies at the peak of the 12th stage.
Even if powerful experts like Jalai were lost now, the power and position of the family wouldn't change at all!
Emlyn, Vico, Callie, the elders of Armhands, were just some pillars he could trust to continue keeping the powerful Stuart Family standing in this universe.
"Alright. Let's plan our departure to Hell. We'll go to the Upper Realm as soon as we complete our journey to Mylecent and Vicente Fuller!"
