Chapter 2963: In Search of the Family
Chapter 2963: In Search of the Family
Back in the Upper Realm, Abby and her group traveled for a few days, avoiding spreading the news that they had just entered the realm while searching for information about Minos.
They thought that Minos or someone under his command would come to them to place them alongside the rest of the family in the realm. However, after a week of travel, they realized that this would not happen.
Apparently, Minos' faction had left the 'light' and was missing for several weeks. The last time it had been seen in a public place was before a great confrontation that took place in front of the headquarters of the Ancestral Cult.
Abby's group did not know the exact details of that battle. The news about this event that spread through the realm was not robust enough for newcomers like them to clearly understand the situation.
They did not know who the enemy was, what had provoked the attack, nor the current situation of the cult, nor even the whereabouts of Minos.
But in this week of travel, they learned it would not be possible to find Minos and the rest of the family at the headquarters of the Ancestral Cult. Furthermore, their relatives were facing serious problems.
Thus, the group joined the movement of Minos' faction, hiding their tracks and objectives even more. Fortunately for them, the realm was even more tense with the situation of Minos' faction than they themselves were. Few were paying attention to the arrival of new Deities, and ultimately, Deities could hide easily when leaving their territories.
Now the group was arriving at the second major city of the realm they would pass through, already at a distance where they could see the great colorful and vibrant coral.
Their group was not large, so they would hardly attract attention by moving together to such a place. Not only that, they had learned that it was common for numerous groups to travel between cities in the realm. Therefore, unlike how they had done in the last city they investigated, today they went ahead, united.
…
In an alley of the great and crystalline Sapphire, a group of humans dressed in hoods, covering their identities, were sitting on stones on the ground, in a sepulchral silence.
The group was turned toward a person who was sitting in the lotus position, eyes closed, and a calm demeanor, despite the situation. Blue strands rested on her shoulders, falling slightly out of the darkness of her hood.
Around her, a mortal aura, capable of repelling all living beings, covered her body like an invisible armor, but still impossible to ignore.
One of Abby's descendants sighed and asked, "Will the ancestor be okay?"
"If the rumors are true, then we're in the worst of scenarios… Will…" Another member of the group was saying, when Abby's father intervened.
"Don't talk nonsense. If the rumors are true, then Minos is one of the strongest in the realm. Even though the enemies are mysterious and capable of seriously wounding him, that doesn't mean he will succumb!"
Abby's mother agreed with her husband. "Minos has overcome many problems in his journey. The fact that he is missing and there are no rumors of his death is actually something good. This shows that he is still fighting and certainly has chances!"
They had just got new information in this city they were currently in. Apparently, this place had been led by one of Minos' allies in recent years. Such an existence had also disappeared with the rest of the Ancestral Cult, but even so, information about Minos and his faction was more robust in this place than in the city they had passed through earlier.
Even common residents of the area knew about many details of the beginning of Minos' journey in the realm, simple information for many, but very relevant for newcomers to the realm.
Less than a day in this city was enough for Abby's group to learn about Minos' ascending trajectory in the realm and his rapid strengthening. The countless centuries for them in their native universe were just a few years in the realm, enough for their leader to reach a prominent position enough for the entire realm to know his name.
One of Abby's relatives then said, changing the core of the problem slightly. "I think finding His Excellency Minos will be impossible. The best thing would be to go after the rest of the family. Her Excellency Lily should be our target."
Abby finally broke her silence, opening her eyes to look at that woman. "That's what we should do now. Let's find those who followed Minos to the realm upon his ascension. From what I understand, the group is on the run, so they are probably subdivided and are hiding in different locations. There's also a great chance they are in movement."
"How will we find them?" Abby's father asked. "If they can hide from such strong enemies, I fear it won't be easy to find them."
Abby raised one of her hands in the air, at the height of her face, while a golden seal materialized over it. "This is one of the protections Minos left in my body before departing. It wasn't created to be useful for location, but perhaps we have a chance with it."
"Then can we try to find the ancestor?" Asked one of Abby's descendants.
She shook her head in denial. "Impossible. If that were possible, it would be enough for someone to kidnap one of Minos' relatives to find him."
"Then let's locate Lily with the seals that she also has in her body." Abby's mother understood her daughter's plan.
"If that's possible, of course," Abby stood up, prepared to move. "Anyway, we need to find them and learn more about the enemies. The throne I received seems different from the 'normal' one for the other Deities of the realm. This must have an explanation and is certainly a sign from Minos about our role in the realm."
She still needed to learn about her function as a Deity, about the realm and its history.
Abby had only entered the Upper Realm recently and knew nothing about the absolute laws, besides, of course, the instinctive feeling of superiority she felt when near Deities in the two cities of the realm she had been in until now.
'I also have to understand better why the realm seems so terrified…' Abby thought in silence, quite uncomfortable with the macabre feeling in the cities of the realm. 'Minos' problem shouldn't be a nuisance only to his allies and subordinates? Why do beings not connected to them seem so worried about the near future?'
