Chapter 767: Infinity Against Infinity.
Chapter 767: Infinity Against Infinity.
In front of my very eyes, I saw the world lose all of its color. Not in an instant, but like a spreading plague that emerged from the dragon underneath.
A slow, yet fast decaying power that overtook the crimson of my home world and replaced it with black and white, but that was not all of it.
No, that was merely the surface. From the dragon’s body, a tinge of blue emerged and my entire body screamed at me, defying the orders of my mind. I, who was hidden behind hundreds of defensive spells, my blood magic that was the awe of my house...
I knew that would kill me. My body... my body was scared of that power.
At the slight edges of the blue, I could see a pitch black outline, perhaps the effect of the loss of color... But I felt something else from it.
In a mere moment, I turned my body to the right, a moment was all I had before my ears were ripped open by the sound of the attack being unleashed. A cut that ravaged the world, a straight line that tore reality apart as it made its way towards me in an instant, cleaving through my arm like it was butter.
Space around me trembled, distorted, as all the defensive spells I had cast were useless. Not one could stop that attack, Not one could even hinder it.
A volley of blood escaped my gaping wound, as I turned to look back, one of the moons behind me, one of the great seven... lay split in half, it would soon swiftly fall towards the planet, with blazing intensity, and yet that was not what shocked me.
Behind me, in front of me, the space that the attack had cleaved through remained broken, shattered like glass. The ground, the skies, the very fabric of reality torn apart in a mess of blue and black, like an unescapable void.
I ran away from it, afraid it would suck me in and imprison me in darkness again. It was something that would not disappear, a crack that could not be filled, a wound that could not be mended.
But, as I barely managed to run away from it, and stop the bleeding... I felt something else, and soon enough heard it as my ears regenerated.
It was the sound... of a beating heart, but it reminded me of something else, natural disasters one would normally fear. The howl of a blizzard, inescapable...
And the mighty descent of an avalanche consumed my being, as the world turned into a frozen tundra, a blizzard rained supreme, and the mana of frost invaded the world as it drove blood mana away.
In a span of a few seconds, the dragon had completely turned the tides of battle in his favor. He had ripped reality apart with a single strike, he had turned the atmosphere to something he excelled in... and he still had plenty of aura to spare, and I didn’t even dare mention those reserves of mana.
’... So this is an Heir?’
Before my years of imprisonment, I had heard about his kind. Normally, even a single dragon that had not eluded himself from training was a calamity to be reckoned with... but even among such a mighty race, talents existed.
Royalty existed even among the purest blood, royalty descended from beings who were part of the universe itself, the Heirs of their immortal houses.
The House of War, The house of Life, The house of Order, and The house of death. The house of War and Order already had prominent heirs that I had heard plenty about... there were some rumors of a pacifist in the house of life, but I was unaware of the current situations of things...
But this?
This was an heir I had not even heard about, and it could only mean one thing, and it was that this dragon was a newborn, or Shivalkulan had hidden their heir.
"It must be the latter..."
Honestly, I knew it couldn’t be the truth, I would have known about it... but perhaps to calm my nerves and shield my ego, I chose to accept the latter as truth.
"An heir of a lineage... as my first opponent after my sacrilege."
I mouthed, as I drew blood from my home world to regenerate my arm. Yes, that Dragon is not the only one with a regenerative factor... Mine is as powerful as his on my home. The millennia of blood my house has gathered will help me.
The cold was brutal, each wisp of air, each drop of snow felt like a blade to me, but in response, I summoned a storm of blood to combat the blizzard.
Blood mana, against frost mana... Such an interesting clash. Despite my worries, A smile crept up on my face, as my body hardened... A gift from my mother, the blood I had feasted upon first.
The instincts of a God Beast propelled me to enjoy battle, battle... all my life I craved battle. And my body will enjoy this as well.
I stared at him, my body flawless, my body powerful and perfect. The arm he had cut off regenerated, and a crazed smile took place on my face as... he was the same.
We both locked eyes with each other, smiling like battle crazed demons from the abyss as in an instant, we broke the barrier of sound, propelling ourselves towards each other.𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Come dragon, I will feast upon you, and claim my damn inheritance.
******
My fist in his hand, His fist in mine, A battle between the brutal cold and the savage blood. It was the first time I had used one of the abilities of the Winter heart. It was... different.
Not only that, but it didn’t feel like I was using my mana to fuel that skill, but rather mana present in the heart... a type of mana I had trouble recognizing... but eventually, I found it was frost, fascinatingly condensed to a level I don’t think I could accomplish.
The mana inside was so pure, so condensed, that it made the mana back on Lanekia feel subpar. Mine was trash next to it.
The heart functioned differently than I expected, but that much was okay. The effects were amazing. Merely casting [Ice Age] felt like I was back on Lanekia as soon as the spell took effect.
My strength increased by leaps and bounds and finally, the stench was gone, and I felt my mind was at ease. The skill was incredible, far beyond what I could accomplish with [Blizzard], [Glacier], or even [Glacial Collapse]. Its effects were akin to a thousand [Glacial Collapse].
It... gave me enough strength to combat this damn vampire without anything disturbing me, even the storm of blood that was summoned did not hinder me, failing to pierce through my blizzard.
The clash of winter against the savage blood was intense, and so was the fight between us.
[Dragon breath has been used.]
I fired a dragon breath at point-blank range at the vampire, inside the area of effects of [Ice Age]. My breath reached new heights, and tore a hole through the dark clouds itself in a flash of blinding light accompanied by a freezing chill.
I could see a pillar of ice reach the skies itself, as the vampire in front of me lay frozen, encased in true ice. But this was merely a fake.
The figure within the ice collapsed into blood and flesh, and I heard air being ripped apart behind me as I turned around, barely avoiding a kick to my head.
He pivoted his body in the air, and launched his other leg at me, I caught it between my left arm, wincing at the force that shook me to the core. Grinding my teeth, I raised my right hand and fired spells right at his face.
[Ice lance has been used.]
[Glacial Collapse has been used.]
Being in such proximity, I couldn’t spam spells as I would have liked, so I just pumped as much mana the spell could contain and fired it. An Ice Lance hundreds of times powerful than the ordinary, and a Glacial Collapse Elena could never compare to was cast, freezing parts of his body.
But as soon as I thought I did something, those parts turned to blood and flesh and detached from the main body, and were promptly replaced.
’... Wow.’
That’s annoying to deal with, fucking regeneration abuser. But there has to be a limit... So I’ll keep doing the same until he reaches that damn limit.
Surprisingly, he didn’t launch another attack, rather grabbed me and held me in place, In his eyes, I could see a blazing star rip through the sky and approach our location, and even the sound of the atmosphere being ripped apart confirmed it.
’...’
The moon I had split apart, was falling towards us at breakneck speeds, clad in fire and magma. Does he think that’ll work, considering my weakness is fire?
Well, yeah, that would work... only if it hit me. I can’t use instant teleportation since the bastard is blocking my view, But I sure as hell can cast spells.
[Glacial Meteor (2x) has been cast.]
The blazing moon isn’t doing anything to me if I just redirect, or destroy it with my own meteors.
