The Villain's Story

Chapter 768: Infinity Vs Infinity.

Chapter 768: Infinity Vs Infinity.

A clash of fire and ice in the sky up above, and a clash of blood and ice on the ground.

A rift in the world to the side, and in the middle of it all, stood two who paid attention to nothing but themselves, locked in a fight that was ruining everything around them.

Victor, the vampire, launched a fierce offense, giving Alan no time to cast his spells, and forcing him to either engage in a physical brawl. And while Alan was confident in a physical brawl, he was hesitant.

He may be overpowered in strength without using aura, but even in the realm of technique, he only had a slight edge. Furthermore, what was making him wary was the constant attempts at trying to make him bleed.

Victor was not going for punches, kicks, tackles, throws or any of those kinds of attacks... But rather trying to aim for a cut. His prolonged nails were continuously trying to cut his skin.

It wasn’t an efficient way of fighting when one considered his physique, and considering how he had fought before, Alan somehow knew Victor was aware of that at all.

He was trying to draw blood, and Alan wouldn’t let him, which was why he was constantly dodging.

’Vampires...’

His knowledge of them had been limited, more or so because he wasn’t interested in any literature concerning them, or unaware of any form of media concerning them, he was aware of what most wouldn’t know after he used [Dragon Eyes] on Alpha and Beta.

The information he had read was mainly about their individual abilities and traits, rather than the knowledge of their species... He had simply glanced over that part, but he was still able to retain some information.

Something even Alan was surprised at, His memory was somehow becoming better. Nothing compared to Sabrina’s flawless memory, but hey, an upgrade was an upgrade.

He was trying his best not to get injured at all, while his trust in his bloodline was absolute, he was still trying to play it safe... making sure there had been no cut on his body.

Prior, when they were dueling with their bare fists, blood had leaked out of him like a river, but nothing had happened. The recent obsession of Victor, endlessly aiming to make him bleed, was off-putting. He was cautious.

Teleporting behind the man, Alan spun around and delivered a kick to the lower back with his heel. He quickly jumped behind afterward, as Victor...

Shifted his body in an impossible way... He ignored the laws of the biological being, ripping his muscles and innards to shreds as he forcefully turned around, snapping the vertebrae in his spine to launch a counter-attack. His foot was facing forward... while the upper half was staring daggers right at Alan, who had teleported behind him.

’... Nice idea.’

He should try that later, though he was unsure if he would actually be able to do it. While he was certain he would heal from such a movement easily, actually doing it was another matter.

The body didn’t always move as one wanted, Consciously, he would be trying to do it, but his subconscious, or rather the brain would automatically deny such a thing.

How had Victor accomplished it? He really wanted to know.

’Though I don’t think he’ll answer.’

Barely dodging his nails, Alan retaliated by swinging the Ame-No-Sakahoko at Victor. A spear was the best weapon to keep your enemy at a distance...

’...’

Only if that enemy cared about it. Victor didn’t bother evading the sharp spear at all, rather letting it cut into his body. A cut appeared on his chest, spanning the entire area, but instead of being satisfied at dealing some damage, Alan felt alarm bells ringing inside his head.

The blood that seeped out from the wound, launched at an incredible speed towards Alan, specifically aimed at his eyes. His mana shield barely gave him enough time to teleport away from the onslaught, before the bloody rain tore through.

Appearing far behind Victor, on top of a cliff they had surprisingly not flattened in their fight, Alan calmly assessed the situation.

’He knows [Instantaneous Teleportation] is connected to the eyes...’

He couldn’t use the skill if he didn’t have a clear picture of where he was teleporting, His eyes were essential.

’Did he figure it out that quickly? Damn, is it that easy?’

Even Master Arken had figured it out quickly, and ever since then, the man had even trained Alan to use it with more obscurity, making sure he wouldn’t focus his pupils at the targeted location too much.

Besides that, he was a dragon, leaving almost no traces of mana... but everyone above a certain level always noticed it.

’Damn it.’

He cursed, as Victor laughed.

"Although that skill is incredibly annoying, I like that it has such an obvious weakness."

Alan stayed silent, simply looking down at the vampire as he calmly regenerated his body. He could do it in an instant, but chose to show it off at that moment. It did manage to piss Alan off somewhat.

’Is he flexing it or something?’

"Although, I must concur, I love that you are not like the other spatial users I have met... those bastards are so annoying..."

Alan raised his brows, showing a hint of interest.

"Annoying how?"

He asked, as Victor licked the blood off his mouth.

"Well, you see, You actually stay around to fight, despite that teleportation. Although annoying, it is manageable.

Everybody else? A runner. Every damn spatial mage is a runner in every life or death situation. Cowards, all of them! You show even a hint of having the ability to kill them... and the next thing you know they are on a different damn planet. I wonder if you would also have done that, if not for the array here. Though I don’t think so."

"..."

’You know, Can’t blame them.’

Alan thought he would be getting some useful information, but what was shared was something... unexpected. Though he couldn’t say he blamed them.

In fact, he agreed. Abuse the power that lets you run if you’re in a life or death situation, Why wouldn’t you? Spatial users are already as rare as a random diamond you will find on the street.

Hell, he’d do the same if he encountered an overpowered enemy, though he wouldn’t run from this fight. Victor was powerful, without a doubt... But Alan was surprisingly unafraid.

Cautious, yes, but scared? Not even an ounce of fear was in his body now... It couldn’t be helped.

Had Victor appeared before the calamity that was Kizmal, maybe Alan would have tried running seriously, or faced him with some fear in his mind.

But after facing a mountain sized walking piece of calamity itself, the herald of lightning and strength itself... He was calm when faced with an overgrown bat.

He could at least go against Victor in a battle with fists... With Kizmal? His body would have been a smoking puddle by now.

This was... hard difficulty, not impossible difficulty. He could do this alone, unlike with Kizmal.

It seemed as if the Winter Heart knew it as well, even his body. The surrounding blizzard intensified, despite not having issued an order for it to do so.

"Why look at me with such cold eyes?"

A sea of blood emerged from the ground, turning the snow into a deep red, a spell Victor conjured to deal with the intensified blizzard. But that was merely the surface of it.

Thousands, upon thousands of spears of blood emerged from the ground, or appeared from thin air, and locked onto Alan’s position.

’That’s a lot of mana.’

Alan already knew the reason behind this flamboyant display of mana, Victor had not even touched his natural mana reserves, but was drawing mana from the entire planet itself. His sorcery was aiding him in this.

He didn’t even try to hide it. Perhaps because he knew any form of obscurity would not work in front of a dragon.

"Come, dear sir. The night is far from over."

Alan simply conjured an even larger number of ice spears to deal with the blood spears, and locked eyes with Victor, who jumped right towards Alan’s extended spear. Reflexively, he stabbed forward, realizing it too late.

Victor’s chest was pierced, however, only by a little. Cutting his skin was one thing, but piercing his muscles was another matter entirely. Alan would have to put a lot of force to actually make a hole in his body...

Only, he didn’t need to. Victor grabbed the shaft of the Ame-No-Sakahoko... and pulled himself in, coming towards Alan in a slow, harrowing way with a smile on his face.

"You really think that’s going to do something?"

Alan smirked, noting down another move to try out as he closed his eyes, creating many shields around his body... as he sent his mana towards the Ame-No-Sakahoko. He wasn’t planning to use any martial technique or anything.

Rather, he was going for the simplistic approach. Collecting mana in his spear, at the exact location where Victor was currently at, and prepared for a big, big boom.

He was simply planning to expel all of it inside of Victor’s body.

"Oh, you fu-"

The vampire realized it too late.
