The Villain's Story

Chapter 769: Infinity Against Infinity(2).

Chapter 769: Infinity Against Infinity(2).

Surprisingly enough, Victor withstood the blast even though the amount of mana Alan had put into it was no joke.

Mana enough to topple a mountain by sheer force failed to explode his body, even though it was detonated from within. The shields Alan had put up failed to be put to use. He had expected him to blow up entirely...

"...YOU MOTHERFUCKER."

Though, it did seem he was successful at enraging the vampire. The polite act was all gone, replaced with a demonic face and bloody eyes.

Victor dislodged himself from the spear and rose into the air. A torrent of blood consumed his figure, and Alan knew he was regenerating inside that vortex.

’What kind of regeneration is it?’

Was it one that defied everything like his own? It couldn’t be. Alan could come back even if his entire body had been obliterated but his dragon heart. He could be turned into dust and still come back.

His heart was nearly indestructible... anyone that he faced up till now, excluding Kizmal, had barely managed to scratch it. Destroying his heart was no easy feat. Even cutting his head off would only hinder him for a moment.

Besides that, his regeneration was in a league of itself, coming from the bloodline of the Phoenix itself. He had a natural immunity to sickness, and increased resistance to almost every ailment that existed. He would heal no matter what.

Even if he had no mana, or aura, he would always regenerate back to full. The two energies were simply used to accelerate the process. Aura was something that made it nearly instantaneous, while Mana was relatively slower, yet still more potent than any form of healing magic he had seen.

Would Victor be killed if Alan destroyed his heart? Briefly using Dragon eyes on the vortex of blood, Alan found out that Victor... didn’t possess one.

The entire body was muscle, and mana. There were almost no internal organs at all. It was just blood and flesh.

’How is he even moving and alive?’

There was clearly something involved, but he hadn’t been able to find it. The more pressing issue was his regeneration.

It was like his own, but that couldn’t be. Alan refused to believe an overgrown bat could match the regeneration of the Phoenix. There had to be a trick he was using.

Regenerating that almighty muscular physique perfectly every time would consume immense amounts of mana each time it was done... Question was, Victor hadn’t even touched his own mana reserves.

He was drawing mana from the planet, but how?

"COME HERE!"

Teleporting all over the place, avoiding the blood Victor was throwing all around, Alan contemplated using [Dragon Eyes] again, despite the risks. He would need to look at the planet longer to figure out the reason, but using that damn skill for a prolonged period was risky.

Furthermore, he didn’t think the vampire would give him time to analyze the array that covered this planet.

’Damn it, I should have done more before.’

He had used it before on the planet... but regretted not researching more. He had stopped after realizing it was stopping spatial magic to a point.

’What is it?’

Alan turned his head to avoid a blood blade, as he eyed the vortex of blood down.

’What is it?’

There was something on this planet powering the regeneration, the nearly infinite supply of mana Victor had... But he struggled to find out what.

Destroying the planet was an option Alan wanted to avoid until he confirmed Sabrina was safe, that only left him with a battle of attrition that was surprisingly not in his favor.

His instincts were telling him to not get injured, bleeding would certainly be disastrous. His blood would freeze in an instant outside his body if he wanted too... but he felt something was wrong this time.

The instincts of a dragon weren’t a joke. He trusted his body more than his mind at this point.

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DIFFERENT FROM EVERY OTHER SPATIAL USER?!"

’Damn, I really did piss him off.’

Alan jumped from the cliff he was standing on, before it was obliterated into nothing by a single drop of blood. The vortex in the air finally subsidized and Victor finally emerged into the world once again.

This time, in a different form.

Pure white hair, much like Alan’s, but his eyes were pitch black with rubies in the place of pupils. Those were actual gems, not merely red eyes. Black lines all over his body, and crooked horns extending from his temple.

He looked like a demon more than a vampire at this point.

’...?’

After taking a closer look, all of that was merely a cosmetic change, which left Alan confused. The amount of mana and the level of strength was still the same.

The entire transformation did nothing to improve his stats at all. It was useless...

Alan sighed, as Victor laughed like a maniac. He flew towards Alan in an instant, wielding two short swords made entirely of blood, Alan blocked the strike with his spear, being pushed back a few steps.

The lower body of the vampire turned into a storm of blood.

"Urgh..."

Alan grimaced as a few drops of blood landed on his legs, chewing through his shields much like it chewed through his skin.

The blood had a corrosive property, and Alan was unable to avoid bleeding this time. Alarm bells rang in his mind as he ordered his blood to freeze the moment it left his body, his regeneration would close the wounds by itself.

"Such cold blood... What a shame."

Alan felt it briefly, Victor really had tried to do something to his blood, but due to the special properties the blood of a frost dragon possessed, it failed. He saw the ice crystals try to change shape but ultimately fail.

"... Shit."

He shivered, unwilling to think what would have happened if his blood wasn’t special.

"This is unfair... Not only are you a frost dragon, but you have a lineage as well as a bloodline, both so powerful... This is really unfair. I can’t do anything to it..."

Victor swung his swords at Alan’s face, who blocked it with the spear again. The blade of blood was inches away from his neck. Alan could see the struggle in Victors face, it appeared that he was still trying to perform whatever trick he had on his blood.

The sound of steel clashing against steel followed, as Alan was forced on the defensive under his ruthless assault, each strike carried enough power to pulverize a hill, and his hands were starting to become numb, his body was ringing with each strike he blocked.

’I have to figure it out...’

Alan launched a counter-attack, cutting the tendons and ligaments in Victor’s right hand with skillful mastery, only for them to regenerate in half a second.

What’s more, considering how tough his body was, it was a chore to cut those as well. Normally, Alan would have aimed for the arm, but had to resort to the weaker muscles because of how tough Victor’s body was.

"This is so annoying..."

He mouthed, firing an ice breath towards Victor. Ice magic was effective at destroying his body, only that Victor didn’t give Alan much of a chance to use any magic. The constant assault had him on his knees, and Alan knew Victor was trying to get him out of the domain of [Ice Age].

He wouldn’t even think of fighting like this outside of the domain, therefore, he had to come up with something soon, otherwise he would be losing this fight.

It really pissed him off facing someone like this, Whatever damage you did was repaired in seconds, and to top it off, the infinite mana and incredibly strong physique to overwhelm you were the cherry on top of this disaster cake.

Fighting someone like this... someone like him was annoying beyond belief. It would have been terrifying if he didn’t have the same qualities.

But he wasn’t as crazy as Victor, He would perform impossible movements even at the cost of his body being ripped apart every time. It wasn’t much when considering he repaired those all in an instant.

Predicting his moves, however, was thrown out of the window. Alan couldn’t anticipate anything from the movement of his body. He had been taught to focus on the shoulders and legs... but this?

This was insane.

Naturally, as the onslaught continued, He couldn’t avoid getting injured, and as a result.

He froze.

Quite literally, he froze. He had commanded all of his blood to turn to ice the moment it left his body, and thus, it stuck to his skin as frozen crystals.

It restricted his body in a way it shouldn’t have, Even if his blood had frozen, it shouldn’t have been enough to stop him in any sort of way.

Even being trapped in a glacier of ice, Alan would have escaped easily... So how was he being slowed down?

It was at that moment, when he questioned it, that he noticed the smile on Victor’s face.

’I can’t do anything to it.’

Those words, were a lie. A trap. He had made Alan believe he truly couldn’t do anything to his blood.

"Got you."

A moment of stillness, and sharp fangs dug deep into his neck.
