The Villain's Story

Chapter 925: Plot.

Chapter 925: Plot.

Terra Damnum, formerly known as Australia, is a ruined place. Since the portal to the abyss opened up here, the land was flooded with pure chaos energy and abyssal forces, transforming it. Terra Damnum, on the surface, is akin to the many abyssal layers, except for the supernatural events.

The continent that was once thrived with life is now home to quite literally nothing. No original creature native to the continent exists anymore. All are present as bones, and some even less. Only Demonic Beings inhabit this cursed land.

Those demonic beings are either demonic beasts, creatures with only bloodlust, Demons, who stay close to the Portal, or the Obelisk.

The organization formed by Morgana Cardaveres, The Obelisk. It is to Demonic Humans what the Association is to the normal awakened. A haven, of sorts. The Obelisk, despite being younger than the association, has a sizeable force within it.

Not only does it have the most feared Human Being, Morgana, due to her unique Skill, [Biokinesis]. It also has another individual at the SSS-rank, as well as five SS-rank demonic humans, a total of thirty S-ranks, and a plethora of humans below that.

The Obelisk had almost been destroyed once in the past. During Arken’s mad descent as he awakened his aura, he scoured Terra Damnum for anything to kill; he found the original headquarters of Terra Damnum. And hell was let loose.

Had it not been for Morgana barely managing to drive him away, the Obelisk would have been destroyed. After that fiasco, the Obelisk had to relocate. The new headquarters, ironically, had a close relation to Arken.

Back when the Sword Saint had unleashed his ultimate technique, he had nearly split the continent in half. The ‘split’ had formed a massive canyon, and the Obelisk had decided to build an underground base in this canyon. Within this base, built of metal and black stone, a secret meeting was being held.

Morgana, along with thirty-six other people, sat in this secret room. It was brightly lit, strange for a dark organization. The people at the table argued with one another, as Morgana silently listened. A lot of them had feuds with one another, as expected of Demonic Humans. Anyone who had embraced the element of Chaos to harm his fellow man or signed a contract with a demon wasn’t going to be a ‘nice colleague’ to work with. Everyone here was barely restrained from killing each other by Morgana and Keith Dempsy, the other SSS-ranked individual.

Keith Dempsy was a bit special; he had signed a contract with a mind demon back when he was a weak awakened, thirsty for power. The contract was obviously rigged to allow the demon to control Keith completely and take over his mind. However, in this clash, Keith had actually emerged victorious, and his body had merged with the demon.

In a rigged contract, he had managed to best a Demon in a battle of the mind, and thus his body was a weird mix of human and demonic features. He sat at the opposite end of the table to Morgana.

He was a tall man with short black hair and a horn or two sticking out of his forehead. His nose was lined with rock, much like other parts of his body. He had a tail popping out of his arse, and his feet had turned into hooves. Other than that, he was perfectly normal.

Both of the two SSS-ranked beings silently watched the feud with a bit of amusement until one of the SS-ranked beings, Burney Hiks, finally raised his hand.

He was one of the calmer Demonic Humans, one who wasn’t keen on starting a fight every second. The S-rank Demonic humans turned to him with a sneer, and his colleagues at the same rank looked at him with displeasure. They were also enjoying the feud.

Burney ignored them all and turned to Morgana and asked.

“Excuse me, Miss, but may I ask why we were ‘all’ assembled here? This has never happened before.”

All of the Demonic Humans feared Morgana; not only was she the strongest, but also because they didn’t want to become her ‘lab experiments’. Biokinesis was a terrifying skill in her hands. Nobody wished to piss her off, even Keith, who was the one they were all polite to.

One needed immense power and even greater fear to command the Demonic Humans; they’d have to worry about a knife in their backs every second of the day.

Morgana remained silent for a while, making Burney anxious. Beads of sweat rolled down his body as he regretted asking the question.

The woman chuckled and played with her hair with her fingers. After a brief moment, she answered.

“It’s to finally get serious. We’ve been playing around for far too long. Things are going to get serious, very serious. If we don’t follow, all of us will die.”

She continued.

“Our reinforcements from the Abyss have been cut; in a sense, we are isolated.”

“Why?”

Keith asked, curious. Morgana explained the rules of the War set by the House of War.

All of the demonic humans calmed down and listened with rapt attention. At the end, they chuckled.

“Giving rules to war? Are they fucking idiots? Why do we even have to follow?”

Keith and Morgana eyed the S-rank who mocked the rules, but didn’t say anything. Burney answered for them.

“Because they have enough power to make us follow, you idiot.”

The S-rank rolled his eyes and chuckled, but didn’t say anything in response. The people began to chatter among themselves until Keith finally stepped in.

“If it weren’t for those rules, we would all be dead. Either scorched to cinders, or corpses hung on a cross.”

His tone was grave, and Morgana nodded.

“Those rules are the only things stopping the parents of the Dragons stuck here from saving their children. This war is meaningless to beings of their level. The rules you mock are in our favor, you dipshit.”

Keith added, and under his cold gaze, the S-rank who spoke up quietened down and retreated as if he were a puppy.

“The House of War is following Tradition, but Keith is right, the rules are heavily skewed in our favor. Support from other beings that treat us as ants has been cut off, of course, our contact with the Abyss is cut off as well, but that is manageable.

Both sides are serious now. In about three months, the war will officially begin, but we have a lot to do before that.”

Morgana explained and noticed some of the members’ eyes glistening with greed. She laughed as Keith shook his head.

Another SS-rank, Sumi Kolt, raised her hand and asked.

“According to those rules, we are free to do what we want to the Dragons, aren’t we? If we can grab their hearts, do we have to give them to the Martial Star? Or can we keep them?”

The others focused on this and looked at Morgana, hoping for an answer. Keith sighed, and Morgana chuckled.

“Yes, if we are capable of taking down a Dragon, we can keep the spoils. The Martial Star allowed that.”

In an instant, Sumi Kolt slammed her hand on the table and said with a wide smile.

“I call dibs on the ice guy, Alan Peccator, right?”

“You won’t last a single minute against him.”

Morgana said, and Sumi laughed.

“You mean he won’t?”

Morgana rolled her eyes and revealed.

“Alan Peccator is confirmed to be SSS-rank, at the peak of it as well.”

The news was abrupt and shocking; almost none of them believed it. Sumi wanted to say something, but Keith beat her to it.

“What?”

He asked, doubtful. Even though he knew he knew it was probably the truth, since it came from Morgana… a part of him refused to accept it! He was more than a hundred years old and had painstakingly managed to reach SSS-rank! Yet a kid still in his teens had managed to do it?

Everyone else was the same, they thought Morgana was joking, but sadly, it was not the case.

“Yes, Alan Peccator is the sixth SSS-ranked awakened on the side of the Humans, with a possibly fully realized domain, as well as his Bloodline advancement and race as a dragon. None of us here can beat him alone. We can’t even dream of it.”

“That’s preposterous! Just a year ago, he wasn’t even S-rank!”

An SS-rank shouted in dismay, refusing to believe him. Morgana shot an icy glare at him, and he quietened down.

But everyone shared his sentiments, even if it was the truth, no one believed it. SSS-rank at merely eighteen? Everyone else at that rank was well over fifty!

Sumi Kolt struggled to control her self, she touched the scar on her face and asked…

“… What about the other ones? I call dibs on the Fire Dragon brat.”

Morgana laughed out loud.

“You can try, but your not going beat them either. Elijah Ardor is out of the question, if we talk about pure destructive power, he has an edge over even Alan Peccator, according to our sources. He also has a lot of mysterious powers. Even Keith and I would have to sacrifice a lot to take him down.

And by a lot, I mean a lot. It would be a battle to the death.”

Sumi Kolt clicked her tongue and retreated. Burney raised his hand to ask.

“What of the other one? Is there a chance we can take him on? Kazikato.”

Keith shook his head, answering in Morgana’s stead.

“I did some research on him, and it would be hard. Although he is the weakest of the three, he possesses a seven star martial art, an Ancient Martial Technique.”

“Seven stars?!”

None of them even had a five star martial technique!

Keith nodded.

“Yes, the exact specifics are unknown, but it is one closely related to attribute of Death. Besides that, he is still a baby dragon, his mana output is greater than Alan Peccator’s.”

Hearing that, all of them quietened down.
