Chapter 1059: Moments Before Departure

After resolving the knot in Cyrena’s heart, Vaan and Cyrena had a pleasant lunch experience. Both of them ordered an array of sandwiches and tea to try. Upon taking their first bites, they immediately understood why Peach Blossom Cafe was so popular.

It was true that the peach blossom tree created lovely scenery, but it was the food that carried the business. Not only was it delicious, but it also provided Spirit energy for cultivation.

Spirit food was a specialty of Spirit Chefs, who have learned the art of infusing the spirit energy of spirit herbs and plants into their cooking to enhance taste and quality.

Strictly speaking, spirit food was more medicinal than food.

After experiencing the effects of the spirit sandwiches, Vaan realized the Spirit Chef wasn’t an amateur with a bit of skill but someone with actual knowledge of the art.

After Vaan and Cyrena finished their lunch, they went for a walk in various locations with good scenery.

While it might not seem too special to others, Cyrena found it very romantic.

Even though she had decided to be proactive and conquer Vaan’s heart with her charms, she ended up being the one conquered and falling even deeper into the abyss known as love.

Vaan had left an unerasable mark on her heart; Cyrena doubted she could forget him in this lifetime.

Although Vaan didn’t take Cyrena into bed, they were even closer than those who had gone through the physical exchange of love. After all, the cultivation of love had always been more spiritual than physical.

Physical intimacy was only a means of satisfying one’s lust and not fulfilling one’s love.

As such, men must never be mistaken that conquering a woman’s body would also imply conquering her heart. It is even more important to remember that a woman agreeing to sex doesn’t mean the relationship is good and without problems.

The union of man and woman was only the proof of love and not the cultivation of love itself.

That evening, Vaan gathered everyone and held a farewell dinner for himself, much to everyone’s surprise. Everyone thought Vaan would at least spend the night with Cyrena and leave the next morning.

"Can’t you stay for one more—"

"Lillias, don’t be selfish."

Lillias’ request was quickly interrupted by Astoria, who was also saddened by Vaan’s impending departure.

Astoria shook her head and said, "We should already be satisfied with the time Vaan had given us. We can’t keep him here forever. It won’t do anyone any good."

Just as Astoria said, their future would become more uncertain the longer Vaan delayed his journey to the Myriad Sea God Palace. In fact, he could have left a couple of weeks earlier.

However, he had chosen to stay just to ensure everything was in order and on track.

Lillias bit her lips.

Although Lillias understood the situation, she still found herself unwilling to accept it, not because she would miss Vaan but because she worried for his safety. After all, he was venturing into a vaster world full of danger alone.

The loneliness of missing someone could be endured, but the heartache from worrying for the person would be difficult.

"I am blessed to have so many good women in this life. However, I must say it feels as if you are all sending me off to die. Are you trying to curse me?" Vaan lightly joked before he reassured everyone, "Don’t worry about me. I will return to visit often."

"Even if something happens to me on the other side, I have a sure-fire way of returning to everyone alive. That is my promise to everyone," Vaan solemnly swore.

After finally bidding their farewells, Vaan immediately visited Valefor for the handover.

Since he was using the Sea God Temple’s [Gate] to enter the Myriad Sea God Palace, he had to leave the Sea God Temple behind. It was simply impossible to bring it with him.

Even if it were possible, Vaan would still choose to leave the Sea God Temple with Valefor. Otherwise, he would lose the shortcut back to everyone.

Although Vaan had no idea where the Myriad Sea God Palace was, he was certain that it was unbelievably far away from the Skymagia Star Kingdom.

"Well then, I leave everything here to you, Buddy," Vaan passed the Sea God Temple over to Valefor.

"Fuck off. Who wants to be your buddy? Just leave already," Valefor scoffed, dismissing Vaan with a wave of his hand before saying, "If you don’t improve greatly by the next time we meet, I will beat your ass!"

"Haha. That sounds kind of gay, but okay."

Vaan quickly fled into the Sea God Temple with a light-hearted laugh, leaving behind a purple-faced Valefor.

"I already said that I’m not gay!!!" Valefor roared with outrage.
