Chapter 1062: Registration Hall
Chapter 1062: Registration Hall
"Try to keep up, Sir Vaan," Deacon Quintus said after receiving Vaan’s confirmation.
Shortly after, Deacon Quintus immediately dived into the blue seawater channel on the aqueduct bridge. As soon as he entered the darker body of seawater, he was like a fish in the sea; his speed exploded.
In an instant, Deacon Quintus covered more than two kilometers, leaving Vaan far behind.
However, despite such impressive speed and distance coverage within a short time, not a single splash of water escaped the designated channel and mixed with the clearer seawater.
’Interesting...’ Vaan thought.
Although Deacon Quintus went ahead, the other two fish-men Outer Palace disciples did not follow him; they were waiting for Vaan to move first.
When Vaan glanced back at them, the White Shark Fishman asked with hidden gloating, "Do you need help keeping up with Deacon Quintus, Sir Vaan?"
"No need," Vaan calmly replied, paying no further attention to the two fish-men who underestimated him, which also wasn’t surprising.
After all, Vaan was a human without any aquatic traits that could assist him with swimming at a transcendental speed in such a stable world.
Furthermore, the world didn’t just suppress his physical attributes but also his law powers.
The more stable the world’s governing laws were, the harder it was for an individual to bend them to their will. The world of the Myriad Sea God Palace was like a higher dimension of existence.
After Vaan dived into the aqueduct bridge’s water channel, he immediately confirmed the world’s near-universal suppression.
No matter how all-encompassing the worldly suppression seemed, there was something even it could not suppress—the Boundless Sea and Sky Aura.
The Boundless Sea and Sky Aura were practically the foundation that made up the world of the Myriad Sea God Palace’s existence. As such, for the worldly suppression to work on the Boundless Sea and Sky Aura would be no different from the world attacking itself.
With the Boundless Sea and Sky Aura unsuppressed, its arsenal of innate talents related to the sea and sky was also available to Vaan, unrestricted.
On the contrary, Vaan felt like his power over the sea was steadily increasing over time, as if the sea was trying to nourish him.
That said, Vaan could clearly see the difference between a Noble Being and every other life form in the region.
Although vast amounts of pure mana existed in the clear seawater, it wasn’t easily absorbed due to the powerful suppression of the world.
The pure mana of the world wouldn’t just move simply because living beings in the sea willed them to. The pure mana was like sand trapped in sticky syrup; they wouldn’t easily separate due to the vacuum-like force of normal absorption and telekinetic abilities.
As such, it was easier to absorb pure mana through consumption than "breathing."
However, even then, it seemed the process of refining pure mana-filled clear seawater within one’s body would still have its own difficulties.
Evidently, the Myriad Sea God Palace was filled with hidden rules and regulations to restrict and control the growth of living beings within it despite being such a heavenly-blessed world.
Of course, such invisible restrictions and regulations of the world didn’t apply to bearers of the Boundless Sea and Sky Aura.
If Vaan wanted to, all the surrounding pure mana-filled clear seawater would gather at his will. His power of hydrokinesis under the Water Law was particularly powerful within the world of the Myriad Sea God Palace.
Swish!
Vaan’s figure vanished within the blink of an eye upon entering the darker body of seawater on the aqueduct bridge.
He easily caught up with Deacon Quintus within moments, surprising the latter. On the other hand, the two fish-men left behind were completely dumbfounded after witnessing his movement directly. 𝔯à𐌽Ỗ𝐁ÈS̈
They could not regard such means of travel as swimming.
After all, Vaan did not exert any physical effort whatsoever. Instead, the water carried him to his destination.
Noble Beings certainly couldn’t be underestimated. In fact, they were on a whole different level compared to all other life forms in the sea.
"So this is a Noble Being... How envious it is to be born blessed by the Progenitor of the Seas and Skies," the White Shark Fishman uttered.
Meanwhile, Deacon Quintus recovered his wits and continued to lead the way to the Registration Hall, where new Outer Palace disciples receive their official identifications, resources, and rulebooks.
At the other end of the aqueduct bridge, the seawater current plunged steeply like an underwater waterfall.
At the same time, an enormous city filled with towering emerald-jade structures and buildings could be seen ahead, surrounded by oceanic ridges on all sides like an underwater crater.
Various one-way seawater currents could also be discovered freely flowing to different places around the underwater jade city.
Evidently, they were express routes for fish-men to travel around the underwater jade city.
If Vaan hadn’t been informed beforehand, he would have believed the underwater jade city was the Outer Palace.
However, the entire jade city was just the Registration Hall, a single small aspect of the Outer Palace. Moreover, it wasn’t the only one in the Myriad Sea God Palace’s Outer Palace.
The scale of places in the Myriad Sea God Palace simply couldn’t be measured by Pangean standards.
Nevertheless, as Vaan studied the layout of the Outer Palace’s Registration Hall in the Fish-men Region, he found the enormous bright water sphere looming over the top of the underwater jade city to be the most eye-catching aspect of the area.
When Deacon Quintus noticed Vaan’s attention on the illuminating water sphere above the city, he believed the latter didn’t know what it was or it did.
"That bright water orb is called a Stellar Decoder. As its name suggests, it unpackages the hidden information contained within starlight and converts it into linguistic or numerical forms that we can understand. Everyone here relies on it to keep in contact and up to date with the rest of the worlds within the Myriad Sea God Palace and beyond," Deacon Quintus explained.
In essence, the stars were transmitters and receivers to each other, creating an infinitely vast network that spanned across all of Chaos.
Vaan was quite impressed when he learned about this.
However, he still had his doubts considering the vast scale of the Myriad Sea God Palace.
After all, even if the information in starlight reached the correct destination, wouldn’t the information be outdated or too late if it only traveled at lightspeed?
