Chapter 1131: A Layered Trap
Chapter 1131: A Layered Trap
(The Fourth Dimension)
*Clench*
*Tremble*
Listening to Leo disrespect him so blatantly, Yu Kiro felt his anger flare violently within his chest, as he tightened his grip on his spear while his aura surged outward in response to the insult.
"Alright, you loudmouth, since you want to see the gap between heaven and earth, let me educate you properly," Yu Kiro said, as he lunged forward with his spear aimed directly at Leo’s heart.
*WOOSH*
He moved with the overwhelming speed of a God, as space folded beneath his advance while the spear in his hand gathered an insane amount of divine essence at its tip.
Yet what followed defied his expectations completely, as the moment the spear reached striking range, Leo shifted slightly and let the attack pass beside him as though the motion had unfolded in slow motion before his eyes.
*PASS*
There was no strain in his movement, no desperate evasion, as he sidestepped the thrust with minimal displacement while maintaining perfect balance, as though he had already known exactly where the attack would land.
’WHAT?’
Yu Kiro thought in panic, as his eyes narrowed, his mind unable to accept this absurd outcome as he continued the motion without pause, chaining the first thrust into a relentless sequence of stabs that pierced forward one after another without giving Leo space to breathe.
*WOOSH*
*WOOSH*
*WOOSH*
Each strike came layered with deceptive intent, as the trajectory of his spear shifted mid motion while his aura masked the true direction of his attacks, creating patterns even seasoned Gods struggled to interpret correctly.
And yet, Leo moved through it all effortlessly, as he slipped between every incoming strike with the smallest possible adjustments, his body weaving through the barrage with a level of control that made the entire exchange look almost unreal.
*DODGE*
There was no wasted motion in his defense, as every step, every tilt, and every shift aligned perfectly with the flow of the attacks, making it seem as though Yu Kiro’s assault had been rehearsed rather than unleashed in real combat.
’What in the actual hell...?’ Yu Kiro thought, as for the first time since entering the battlefield, a flicker of disbelief surfaced within his mind while the impossibility of what he was witnessing began to settle in.
Even if Leo could perceive intent, predicting the exact landing point of his attacks should have been impossible, as his technique was built upon layered deception that disrupted even divine level perception.
And yet that logic failed him here, as every strike he delivered continued to miss by margins too precise to dismiss as coincidence, forcing him to acknowledge that something far deeper was at play.
’Is he using some secret Cult technique I’m not aware of?’
He wondered, as he tried to search for a theory that could justify this absurdity unfolding before him.
However, while he did that, Veyr acted without hesitation, as from his blind spot a blade cut through the distorted space behind him with sharp and deliberate timing.
*SHING*
The shift forced Yu Kiro to pivot instantly, as he turned to intercept the incoming strike while bringing his spear across his body to block the attack that threatened to slice into his flank.
*Block*
The collision rang through the fourth dimension with violent force, as the impact sent ripples through the surrounding space, while Leo transitioned immediately from dodging to attack, as he tried to make the most of the opening that Veyr had created for him.
*SHING*
He attacked Yu Kiro without delay, pressing into his defence from the other side, as he forced the God into a narrow window where blocking and retreating was his only option.
*Block*
*Run*
Without hesitation, Yu Kiro activated one of his defensive talismans, as an invisible barrier formed around him and absorbed Leo’s attack, while he himself ran immediately, as he disengaged from the exchange and retreated to create distance while reassessing the situation with a gaze that had now grown noticeably sharper.
For the first time since the battle began, he understood that this was not a confrontation he could resolve through dominance alone, as the assumptions he had carried into the fight no longer held true.
"Huh, General Sparrow.... Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t someone going to teach us a lesson in respect?" Leo said from the side, as his tone carried open mockery while he observed Yu Kiro with contempt in his eyes.
"Yeah, Cult Master, I thought someone was going to humble us, but looking at his face, I think someone else got humbled instead," Veyr replied, as a quiet chuckle escaped him while Yu Kiro’s expression darkened further.
For a moment, there was silence, as the tension between them stretched across the unstable fabric of the fourth dimension, as neither side moved.
Until—
"ENOUGH!" Yu Kiro roared at last, as his voice tore through the void while his aura surged violently outward, expanding to its absolute peak as the faint shade of red around him deepened into something far darker.
*FWOOSH*
The pressure around him intensified with each passing second, as both Leo and Veyr watched the shift carefully while the change in his aura made it clear that his emotional stability was beginning to fracture under the weight of his anger.
On most days, Yu Kiro was not a man bound by false bravado, as he had never hesitated to retreat against opponents he deemed dangerous, and in past battles against other Gods, survival had always taken precedence over pride.
However, this situation was different, as the opponents before him were not Gods but Demi Gods, and even if this battle turned against him, he did not feel any threat being posed to his life facing them.
That distinction mattered, because while fear could have overridden his pride in the face of true danger, here there was only insult, and insult alone was not something Yu Kiro had ever learned to tolerate quietly.
And so, as that anger burned unchecked within him, his thoughts simplified into something far more dangerous, as the only question left in his mind was how to eliminate both enemies standing before him without delay.
And that reaction was exactly what Leo had been waiting for.
As from the very beginning of the encounter, he had chosen not to reveal the Origin Blade in his possession too early, precisely because exposing that weapon would have introduced a level of threat that would have made Yu Kiro turn more careful.
With there being a chance that the God retreated and ran for his life once he realized that there was real danger of him taking permanent damage.
So instead, Leo had chosen restraint, as he allowed the fight to unfold naturally while carefully guiding Yu Kiro deeper into the engagement, ensuring that pride anchored him in place rather than caution pulling him away.
The longer the battle continued, the more Yu Kiro committed himself to it, the closer Leo felt to achieving victory, as he predicted that the longer they fought, the more chances he would get to unleash his ultimate move.
Which was why, as he watched Yu Kiro’s aura spiral further into instability, his mind remained calm and focused on a single objective.....
Which was to create the opening he needed to unleash the Boss’s Execution, and end this fight, for once and for all.
