Chapter 1132: Desperation
Chapter 1132: Desperation
(The Fourth Dimension)
Once Yu Kiro decided to get completely serious, the tone of the battle shifted immediately, as gone were the probing exchanges that tried to establish his dominance through raw speed and strength alone, and in their place emerged techniques that had carved his legend across centuries of war.
"[Heaven Rend Pierce]," Yu Kiro intoned, as his spear drew back while the surrounding fourth dimensional space bent inward toward its tip like a collapsing star.
*WOOSH*
He thrust forward, as the strike tore through reality itself while a spiraling cone of compressed divine essence surged outward, threatening to erase everything along its path.
Leo’s eyes sharpened instantly, as he stepped forward instead of retreating while activating [Enhance], his muscles surging with amplified strength as he raised his daggers to meet the incoming force.
*CLANG*
*Block*
The impact detonated across the void, as shockwaves rippled outward violently while Leo’s arms trembled under the sheer pressure of the strike before he redirected it just enough to not pick damage.
’Yu Kiro is still stronger than me when it comes to skill output, but the gap between us is not a chasm.
It’s manageable for sure....’
Leo calculated, as his feet slid back slightly through warped space while his control held firm against the overwhelming force.
"Blocked that? How about you try to block this next?"
Yu Kiro said, as he was about to chain another attack, however, before he could do so, Veyr appeared from the side with his blade already in motion, as he slashed toward the God’s flank with perfect timing.
*SHING*
Yu Kiro pivoted instantly to block, yet the moment his spear intercepted Veyr’s strike, Leo re-entered the exchange from the opposite angle without hesitation.
*WOOSH*
*SLASH*
Leo slipped forward using [Fade Step], his body phasing through a narrow distortion in space as he closed the distance and struck toward Yu Kiro’s exposed side.
*Block*
Yu Kiro raised a defensive talisman in time, yet the force of Leo’s strike still forced him to shift position slightly, breaking the flow of his counterattack before it could fully form.
*Step*
*Step*
That single disruption was all it took to shift the balance, as from that moment onward the rhythm of the battle refused to settle in Yu Kiro’s favor again, with every attempt he made to build momentum being cut short by either Leo or Veyr stepping in at precisely the right instant.
They moved as though guided by a shared instinct rather than coordination alone, their actions flowing seamlessly into one another as pressure remained constant and the battlefield never once opened enough for Yu Kiro to establish control over the exchange.
’This is absurd...’ Yu Kiro thought, as frustration began creeping into his focus while his spear carved through the battlefield in increasingly aggressive patterns.
"[Void Spiral Breaker]," he roared, as his weapon spun with terrifying speed while tearing open layered distortions that twisted the fourth dimension into a collapsing vortex.
*WHRRRRR*
The attack surged outward unpredictably, as space fractured into shifting planes that would have disoriented even seasoned Gods.
Yet Leo moved through it calmly, as his perception adapted to the distortions while he threaded his path between collapsing fragments as though he understood the laws of space better than even Yu Kiro.
*WOOSH*
At the same time, Veyr dove through the unstable field from above, as he adjusted mid motion to align with the shifting geometry before striking downward with full force.
[Mountain Splitting Slash]
*SHING*
Yu Kiro blocked again, yet the moment his spear met Veyr’s blade, Leo was already there, as he slipped into range and drove a dagger toward Yu Kiro’s ribs.
*Block*
Another talisman shattered under the pressure, as Yu Kiro was forced to disengage once more while his aura flared violently around him.
For the first time in a long time, he felt something he had not expected to feel here.
Pressure.
Not the kind that threatened his life.
But the kind that denied him control, and forced him to take a battle more seriously than he would have wanted.
’Individually, they fall short...’ Yu Kiro thought, as his gaze sharpened while he reassessed the battlefield with growing irritation.
’But together... they are disrupting everything.’
He assessed, as opposite him, Leo also came to a similar conclusion.
’I can feel it clearly...’ Leo thought, as he deflected another strike while adjusting his stance to maintain balance.
’I’m still just short of matching a God alone... unless I use the laws and start using Seconds Walk.’
His eyes flicked briefly toward Veyr.
’But together... we control the pace.’
That realization grounded him, as he pressed forward once again without hesitation.
From the other side, Veyr felt the intensity building with every exchange, as his body pushed against limits he had never fully reached before.
Right now, he was operating at a level that he had never expected, as each strike from him demanded a level of commitment that he wasn’t completely sure of.
And each mistake carried with it a consequence, he wasn’t sure he could pay.
’This is it...’ Veyr thought, as he parried another attack while shifting into position for the next exchange.
’This is the absolute limit of what I can do.’
His breathing remained steady, yet his awareness sharpened to an extreme, as the fight forced everything out of him in its entirety.
Still, he did not falter.
Because as long as Leo remained in sync with him, the battle remained balanced.
And as long as the balance held—
Yu Kiro could not win.
*WOOSH* *SHING* *CLANG*
The battlefield roared with continuous collisions, as divine techniques clashed against coordinated precision while the fourth dimension itself warped violently under their exchange.
As the longer the fight went on, the more desperate Yu Kiro grew to break the stalemate and establish dominance.
’I am a God damn it! I should not struggle against mere Demi Gods.
Is this what I’m reduced to?
Is this the true limit of my strength?’
Yu Kiro wondered, as he felt himself incapable of accepting the outcome that he could not even overpower two Demi Gods alone.
Which was why he started to take increasingly bolder risks.
Risks.... That he would usually avoid.
Risks... that could potentially give Leo the opening he was waiting for.
