Chapter 110 Part 1 – A Regular at the Police Station (I)

The expressions of Fan Xiaoman’s group shifted. They clearly hadn’t expected Hao Jian to be this despicable.

“Hao Jian, don’t you dare!” Fan Xiaoman stepped in front of Xia Mian and the others, shouting furiously.

Hao Jian sneered, “Fan Xiaoman, just because we call you ‘Sister Fan’ sometimes, you really think you’re somebody now? If the Thirteen Protectors really want to do something, it’s not your place to speak.”

As he said that, his eyes swept over to Han Haoyan, the corners of his mouth lifting with malicious intent. “Didn’t you have a thing for that pretty boy? Fine, let’s make him your man.”

“If he refused, we’ll spread those girls’ photos everywhere. See if he doesn’t come crawling.”

“You wasted all that time chasing him around?” Hao Jian clicked his tongue and shook his head. “This is why I say women are useless. Always hesitant, always worried. The Thirteen Protectors’ reputation is being dragged down by you lot.”

Fan Xiaoman’s face darkened with rage. “Hao Jian, you piece of shit! You think everyone’s as disgusting as you? Go f*ck yourself!”

Hao Jian spat on the ground and sneered, “You’d better watch that mouth, or I’ll deal with you too. What’s so great about being some ‘big sister’? Be one of our women instead. See if you can still act so high and mighty.”

“F*ck off!” Zhao Cheng couldn’t take it anymore. “Hao Jian, you’re a goddamn animal!”

Hao Jian burst out laughing as if he’d just been complimented. “That’s it? You think this is animalistic? You sheltered prep kids haven’t seen anything yet. I’ll show you what the real world looks like.”

His sleazy eyes swept dangerously over the girls again, finally resting on Xia Mian, laughing darkly. “Miss Xia, what’s with the pose? Can’t wait to show them what the world’s really like?”

“Attempted blackmail and sexual assault.” Xia Mian calmly adjusted the hem of her long skirt. Then she pulled the ankle-length fabric up and tied a knot high on her thigh, revealing a pair of slender, fair legs.

Once she was sure she could move freely, she looked up at the piece of garbage in front of her. “Hao Jian, it’s been over a year, and you’ve somehow become even more pathetic.”

Hao Jian’s eyes were practically glued to her legs. He licked his lips and glanced down at his own crotch, suggestively saying, “You’ll know if I’m pathetic after you try me.”

His men let out disgusting, leering laughs.

Sun Yuexin’s face flushed with rage. Zhao Cheng and Han Haoyan clenched their fists tightly.

Xia Mian’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Hao Jian pushed aside the girl he had his arm around and grinned repulsively. “You don’t need to record this yourself today. We brought DV and cameras—gonna film everything. Whatever we want, however we want it.”

“You’ll be first. Let’s make a long recording.” Then he waved his hand and shouted to his gang, “Go!”

Seeing Zhao Cheng and Han Haoyan bracing themselves, he laughed maniacally. “Hold down those goody-two-shoes dudes too. We’ll show them the real world!”

“I’ll handle the skirted beauty myself. The rest of the girls? You guys go wild.”

Everyone who followed the orders from Hao Jian was clearly cut from the same cloth—sleazy lowlifes who’d been on the streets for years. Hearing his words, they immediately raised their sticks and charged excitedly.

“Haha, schoolgirls again.”

“Nothing better than schoolgirls.”

“The way they cry? Really exciting…”

A chorus of filth filled the air. Sun Yuexin was shaking with fury.

Even Fan Xiaoman couldn’t hold back anymore. She stopped bothering with words and rushed forward with her gang to fight.

Hao Jian had clearly prepared well this time. Not only did he bring twice as many people, but they were all armed.

Han Haoyan charged first, taking a hit on the arm as he grabbed a stick and stood firmly in front of the girls. “You all go! Climb the wall and get out!”

Sun Yuexin glanced back at the rear wall. “They’ve got people guarding it—we can’t get out!”

Zhao Cheng said, “Then head to the corner!”

No sooner had he spoken than Li Lizhen’s face paled. “They’re circling around! They’re flanking from the back!”

Hao Jian might be scum, but he was cautious. To prevent them from escaping, he had his people wrap around from the rear, forcing them into the center of the sports field, surrounded on all sides. With only Zhao Cheng, Han Haoyan, and the four boys Fan Xiaoman brought, there was no way they could shield everyone.

Sure enough, as soon as the group was cornered, one of the thugs rushed up first.

These guys weren’t holding back just because their opponents were women—one of them swung a stick straight at Sun Yuexin.

She instinctively covered her head and hunched over, bracing for the blow—

But just then, a foot shot out from the side, kicking the thug off balance.

It was Fan Xiaoman. As a member of the Thirteen Protectors, she clearly had skills. After kicking the guy aside, she moved fast and snatched the stick from his hands.

Inspired, Sun Yuexin tried to grab a weapon herself. Ear-Piercing Girl and Ponytail Girl joined the fight, barely managing to hold their ground.

Xia Mian had just been about to step in when Li Lizhen yanked her back and clutched her arm tightly. “Xia Mian, what are you doing! Hao Jian’s targeting you! Stay in the middle and don’t move!”

Even Han Haoyan, in the thick of the chaos, shouted, “Stay right in the center! Don’t worry, we won’t let them touch you!”

Xia Mian looked at her arm, which was being held in a death grip, feeling a bit amused. At the same time, she was genuinely touched. She had been about to charge out, but Li Lizhen had managed to pull her back. Judging by the strength, the girl must have used every ounce of it.

Li Lizhen’s hands were still trembling faintly. Not surprising—this must be her first time facing something so terrifying. How could she not be scared? And if they failed to get away… the fate waiting for girls like them was something they couldn’t even bear thinking about.

Xia Mian gently patted her hand, then reached out and hugged her, softly patting her back. “Relax, it’s okay. Don’t be scared.”

On the other side, Hao Jian saw Xia Mian and Li Lizhen hugging each other and trembling, and he got even more excited. “Miss Xia, don’t struggle. You can’t run. Come on out nicely, and maybe your friends won’t end up with a few broken ribs.”

Xia Mian suddenly turned her head. From several meters away, she looked directly at him and gave him a cold, mocking smile. “You should worry about yourself. I guarantee they’ll all be fine today.”

“But you? Your ending won’t be so simple. I’m not running. I want to see if you have what it takes to catch me.”

“What a big mouth!” Hao Jian was instantly enraged by her contemptuous look and stormed toward her with a steel rod in hand. “I like your fire. Let’s see how long you can keep it up.”

Xia Mian turned to Zhao Cheng and the others. “In a bit, make sure you block off the back wall. Don’t let any of them get away.”

“Especially those two with the DV and camera. They’re key evidence for putting Hao Jian behind bars.”

Zhao Cheng kicked one of the thugs aside and said, “Xia Mian, are you so nervous your brain’s scrambled? They’re stopping us from escaping, not the other way around!”

“And can we stop worrying about legal evidence for now? Just focus on keeping yourself safe!” He said it all in a rush and didn’t have time for more.

Xia Mian smiled and said, “Just do what I said later.” As Hao Jian got closer, she patted both Li Lizhen and Sun Yuexin on the shoulders and smiled, “You guys have protected me for over a year—this time, it’s my turn!”

Before Zhao Cheng and the others could even react to what she meant, Xia Mian suddenly dashed a few steps forward and broke out of the protective circle.

“Xia Mian!” Sun Yuexin and Li Lizhen shouted in unison.

Zhao Cheng also panicked. “Hey—!”

But Xia Mian suddenly ducked low and punched one of the oncoming thugs right in the gut. The guy doubled over immediately, dropping his wooden stick, which Xia Mian caught effortlessly and passed back to Sun Yuexin. “Take care of yourselves—and don’t let them escape.”

“Uh… okay…” Sun Yuexin took the stick in a daze. She and Li Lizhen then stood there and watched Xia Mian repeat the same technique. Within a minute, she’d disarmed four or five thugs, tossing the sticks and metal rods to her side. Every thug she faced went down in a single move: clean, efficient, no wasted motion.

“If you’ve got strength, feel free to hit them with their weapons.”

Soon, the area in front of her was littered with groaning bodies. Ear-Piercing Girl held up a stick, keeping guard while staring blankly at Xia Mian, who was in full combat mode. She muttered, “Oh my god… thank god we didn’t try to fight her earlier.”

Fan Xiaoman bashed another opponent back to the ground with her stick. She’d always been confident in her own skills, but now, watching Xia Mian’s back, she muttered in disbelief, “What kind of training has she done?”

Sun Yuexin and Li Lizhen had the same stunned expressions.

“She said she doesn’t like violence,” Sun Yuexin said numbly.

“She said she prefers to convince people with reason,” Li Lizhen echoed in the same hollow tone.

Zhao Cheng muttered, “This has gotta be a dream, right?”

With Hao Jian’s thugs getting wrecked and weapons now in their hands, their pressure eased. Han Haoyan, who had been fully focused on fighting, finally had a moment to look up and immediately froze in shock. “What the—what happened?”

He stared in disbelief. “Why did Xia Mian run out—”

His first instinct was that she was in danger, and he rushed after her. But then he saw the girl, who usually claimed to hate violence, facing off against a guy nearly twice her own weight.

She took two running steps, stepped onto the guy’s knee, and launched herself into the air, driving a brutal knee strike right into his ribcage under the arm.

With a scream, the guy collapsed to the ground. Everyone watching shuddered involuntarily.

“What the hell is happening?” Han Haoyan was stunned, and for a moment, he had the same surreal feeling as Zhao Cheng.

But the disbelief quickly faded when more of the thugs tried to stand up, only to find out firsthand how painful it really was.

Hao Jian had already stopped advancing the moment Xia Mian started disarming his men. Now, seeing even his biggest, strongest bodyguard crumple, he instinctively took a step back.

Xia Mian smiled faintly at him. “What’s wrong? Scared of me?”

“Weren’t you going to show me how much of a man you are? Come on! I’m not running.”

She looked down at her empty hands, then bent to pick up a wooden stick by her feet. At that moment, a thug suddenly lunged at her from the side in a sneak attack.

He raised a steel rod and swung it down toward Xia Mian’s back—

Zhao Cheng and the others all cried out in horror:

“Xia Mian, watch out!”

“Hey!”

“Ahhh! Look out!!”

Just when everyone thought Xia Mian was about to take a hit, she moved as if she had eyes on the back of her head. With a swift sweeping kick, the thug hadn’t even swung his iron rod before he was flat on his back with a loud crash. Xia Mian caught the falling rod mid-air and, with one clean swing, struck him hard in the chest, causing her attacker to collapse instantly.

Xia Mian stood up and twirled the iron rod once. The sharp whoosh it cut through the air sent a chill crawling up Hao Jian’s spine.

Apparently finding the rod not quite to her liking, Xia Mian switched it out for a wooden stick instead and planted it on the ground like a cane. Looking at Hao Jian, she smiled mockingly, “Huh? Still not coming over? What, really scared of me? Hahaha. So much for all the disgusting things you did. This is the coward behind them all?”

Hao Jian’s face turned ashen with rage. He shouted, “She’s just one damn girl! Everyone, get her!”
