Chapter 133 Part 3 – Xiao Feng Got Into a Fight at School (III)

“Auntie!”

“Sister Mian!”

“Uncle!”

Xia Mian rushed over, gently lifting their clothes and checking them over. Once she confirmed no one was hurt, she finally let out a breath. “What exactly happened?”

A few more parents arrived one after another, most of them checking their kids first before asking the teacher what had gone down.

Teacher Liu, overwhelmed by the chaotic shouting, said, “Let’s wait until all the parents are here. I’ll explain everything at once.”

Just then, a large, burly man stormed in, full of aggression. “What’s going on? Who bullied our child?”

Behind him, a plump woman rushed in and immediately dashed over to the burliest of the boys, crying out in distress, “Baby! My darling, who did this to you? Who?!”

The boy immediately pointed at the little girl and Xiao Feng’s group and shouted arrogantly, “It was Pighead Girl and the Three Musketeers!”

Xia Mian glanced at the three children and was surprised to find they even had a team name at their age.

The boy swept a smug gaze over them, even casting a disdainful glance at Xia Mian, utterly full of himself.

Xia Mian quickly realized where his arrogance came from. The woman didn’t bother asking what had happened and went straight for the little girl.

The teacher rushed to stop her. “Mrs. Fu, calm down! It was Fu Peng who started it.”

The woman’s eyes widened. “How could that be? Ms. Liu, are you seriously lying to my face?! Just look at my son’s injuries!”

As she spoke, she pushed the teacher aside and reached for the little girl. Xiao Feng immediately stepped in front of her. “Fu Peng bullied Ding Sijin first!”

Mrs. Fu glared at him viciously. “And who the hell are you, brat? This isn’t your business.”

Fu Peng quickly shouted, “Mom! It was him too! He hit me!”

“Oh, I see! You’re all rotten to the core at this age…” Mrs. Fu snarled, reaching out to grab Xiao Feng.

But Xia Mian grabbed her wrist and said coldly, “Ma’am, I suggest you watch your tone. The facts aren’t even clear yet. You don’t get to decide what happened!”

“If we’re going by injuries alone, that little girl is clearly hurt worse than your son! Don’t play dumb and try to bully others here!”

The woman tried to yank her arm back, only to realize Xia Mian’s grip was terrifyingly strong. She snapped, “And who are you? What business is this of yours?”

“I’m the guardian of these children,” Xia Mian said. “So tell me—do you think it’s my business now, or not?”

Fu Peng immediately shouted, “You’re lying! Pighead Girl doesn’t have a mom or dad! She is unwanted!”

Xia Mian shoved Mrs. Fu back and sneered. “Now it makes sense—went straight for the little girl, huh?”

“Just a classic bully, picking on the weak.”

“You slut, what did you just say?!” Fu Peng’s father pointed at Xia Mian, yelling, “If you’ve got guts, say that again!”

He charged toward her, looking ready to hit. “I swear, if I don’t beat the crap out of you to—augh!”

A sudden scream startled everyone. The next second, everyone watched with wide eyes as the hulking man dropped to his knees with a loud thud, shaking the floor slightly.

All heads turned as the handsome young man, who had been silent until now, calmly withdrew his leg. With effortless control, he kept his opponent’s arm locked in place and asked, voice cool and steady, “Who were you threatening just now? Who exactly were you planning to hit?”

Mr. Fu’s face turned bright red from the pain. He opened his mouth, “You bastard—augh! Aghhh—!”

“Husband!” Mrs. Fu screamed and lunged at Ning Shaobai. He simply raised a leg and kicked the man square in the back, pinning him to the ground underfoot.

The man probably didn’t even realize what had happened. He was completely stunned.

So were Fu Peng and his mother.

Ning Shaobai gave the family of three a cold, disdainful stare. “Can we be quiet now and let the teacher speak?”

Mrs. Fu blustered weakly, “Let him go right now!”

Ning Shaobai’s answer was a sudden increase of pressure from his foot.

Mr. Fu howled again, finally unable to endure. “Shut your damn mouth, woman!”

Mrs. Fu immediately fell silent. Only then did Ning Shaobai lift his foot and release the man.

She quickly rushed to help her husband and led him away from Ning Shaobai. Clearly humiliated, Mr. Fu shook off her hand and stormed out the door without a word.

With no choice, Mrs. Fu was forced to stay behind, now standing quietly next to a much more subdued Fu Peng.

Xia Mian turned back. “Ms. Liu, please continue. What exactly happened?”

Ms. Liu finally came back to her senses and quickly explained, “Right, here’s what happened—”

“Fu Peng’s been bullying Ding Sijin with a group of boys for a while. Today, they tore up her books and dumped ink all over her desk.”

“Xia Yufeng helped her glue her books back together, but Fu Peng and his group couldn’t stand it and tried to gang up on him too.”

“That’s when Mao Huizhu and Zhou Yuchen stepped in to help Xia Yufeng, and then the whole fight broke out.”

They were, after all, only nine or ten years old—just children, and the scuffle hadn’t caused any serious injuries. Even so, it wasn’t something that could be overlooked.

Teacher Liu turned to the parents of the bullies and said, “There have been some problems at Ding Sijin’s home. Right now, she’s being raised by her grandmother alone. It’s already tough enough for her. Having the other children bully her over this isn’t right. I hope you’ll talk to your kids properly when you get home.”

Most parents looked embarrassed; a few remained nonchalant.

Suddenly, Chenchen spoke up in a cool, serious tone. “Fu Peng even used a compass to stab Ding Sijin. Those boys hit her, and now she’s hurt and doesn’t have money for medicine.”

“They should pay it!”

“And her ripped textbooks, broken pencil case, and spilled ink—they need to replace all of it.”

The parents exchanged uneasy glances. No one liked the sound of having to pay compensation.

Xia Mian reached out to grab Ding Sijin. Ignoring the girl’s fierce struggle, she pulled back her clothes to check her back and stomach—sure enough, there were bruises.

She glanced around, then brought the girl to the office washbasin and gently washed her dirty hands and arms. There were clear puncture marks and bruises on her skin.

Then Xia Mian carried her straight to stand in front of Mrs. Fu. “Medical costs and mental damage compensation, pay up! Start with fifty yuan.”

No one had expected Xia Mian to step up for Ding Sijin, let alone confront the most unreasonable parent head-on. Everyone was a bit surprised.

Mrs. Fu jumped up. “We haven’t even asked you for compensation yet, and now you’re asking us for money?”

She glanced warily at Ning Shaobai and, clearly intimidated, held back from saying anything too harsh. “Little girl, don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. What’s that little bastard got to do with you?!”

“Who are you calling a bastard?” Xia Mian snapped. “You’re only acting tough because she doesn’t have a parent here, right?”

“Well, I’m her guardian today. So pay up!”

The little girl stiffened in her arms, and Xia Mian suddenly felt a pang in her chest.

Then Xiao Feng quietly spoke up. “Ding Sijin isn’t a bastard. And she’s not ‘Pighead Girl’ either.”

“Her dad was a martyr.” The boy looked up at the adults, his dark, grape-like eyes full of confusion. “He died to protect us. Shouldn’t we be protecting her?”

“Why are we bullying her instead?”

That simple, innocent question hit everyone in the heart. A few parents looked deeply ashamed and started pulling out money to give to Ding Sijin.

“Alas, our kid was in the wrong today. We’ll make sure to teach them properly at home.”

“Here, take this. It’s not much, but buy her something nutritious.”

“This is to replace your school supplies.”

Xia Mian turned to face the mother and son pair, who still looked defiant. Her voice went cold.

“Fifty yuan. Not a cent less—or you’re not leaving.”
