Transmigrating into the Genius Cannon Fodder’s Aunt

Extra 4 – Drunken Regret

Extra 4 – Drunken Regret

Xia Mian lay on the bed, half-dead, regretting getting drunk that day for the hundredth time already. A starved wolf was already terrifying enough once unchained, and she had even personally handed him every imaginable seasoning. It was practically asking to die faster!

Ning Shaobai walked in carrying what was either breakfast or lunch. Seeing her condition, he couldn’t help but laugh. He bent down, kissed her lips, and skillfully reached out to massage her aching waist.

“Tired?”

“I’m dying,” Xia Mian stared at him lifelessly. “Dr. Ning, this is how you repay kindness with cruelty…”

“Nonsense.” Ning Shaobai wrapped an arm around her waist and lifted her into his embrace. “I simply didn’t want to waste your thoughtful intentions.”

“I never knew you had so many…”

Xia Mian immediately covered his mouth and glared at him. “Don’t you dare say it!”

That drunken episode had left behind far too many consequences. Worse still, Ning Shaobai had happened to be testing Mohe’s latest product, still in development, that could record videos directly.

He had recorded quite a few videos of her. The most embarrassing wasn’t the one where she was “held hostage” by a popsicle, but the various “lessons” she had given him…

To be honest, Xia Mian herself hadn’t known she knew that much…

Blushing furiously, she threatened him again. “If you keep talking, I’m really going to get mad!”

Ning Shaobai stuck out his tongue and lightly licked her palm. Startled, Xia Mian instinctively let go.

Still holding her wrist, he smiled. “I was only going to say that you have so many affections for me.”

“When all those love letters came flying toward me, I truly felt like you had given me the whole world.”

He brushed another kiss across her lips.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Xia Mian made a humble request. “If I’ve already given you the whole world, then will you let me go see the world outside?”

“We’re supposed to be on our honeymoon!”

They had been here for five days, and she hadn’t stepped outside the room even once!

Ning Shaobai looked at her and suddenly smiled, “Well, we are not having an imprisonment play right now…”

Xia Mian: “…”

Furious, she bit him. “Keep talking and I’ll hit you!”

Their wedding had already been over for a week. It had been lavish and magnificent. Before all their family and friends, Ning Shaobai had given her the very best of everything, while she had given him unforgettable emotion and surprise.

When the officiant asked Xia Mian whether she was willing to marry Ning Shaobai and stay by his side for the rest of her life, she answered with unwavering conviction.

At that very moment, a thousand small helium balloons rose from beneath the stage, crowding together above their heads. Hanging from every balloon was a paper airplane with a handwritten love note.

The moment Ning Shaobai looked up, he could see them all.

He looked at her with a face overflowing with happiness. Xia Mian even caught the glimmer of tears in his eyes. As he held her in his arms, her own vision blurred with tears for no apparent reason. She simply felt like the happiest person in the world.

But that had been an illusion. A complete illusion!

All she could say was that Ning Shaobai was far too cunning.

On their wedding night, when he pinned her firmly onto the carved mahogany bed, Xia Mian thought she was done for. She had braced herself mentally, yet after waiting so long, Ning Shaobai had turned out to be unexpectedly gentle, considerate, and endlessly patient.

It reminded Xia Mian of the incident with the box of love letters before they officially started dating. She thought he was only trying to scare her and couldn’t bear to bully her too much. So she almost immediately lowered her guard and entrusted herself to him completely.

And then?

The next day, on the flight to their honeymoon destination, Xia Mian was still enjoying his meticulous care, suspecting nothing when he told her to rest well and conserve her energy so she could have fun.

As it turned out, all that talk about “conserving energy” wasn’t for her benefit at all—it was simply so he could toy with her to his heart’s content!

The moment they arrived at the hotel, the refined, restrained Dr. Ning completely shed his gentlemanly facade and revealed the true face of a savage wolf.

The suitcase he had been keeping mysteriously hidden was finally opened. The instant Xia Mian saw several sets of uniforms inside, she sensed trouble.

But by then, it was already too late…

“Turns out people are correct. Once you got married, your man stops cherishing you…” Leaning against Ning Shaobai’s shoulder, Xia Mian pretended to sob. “Back then, you’d grant every request I made…”

Now, whenever she begged him, he only took things even further!

“There, there, don’t cry,” Ning Shaobai comforted her with exaggerated seriousness, even using his thumb to wipe away tears that weren’t there. Looking into her eyes, he said earnestly,

“Wasn’t I just trying to master everything Teacher Xia taught me as quickly as possible?”

He enunciated the words “Teacher Xia” with particular clarity.

As if remembering something, a mischievous smile appeared in his eyes. “But Teacher Xia truly lives up to her reputation. Hands-on learning is incredibly effective!”

Xia Mian: “…”

Having had enough, Xia Mian pinned him down and gave him a good beating before Ning Shaobai finally took her outside for some fresh air.

This era wasn’t nearly as crowded as the future. The air was cleaner, there was far less pollution, the sky was a brilliant blue, and the sea was crystal clear.

They swam together in the shallow water, playing with schools of little fish. They strolled hand in hand along the beach, laughing and teasing each other. As the sun set, they kissed beneath the golden afterglow. It was a wonderfully full and sweet day.

“Now this is what a honeymoon should be!” Xia Mian declared as she flopped onto the sofa back at the hotel, finally feeling refreshed in both body and mind.

Ning Shaobai bent down and ruffled her hair. “Let’s have dinner in the room tonight. I’ll go order the meal—you get some rest.”

Without suspecting a thing, Xia Mian closed her eyes and nodded.

Half an hour later, however, she expressionlessly glanced over the lavish dinner before fixing her gaze on the two bottles of liquor. Her sharp eyes turned toward Ning Shaobai.

“Dr. Ning… what exactly is the meaning of this?”

Putting on the face of perfect innocence, Ning Shaobai answered, “You seemed a little tired today, so I thought you could drink a bit. Besides, you know yourself—after you’ve had alcohol, you’re full of energy.”

At night, what would anyone need that much energy for?! Grinding her teeth, Xia Mian said to him, “As a doctor, you’re actually encouraging your wife to drink hard liquor late at night?”

She looked at the two entire bottles and laughed out of sheer exasperation. “And this much, no less. Doesn’t that go against your professional ethics?”

“Good point.” Ning Shaobai tilted his head thoughtfully. “A doctor really shouldn’t be encouraging a patient to drink.”

Something about the way he said patient felt odd to Xia Mian.

Before she could think it through, he continued, stroking his chin in solemn contemplation.

“But it wouldn’t make sense for a student to make a teacher drink either. A prison warden serving alcohol to a prisoner is out of the question. An officer…? That doesn’t quite work either…”

“So, Teacher Xia… is this today’s new lesson?”

“What sort of profession would make it appropriate to drink this much?”

Xia Mian: “…”

When did I ever say I was teaching a class?!

Author’s Note:

Dr. Ning has taken over the responsibility of starting the class, and here is today’s assignment: Teacher Xia, what kind of ‘play’ should we do tonight?

Hehehe…
