Chapter 550
Chapter 550: Chapter 550
"You need to put on some weight, brat. Girls like muscular men." Zarion grinned as he patted Harud’s shoulder, expecting him to flinch or show signs of pain, but the Mir just smiled back at him.
"I am fine, Lord Zarion."
"No, you are not. You are skinny as hell." The man disapprovingly shook his head.
"He’s fine, Father!" Reha suddenly called out, making the Nemerus freeze, and when he heard his wife’s giggle, he sighed in his heart.
The girl really knew how to manipulate him, but then again, he quite liked this trait. And being called a father by her was quite heartwarming.
Having learned about what happened to the Nemeron Family of Elysia, just like Zilya, he too had been expecting something different in Reha.
However, the girl was happy, staying strong, and she genuinely seemed to care about this boy. There were really no signs of any manipulation, and his keen senses, which had never betrayed him, told him that this boy was kind.
He seemed a little annoyed by her pestering, but he did not mind her company and seemed to like her as well.
"So, where are you from? I have never heard of a Mir Family." He said as he walked over to take his seat at the table, where Reha, Hilda, Zilya, Zyron, and young Zyrios were already seated.
"We are not from here." Harud smiled as he answered and walked over to take his seat, showing no signs of restlessness at sitting with people who could be considered the powerhouses in this world.
Zarion was a Martial Emperor, one of the strongest people in the Crystal City, and both Zyron and Zilya were peak stage Martial King and Queen respectively. Hilda was not as talented as the other three, but she too was a Martial Princess, strong enough to be feared in this world.
"Then where?"
"My apologies, I cannot answer this question." He said to the man and then proceeded to plate some food for himself.
"Your Master is from Orenesia."
"He is not." Harud shook his head.
"But he is associated with Arcadia Archonos."
"Lots of people from all over the world are associated with Arcadia Archonos." He smiled.
"Only the ridiculously talented or the most Noble." Hilda corrected him. "Even though Arcadia Archonos ranks fourth on the list of the Five Supreme Academies of Heaven, only above Ayrongard, it is not a place where just anybody can enter. Your Master has a noble heritage, right?"
It was clearly a lunch where they wanted to pry every useful information, and even though Zilya and Zyron knew that they would not get anything out of this conversation, they kept quiet and let Zarion and Hilda ask their questions.
"No one is qualified to be called a Noble if my Master isn’t considered one." He lightly said, freezing the atmosphere at the table, but paid no heed to the frowns that Zarion, Zilya, and Zyron wore on their faces.
"How did you meet him?" She continued with her questions.
"My Family serves my Master’s Family. We are a Vassal House." He said.
"It’s the same for the other two?"
"Who?" He curiously raised his brow at her.
"Caesar and Victorian?"
"Yes." He nodded his head. "The three of us are distant cousins by blood, but both of them belong to their own Houses."
"And what are the Nemeron now?" She meaningfully asked, looking at both Reha and Harud.
"They promised to serve my Master in return for saving them from extinction." He truthfully said.
"Sylos Nemeron made the promise?" Zarion frowned.
"Yes, it is the Patriarch."
There was silence at the table for the rest of their meal, and towards the end, Hilda raised some questions again.
"What are your plans for Reha?" She gently asked him.
"Master wants me to either take her as my Shadow or take her as my Concubine." He lightly said. "And she wants to be both."
"It doesn’t work like that." Hilda immediately shook her head. "As a Shadow, you wouldn’t be able to take care of your children."
Her worries were from an entirely different perspective, but the other three adults at the table were frowning at Harud’s words.
"She won’t be your Main Wife?" Zilya asked.
"It is not possible." He shook his head. "I have a duty to honour my blood and sire pureblood children. One day, I will have to take someone equal to me, who shares the same blood, as my Main Wife."
"Your blood is noble?" She raised her brow at him, intrigued at the revelation.
"Yes." He admitted.
"Prove it." Hilda suddenly said, taking out a Crystal Orb from her Storage Ring and throwing it to him. "Pour your Aura into it. The Talent Orb will show us how talented you are."
Harud smiled at her words but did not mind them.
He simply did as she told him and poured his Aura into the Orb, which soon started shining brightly in a red colour.
Then, when it became the brightest red, it changed the shade and emanated an orange light. Seconds later, the light was Yellow, then Green, then Blue, and when it finally turned indigo, Hilda held her breath in surprise and shock.
To their dismay, it only stayed indigo for a while before it turned Violet, which was the highest that this Talent Orb could detect.
"I hope you are satisfied, My Lady." Harud politely said as he put down the Orb, which kept shining in the Violet Light for a while before it eventually subsided.
He had just returned to eating when he inadvertently glanced at Reha, and he found her infatuatedly looking at him with stars in her eyes.
"You are awesome! We will have many powerful children!"
Her words made him choke on his meal, and he embarrassedly reached for the glass of water, not looking at her again, but he heard her giggle to her fantasies, and his face burned in a blush.
Hilda smirked when she saw his reaction, but did not raise any questions again.
Her husband, however, had his eyes narrowed at Harud, and he was seemingly lost in his thoughts.
"Boy, why do you want to join the Adventure Guild? With your talent, you can easily enter Aventine."
"I am still young, so I have a lot of time to consider going there. For now, I just want to have fun and see the world." He truthfully said, and since he did not deny the possibility of going to Aventine, Zarion was satisfied with him.
"When you go there, take Reha with you." He lightly said, and Harud curiously looked at him.
"Someone sinister has taken interest in her. You will be targeted soon." The man told him, making him more curious.
"Who?"
"Fabian Crystol, the evil spawn of the City Lord, who happens to be the Heir of the City."
"You fear he would harm Reha?" He raised his brow.
"I wouldn’t allow it, but he will certainly make things difficult for our Family if he does end up becoming a Crown Prince in the future." He truthfully said. "I just have a bad premonition about him. He reeks of the aura of a kinslayer. A candidate to become the perfect puppet for the Vulcanian Crown."
His words unsettled everyone at the table, and Zyron could not help but remember the chat he had with Argus a couple of days ago.
The mysterious man had questioned him why he was so confident that his family would not be betrayed by the City Lord, and now that he thought over it again, considering the premonition of his uncle, his heart became very restless.
"Lord Zyron." He heard the boy suddenly call out to him, and he raised his head to meet his eyes.
"My Master sincerely advises you that you should stay in the city and not go to the Frozen Wasteland."
Zyron kept looking into his eyes before eventually nodding his head.
"I am not going. My wife has threatened to take my life with her own hands if I insist on going there." He playfully said and received a smack on his arm by Zilya, who embarrassedly glared at him.
Hilda shared a giggle with the young Zyrios, but Zarion was very serious as he looked at his nephew.
"Who’s going to represent our family on the expedition?"
"Uncle Byron wishes to go there. And I will send Baigor with him."
"I will talk to Byron. He will stay with his wife and kids. And no need to send Baigor either. I will go there myself."
"Zarion..." Hilda subconsciously tried to stop him, but then lowered her head in shame.
No matter what, she could not bring herself to ask him to let his younger brother bear the dangers of life and stay home with her. If anything bad was indeed going to happen there, then Zarion, who was much stronger than both Zyron and Byron, was the best candidate to go there. At least, with his experience and power, he had a much higher chance of survival.
"I will come back." He promised before looking at Harud. "Your Master is going there?"
"Yes."
"Are you not worried about his safety?" He grinned.
"No." Harud shook his head with a smile. "He will be fine."
"Interesting." He grinned some more. "Accompany me to lunch tomorrow at the House of Ameer. I will introduce you to an old friend."
"I will be there." The young Mir nodded his head, accepting the invitation. "We are searching for some suitable properties to buy in the city. Can you suggest some?" He asked the Nemerus, and Zilya and Zyron happily informed him about the most suitable pieces of real estate that were up for sale.
"If you choose to buy properties in the Nemerus and Ameer Districts, we will be able to help you a lot with the process and the protection."
"I will let you know our decision tomorrow." He gratefully nodded to them and then chatted with them for a good hour before he took his leave.
Reha wanted to accompany him back to the Black Nest, but Hilda advised her against it.
It was not appropriate for her to leave the house the same day they had returned to the city, but she did ask their loyal guards to accompany Harud on his way back home.
