Chapter 2815: Actions Of The Immortal Court And The Stunned Prefecture Lord

The group fell silent for a moment, the weight of the Prefecture Lord's words pressing on them like a heavy fog.

HUUU

Everyone took a breath as they heard this. It felt strange to hear that the conflict had already ended when to them it felt like just yesterday.

"So it's all over?" Lin Mu asked, feeling a bit uneasy.

"The last update came just four days ago. The operation is over, and the Osteri World has been taken over by the Immortal Court. As of now, they are in the process of establishing a foothold there, and a Temple of the Guardian Beasts will probably be erected within the year.

And in the coming two years, four new Guardians will also be appointed there," the Prefecture Lord answered. "Of course, the Immortal Court has also left a battalion of their troops there for peacekeeping, and two Transcendent Immortal experts of the Immortal Court will be staying behind as emissaries," he added.

"That's good," Monk Hushu said with relief. "The commoners of that world deserve peace," he added.

"Yeah, they shouldn't suffer under the rule of such a regime," Lin Mu agreed.

"The clergy deserved what happened to them," Daoist Chu said with a scowl.

"I suppose that's good news," Meng Bai muttered.

"It is," Lin Mu said. "But it's not over. At least, I don't think so."

"Agreed," Monk Hushu added. "The rot of faith-based corruption runs deep. The Osteri World might have fallen, but there could be others hidden—cultivated over centuries."

"The Order was vast," Daoist Chu said gravely. "It might have been centralized in Osteri, but there must be other such orders whose reach could extend much farther."

Lin Mu's eyes narrowed slightly. "That's why the Immortal Court and the Temple will have to handle it. After all, there is a Celestial behind all this."

Prefecture Lord Shiren, who heard this, was horrified.

"A Celestial!?" The man's eyes went wide. "There's a Celestial behind this?!"

"You didn't know?" Daoist Chu asked with concern.

"There was no such mention of it," the Prefecture Lord said, almost trembling.

The involvement of a Celestial blew up this matter to an extreme level.

"Looks like they didn't reveal this matter openly," Lin Mu said, understanding why.

It was big enough to destabilize the peace of the entire Immortal Realm, as it could send the people into an anxious state. No one would know where such people were staying, and conflicts could arise due to suspicion. Those with nefarious thoughts wouldn't think twice before taking advantage of it, decimating entire worlds for their gains.

And they would simply state that this was due to it being another world like the Osteri World.

The Immortal Court couldn't let something like this happen.

Not to mention, such mass-level action would certainly reach the ears of the Celestial.

One world being brought under control by the Immortal Court—even if found by the Celestial—wouldn't bother him. He would, at most, think it was bad luck that it was found out. But if multiple worlds of his were targeted, he would certainly act.

Now that… could certainly bring terror to the entire Immortal Realm.

Of course, the Celestial Courts would act to restrain the Celestial, but dealing with Celestials isn't as straightforward as it is with Immortals—especially a True Celestial that cannot even be killed in one go.

By the time they would be able to do something, great damage would have already been caused. As such, it was much better for them to restrain such news from spreading.

"Amitabha, it might be better for you to not speak of this to others as well then," Monk Hushu advised.

"Of course," Prefecture Lord Shiren said right away. "This information will not reach a second person."

But just as he said this, he saw Lin Mu looking at the others standing behind the man.

"Don't worry about them. I'll have their memories from today erased," Prefecture Lord Shiren replied.

The people also didn't seem to be averse to it. In fact, they were quite afraid, realizing what they had learned could very well get them killed. They couldn't wait to forget this day.

With that done, Lin Mu and the group chatted with the Prefecture Lord for a while longer before the man called in some food for them. While they had eaten the meals made by Little Shrubby in the teleportation channel, the Prefecture Lord didn't know that.

To him, it just seemed like the group had not eaten any normal food in a while and had just sustained themselves on pills, as most cultivators did.

After all, no normal cultivator would think—or even have the luxury—of packing several months of fresh food to keep.

And neither would they have a mobile courtyard like Lin Mu's to cook casually in while they were teleporting. That was all a luxury that most couldn't afford.

Now that food was brought in, Lin Mu was not going to say no to that. He even brought out Little Shrubby, the twins, and Ashy to try the new dishes.

The Prefecture Lord was surprised by the beasts, but didn't think much of them since they were rather small. He just thought of them as some companion pets that many cultivators kept.

The meal lasted about two hours, during which Lin Mu got a bit more familiar with the world.

The Silent Lotus World was about the same size as the Rust Sky World and was a world with several powers. There were many Buddhist temples and sects here, along with normal cultivation sects. Other than these, there were also secular powers such as kingdoms and empires spread all around the world.

Though the Silent Lotus World was quite peaceful and there were almost no conflicts, other than the common ones such as beast attacks and general fights between cultivators.

Compared to the Osteri Divine World, this was simply paradise.

The area that they were in was called the Lotus Prefecture and was subsidiary to the Green Lotus Temple, which was one of the three major powers in the entire world!
