Chapter 3052: Contacting Lady Kang At The Smoldering Rock Merchant Union

Lin Mu stepped forward, taking the lead. "We’re here to send a message."

"To whom?" she asked, not looking up from her ledger.

"To Lady Kang, Owner of the Great Kang Auction House."

That made her blink—but she still didn’t lift her gaze. "I’m afraid that level of communication must go through the Eastern Immortal Court’s diplomatic trade channels. If you have a formal request, we can—"

Lin Mu cut her off by placing something small and golden on the desk.

The woman paused, brows furrowing. Slowly, she looked down—and her eyes widened.

A golden crescent token, stamped with the sigil of a soaring crane with the constellation of virgo formed from small gems on it. The personal VIP token of the Great Kang Clan. This wasn’t some ceremonial badge—it was authority incarnate, a mark of those who had earned the direct favor of Lady Kang herself, something given perhaps once a decade.

She squinted. "I... I’m not familiar with this..."

’Still taking us lightly.’ Lin Mu thought.

Lin Mu’s expression didn’t change, but a faint ripple of Sword Intent flared from him like a windless breeze of blades. It wasn’t aggressive—but the air around him shifted subtly. The woman swallowed as she instinctively stepped back.

Her Immortal sense was screaming at her to show respect.

Now.

Still confused, she hurried to the back. "One moment. I’ll fetch my supervisor."

A few moments later, a man strode in—tall, well-built, draped in fine grey robes with a mantle of scaled flame drake leather. Merchant Overseer Zhai, one of the senior managers of the Smoldering Rock Merchant Union.

He looked prepared for an arrogant cultivator attempting to bluff his way into the network.

"I was told there was a dispute over authorization?" he asked coolly as he approached the group, eyeing Lin Mu with practiced disinterest. "Let me see this so-called VIP—"

His voice caught.

His eyes dropped to the golden gem studded token still on the counter.

Then his pupils dilated.

His knees buckled—literally buckled—as his hands shot forward to lift the token as though it were the crown jewel of the Immortal Emperor. A long, sharp breath left his lungs as his mind processed what he was seeing.

"No... this... this is..." His voice trembled. "This is authentic!"

The other attendants in the room, who had been trying to stay composed, now stiffened. Some dropped their pens. One woman nearly spilled a tray of documents. There was nothing louder than the stunned silence of realization as every cultivator in the building felt the ripple of status shift.

Elyon blinked, jaw tightening as he whispered under his breath, "What the hell kind of person is this guy..."

Zhai bowed so low his forehead nearly hit the obsidian floor.

"My deepest apologies, Honored Guest of the Great Kang Auction House," he said, voice tight with fear and awe. "Please, you are welcome to use any of our long-distance communication arrays. We will route your message personally through our Eastern Nexus—no delay, no charge, no signature required."

Lin Mu gave a polite nod. "That will do."

The overseer gestured quickly, sending several attendants scattering. Within minutes, Lin Mu was led into a private crystal-engraved chamber where an elder cultivator maintained the Merchant Union’s array hub. It was lined with transmission stones, anchor mirrors, and relay crystals all bound in an expansive array dome designed for interworld messaging.

The elder bowed wordlessly and activated the relay.

Daoist Chu couldn’t help but chuckle. "You always have a way of shocking people."

Meng Bai smirked. "Every time."

As Lin Mu wrote the jade slip, Elyon stood off to the side, arms crossed, tail swaying slowly. He was no longer surprised—but he was thinking hard.

A person who could casually hand over tens of thousands of high-grade immortal stones, bathe in molten Earth Flame ash, tear open spatial rifts by hand, and now call upon the head of the most powerful auction house in the Eastern Immortal Court or perhaps the entire Immortal Realm...

He wasn’t just strong.

He was connected. Important. Dangerous.

But not cruel.

Elyon scratched his chin thoughtfully.

"I think I really made a good call not fighting this guy."

Lin Mu looked up from the slip and met his gaze. There was no smugness, no pride. Just quiet efficiency.

And something far more dangerous: purpose.

After completing the transmission, the overseer practically escorted them out with reverence, leaving every attendant bowing behind them.

Lin Mu’s message to Lady Kang had been simple:

"Lady Kang, I hope this message finds you well. I require one Illusory River Unicorn Horn. Payment will not be an issue. Kindly send it to the Smoldering Rock Merchant Union’s relay hub in Ash Crown City, Verdant Ash Basin Region. This is a matter of urgency and great consequence."

The message had barely left for an hour before the elder cultivator managing the relay chamber felt the instant ripple of acknowledgment.

A reply was already being written.

Lady Kang had received the message.

Just under an hour later, the Smoldering Rock Merchant Union’s relay elder returned with a glowing jade slip held delicately in his hands, as if carrying a divine decree.

His expression was tense, his steps careful. Behind him, several higher-ups had gathered, whispering among themselves. Even the receptionist from earlier was lingering in the background, nervously adjusting her robes.

The elder came to a halt in front of Lin Mu, bowed low, and presented the slip.

"It’s from the Great Kang Auction House, Honored Guest. A direct reply from Lady Kang herself."

Lin Mu took it calmly and infused a thread of qi. A clear, refined voice—warm and sharp, the kind of voice that could command auctions, nobles, and sect leaders—spoke directly into his mind.

"Lin Mu, really now—you’re asking to pay? Don’t be so formal. I already owe you more than I can count. If anything, I should be giving you tributes monthly on top of the payments and royalties!"

"I’ve already arranged for the Illusory River Unicorn Horn to be sent via the nearest transport hub. Even using the fastest object relay arrays, it’ll take no less than thirty days to reach your location."
