Chapter 3764: Abyssal Horizon Veil Seal
Chapter 3764: Abyssal Horizon Veil Seal
The Absolute Body Control Art operated continuously.
Blood Tinting altered the color and texture of his skin, Skin Sculpting adjusted the surface details, Flesh Molding reshaped his musculature and Bone Shifting transformed his frame. Five hours later, Lin Mu finally opened his eyes.
The twins immediately stared and for a moment neither spoke.
The person sitting before them no longer looked like Lin Mu.
Little Bull sat in his place.
The resemblance was nearly perfect. The same rugged face, the same broad shoulders, the same powerful build and even the rough texture of the skin had been recreated. Lin Mu took out a mirror and examined himself carefully.
Then he made several further adjustments.
Using Blood Tinting and Skin Sculpting, he recreated the injuries he had observed on the corpse.
Fresh bruises appeared across his body and scars formed along his arms before a particularly nasty wound appeared along his forehead. The result looked convincing enough that even Lin Mu was impressed.
"Master actually looks stupid now." Xiao Yang commented.
Lin Mu’s eye twitched.
Xiao Yin immediately smacked her brother’s head with her tail.
"I meant simple!" Xiao Yang quickly corrected himself.
Lin Mu shook his head.
At least the disguise was working.
Still, appearance alone was insufficient for a far greater problem remained, Cultivation.
Little Bull possessed absolutely no Qi cultivation and he was completely mortal. Lin Mu, on the other hand, was an immortal whose cultivation would terrify entire worlds. His mere presence naturally emitted fluctuations.
Even when suppressed, traces still existed.
Ordinary methods would never fool a Fifth Tribulation Immortal. And even if Elder He Jian somehow overlooked it, the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect certainly would not.
Their examinations would be far more thorough and any concealment technique would eventually be discovered.
That was when Xukong finally spoke.
"I have a method."
Lin Mu’s eyes brightened.
"What kind?"
"A spatial seal."
The spider’s voice carried confidence.
"A very old one."
Lin Mu listened carefully.
"The seal is called the Abyssal Horizon Veil Seal."
The name alone sounded profound.
"It is not truly a concealment technique," Xukong continued. "That is why it is effective."
Lin Mu grew interested.
Most concealment methods simply hid energy and this allowed experts to detect abnormalities.
Anything hidden could eventually be found.
Xukong explained further.
"The Abyssal Horizon Veil Seal creates a microscopic spatial pocket attached to your body."
Lin Mu immediately understood the basic concept.
His mastery over Space Dao allowed him to grasp it quickly.
"The fluctuations are transferred there?" he guessed.
"Exactly."
Xukong sounded pleased.
"Every trace of Qi, immortal essence, aura, vitality fluctuation, soul pressure, and cultivation signature is redirected into that spatial pocket."
Lin Mu’s eyes widened slightly.
That was far different from concealment as the energy would not be hidden, it would simply be somewhere else.
"The seal leaves behind only what you allow others to perceive," Xukong explained. "In your current case, that will be nothing."
Lin Mu immediately saw the advantages.
Even experts examining him directly would find no traces because there would be no traces present.
The fluctuations would literally exist in another space.
"There are drawbacks." Xukong warned. Lin Mu expected as much.
"The seal is stable while inactive."
The spider’s ten golden eyes narrowed slightly.
"But once you begin releasing your cultivation, pressure accumulates."
"Pressure?" Lin Mu asked.
"The pocket dimension fills." Realization dawned upon him.
The more power he used, the more strain the seal would experience. "Once a certain threshold is reached, the seal can no longer restore itself."
Xukong nodded. "At that point the seal collapses and all suppressed cultivation returns permanently."
Lin Mu understood.
This was essentially a disguise with a limited lifespan.
One he would have to use carefully.
"How long?" he asked.
Xukong thought briefly.
"If you remain mostly inactive, years."
"If you engage in serious combat, perhaps hours. I can restore it if the strain isn’t too much but if you unleash your full strength..." the spider chuckled. "The seal would probably shatter instantly."
Lin Mu nodded. That much was acceptable.
But Xukong still had one more thing to say.
"Additionally, while this can hide your cultivation, it cannot hide your soul itself. If someone observes your True Soul directly, they will find out that it does not belong to Little Bull. Plus the strength of your True Soul would be far greater than a normal immortal, too.
"I understand." Lin Mu took note of it.
After all, his goal was infiltration and not warfare. It was unlikely the sect would do a full True Soul scan just for a secret. It was neither simple nor cheap to do. Most methods needed special resources or experts to do it.
The only ones who could do it with ease were Soul Cultivators, and they were as rare as a phoenix feathers and a Qilin horns. Lin Mu didn’t think there would be someone like that in the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect.
Plus, even if he was forced to use all his power and the disguise collapsed, it likely meant his mission had already reached a critical stage.
"What about my spatial techniques?" Lin Mu asked.
"The ring remains unaffected."
Xukong answered immediately.
"The seal only affects your visible cultivation. Anything linked directly to the ring can still be used."
That was reassuring.
Without his spatial abilities and being unable to use the ring’s storage, infiltration would become significantly more difficult.
"Then let’s begin." Lin Mu said as he entered the ring’s space.
Xukong rose from his cultivation spot as spatial threads immediately emerged from his body. Thousands upon thousands of shimmering silver strands spread through the air like an enormous web.
Ancient runes appeared within them and each rune carried profound spatial fluctuations that even Lin Mu struggled to comprehend fully.
The ring’s space darkened as the surrounding space distorted. And for the next several hours, Xukong began constructing the Abyssal Horizon Veil Seal upon Lin Mu’s body.
By the time dawn arrived over Honey God Village, the future Little Bull was almost ready to be born.
