Chapter 3854: A Hungry Little Girl

Chapter 3854: A Hungry Little Girl

Lin Mu narrowed his eyes slightly, as he had not heard her arrive. That immediately made him cautious. While Lin Mu was currently avoiding the use of his Immortal Sense because of the Abyssal Horizon Veil Seal, his physical senses were still incredibly sharp.

His hearing alone surpassed that of many immortal beasts, and he could easily detect small movements across considerable distances. The girl had somehow appeared without making a sound.

Lin Mu quickly considered the possibilities. ’A movement technique?’

It was possible.

’A concealment skill?’ That seemed more likely.

He continued observing her and then Lin Mu realized something. The girl was not looking at him. Her eyes were fixed on the fire. More specifically, they were fixed on the Root Turner Boar meat.

Lin Mu glanced at the meat, then he looked at the girl. ’No. Definitely not me.’

The girl’s gaze was locked onto the meat with terrifying intensity. Lin Mu finally took the opportunity to study her appearance.

She looked around ten years old.

Of course, Lin Mu had long since learned that physical appearances meant very little among immortals. Some cultivators maintained youthful appearances for thousands of years, while others deliberately altered their bodies through cultivation techniques.

The girl’s most noticeable feature was her hair.

It was bright pink!

Lin Mu had seen cultivators with unusual hair colors before. Some cultivation techniques could alter the color of one’s hair, and certain bloodlines naturally produced unusual appearances.

Still, this particular shade was strange. Lin Mu could not recall ever seeing anyone with such bright pink hair. Her hair reached slightly below her shoulders and looked unusually soft. Several strands moved gently whenever the wind passed through the forest.

The girl’s eyes were dark brown and they shimmered strangely in the light of the fire, almost resembling the surface of calm water. She had a small button-like nose which twitched a couple times.

Lin Mu looked toward the meat as the girl inhaled deeply and her eyes widened. Lin Mu looked back at her and saw that there was a thin line of drool hanging from the corner of her mouth.

’She’s hungry.’ That was obvious.

Lin Mu decided to maintain Little Bull’s personality.

"Hello?" He waved.

But the girl did not respond. Her eyes remained fixed on the meat.

Little Bull tilted his head. "Hello?"

Still no reaction. Lin Mu looked at the stone slab as an idea appeared in his mind. He grabbed one of the cooked pieces of meat and the girl’s eyes moved. Lin Mu slowly moved the meat toward the left. The girl’s head followed.

He moved it toward the right. Her head moved right. Lin Mu moved the meat left again. The girl leaned left. He moved it right. She leaned right. Lin Mu raised the meat. The girl’s head tilted upward. He lowered it and her gaze followed.

Lin Mu almost laughed. ’She’s completely focused on the food.’

He finally stopped teasing her. "Do you want some?"

"YES!" The answer came instantly.

The girl’s voice was surprisingly loud. And before Lin Mu could say anything else, the girl jumped from the branch. She fell twenty meters as Lin Mu watched carefully. The girl’s pink robes fluttered around her and her feet touched the ground.

There was no impact as no dust rose, nor did the earth crack.

She simply landed.

Lin Mu’s eyes narrowed for a fraction of a second. ’Excellent control.’

The girl walked toward him. Lin Mu finally noticed that her robes were almost the same color as her hair. The fabric was bright pink, though there were several darker patterns embroidered along the sleeves.

The girl stopped beside the fire.

Lin Mu opened his mouth. "Here, you can have..."

In the next moment though, the stone plate disappeared. Lin Mu blinked and saw that the girl was already holding it. She sat down and then began eating while Lin Mu stared. The girl tore a massive piece of Root Turner Boar meat from the slab.

She bit into it and her cheeks puffed. She chewed rapidly, then she swallowed and soon another piece disappeared.

Lin Mu remained silent as the girl’s eating style reminded him of someone. Actually, it reminded him of several people: The Wild Peak disciples.

’She eats exactly like them.’

The girl grabbed the meat with both hands, and her face quickly became covered in grease. But she did not seem to care. Within moments, nearly half the slab was gone, leaving Lin Mu scratching his head.

He had expected her to eat. He had not expected her to devour the entire serving.

The girl continued eating and Lin Mu used the opportunity to examine her more closely. There was definitely something strange about her. Her appearance was youthful and her behavior seemed childish.

Yet Lin Mu could clearly sense vitality within her body.

’A cultivator.’ That much was certain.

Lin Mu focused on the vitality and his brows furrowed slightly.

’Strange.’ He could not estimate her cultivation properly.

Normally, Lin Mu could make a rough judgment of a body cultivator’s strength by sensing their vitality. It was not perfectly accurate, especially when dealing with experienced cultivators who knew how to contain their energy, though it still provided him with a general estimate.

The girl’s vitality was incredibly contained. While Lin Mu could sense its presence, and sense its richness, the energy seemed to be compressed deeply within her body.

’Immortal realm.’ Lin Mu was certain of that.

’What stage?’ He could not tell.

First Tribulation Stage?

Third?

Fifth?

Lin Mu had no idea.

’Her energy is strange. Is it because of her cultivation technique?’ He continued watching.

The girl finished the meat and licked her fingers. Then she looked at the fire as several more pieces were cooking.

Her eyes brightened.

Lin Mu immediately understood. "You want more?"

The girl nodded rapidly.

Little Bull smiled. "Okay."

Lin Mu placed another cooked slab onto a stone plate and the girl grabbed it. She resumed eating while Lin Mu sat beside the fire and continued cooking. He glanced at her robes again.

’They are definitely not Wild Peak robes.’ he thought.
