Chapter 3987: Alarm Across The Great Sect

Chapter 3987: Alarm Across The Great Sect

The brilliant light of Devastator could be seen from an enormous distance.

Cultivators who had been meditating opened their eyes. Disciples practicing techniques stopped midway through their movements. A group of sword cultivators training outside a mountain looked upward in confusion.

"What was that?"

"An attack?"

"Where did it come from?"

Several elders immediately released their immortal senses and the answer came quickly.

"That direction."

"Was that the Mad Demon Depths?"

An elder’s expression changed. "The Mad Demon Depths?"

The words alone were enough to create unease when another wave of energy spread outward. This one traveled hundreds of kilometers and across the surrounding territories, cultivators felt it.

Some thought an ancient treasure had emerged while others believed an expert had launched an attack. Several sect members immediately began communicating with their divisions.

Then the sect’s formations reacted as one formation after another awakened. Warning lights appeared across several mountain peaks and a deep alarm bell sounded within the Inner Court.

Dong!

Dong!

Dong!

The sound reverberated through the sect while disciples looked toward the sky in confusion.

"Elder, what happened?"

"I don’t know."

"Why are the defensive formations activating?"

"Something has breached the Mad Demon Depths."

That statement caused several disciples to pale as the Mad Demon Depths was a forbidden prison region. Its existence was already ancient and the idea that someone had breached it was extraordinary.

Within the Core Court, the reaction was even faster as several elders emerged from secluded chambers and formation masters rushed toward their control halls. Soon messages began arriving from multiple divisions.

"The Mad Demon Depths have been breached!"

"Which level?"

"Unknown!"

"Was there an external attack?"

"Unknown!"

"Are the prison arrays damaged?"

"Several formations are reporting abnormal fluctuations!"

The Law Division immediately began mobilizing while the Records Division began pulling historical information. Even the Beast Taming Division ordered its members to remain alert and prepared several mounts for scouting.

Even the Core Court’s higher formations began monitoring the region. Nobody understood what had happened. Then the final shockwave arrived and the entire region around the Mad Demon Depths trembled.

For a brief moment, the alarms became even louder. And far above the breached prison, standing within the brilliant remnants of his own attack, Lin Mu slowly emerged from the newly created passage.

Dust drifted around him while fragments of shattered stone fell into the depths below. His robes remained immaculate and his enormous body stood proudly beneath the open sky as Lin Mu looked toward the distant horizon.

The smile on his face carried the exact arrogance he had spent days reconstructing.

Junior Elder Zhenyu had returned and the entire Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect had just been given the announcement.

The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect reacted to the disturbance quickly and within a minute, several emergency teleportation arrays were activated and several elders were ordered to head to the Mad Demon Depths.

In addition to these, multiple groups of disciples were dispatched from the nearby divisions, while entire swarms of beasts were sent forth as mounts as they all began to converge towards the detached cliff that the Mad Demon Depths existed on.

Lin Mu meanwhile, had already reached the surface and could clearly sense the arrays all across the sect flaring. More than that, he can also sense spatial fluctuations all around the area.

’At least their response is very prompt.’ Lin Mu thought to himself.

He glanced down and saw the abyssal hole he had created. He had actually come out quite some distance away from the main entrance of the Mad Demon Depth’s, as such the detached cliff was still unaffected.

Instead Lin Mu stood far above the plains that were near that bridge that was attached to the hill on which the entrance was located.

SHUA SHUA SHUA

Lin Mu’s spatial sense was active and he sensed several black dots appear, which soon started to expand. They turned into two meter tall portals, from which several elders appeared.

All of them were wearing robes belonging to various divisions and Lin Mu saw that the majority of them were from the Core Court. There were Law and Discipline Division Elders, Sword Division Elders, Spear Division Elders, and many more.

Though Lin Mu did not see anyone from the Wild Peak there, thinking that they probably did not accept it or were simply not told. The Man Peak’s body cultivation elders were present there though.

’The sect might also not send them for internal sect incidents.’ Lin Mu reckoned but this response was still decent.

All in all, there were nearly twenty elders present, and all of them were High Elders, with the weakest of them being at the Fifth Tribulation Stage of the Immortal realm and the strongest at the Seventh Tribulation stage of the immortal realm.

Such a lineup was very impressive, especially if one considered this was just the first team dispatched for the emergency and there were most certainly many more heading over. Such a group of strong immortals was enough to be the backbone of a small sized sect alone, and the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect had many more of them.

Any other cultivator would think a hundred times before acting or would simply surrender under such force. But Lin Mu was not worried at all. In fact, he was feeling a bit excited. Having been living as a ’weak’ junior all this time had made him yearn for a proper battle, and now he was finally having the chance.

The elders looked at the Mad Demon Depths and found that the main entrance was fine.

"Where was the breach?" Someone asked.

"There!" someone pointed out at the large fifty meters wide hole with a nearly half a kilometer wide crater around it.

It was some distance away from the entrance, as such, they had not seen it first.

"Who’s that?" They finally saw Lin Mu standing there, or rather, Junior Elder Zhenyu.

"A Junior elder?" Someone saw his robes and pointed out.

At first the people were confused and doubted it, but the robes were as clear as day.
