Chapter 4005: Return Of The Earth Sea Tyrant!
Chapter 4005: Return Of The Earth Sea Tyrant!
Lin Mu’s fist had created the opening deliberately. The location had been precise and the size was controlled. Even the stability of the rift was controlled, which was very difficult. Most importantly, Lin Mu had not caused the surrounding space to collapse.
’He opened a passage!’ Daoist Bone Ruler’s expression slowly changed.
Lin Mu looked at the rift.
SHUA
Then, as though stepping through an ordinary doorway, he walked toward it. The surrounding disciples instinctively moved aside. He reached the edge of the spatial rift and stopped.
Then he looked back.
"Do your best, junior." A faint smirk appeared on his face. "Perhaps I will be merciful and judge the state of the sect with an Open Palm instead of a Closed Fist."
Daoist Bone Ruler’s heart skipped when Lin Mu stepped forward. His body disappeared into the darkness of the Void. The spatial rift remained for another few breaths, then the cracks slowly began closing.
The darkness vanished as the shattered space restored itself and within moments, the sky looked exactly as it had before.
There was absolute silence as nobody spoke, or rather they couldn’t muster the will to do so. The disciples stared at the place where Lin Mu had disappeared. One elder finally swallowed.
"How did he..." He could not finish.
Another elder stared at the empty space. "He just entered the rift?"
Someone else whispered, "Where is he going?"
No answer came as everyone had questions, but nobody had answers.
Daoist Bone Ruler, however, was thinking about something else entirely. ’He was holding back.’
The realization struck him with such force that his breathing became uneven. He had already witnessed Zhenyu’s power as he had fought against him. He had personally endured the terrifying force of Dual Disaster.
He had watched his own defensive treasures shatter one after another. He had felt death approaching. And yet now this man had casually punched open space and stepped into the Void as though he were taking a leisurely stroll through the sect.
Daoist Bone Ruler looked down at his damaged Bone Ruler and his fingers tightened around it.
The old man suddenly remembered the battle, and the abilities that the old elder had shown. ’The speed. The strength. The strange elemental manipulation. The terrifying Dual Disaster.’
Then he remembered the fact that Lin Mu had waited patiently while he prepared every defensive measure available to him. Then came the realization that truly disturbed him. Zhenyu had never used his full strength.
He had been testing him and teaching him. Even that monstrous attack had been controlled enough for Lin Mu to stop it immediately before the final impact. Daoist Bone Ruler’s expression became complicated.
’He was holding back.’ He repeated the thought.
Then another realization followed. ’He was holding back this entire time.’
For the first time in many years, Daoist Bone Ruler felt both dread and relief simultaneously.
Dread because he had just provoked someone whose true limits he could no longer even begin to estimate. Relief because the same person had deliberately spared his life. His gaze returned to the place where the spatial rift had vanished.
’His method may be crude.’ The thought came naturally. ’But he controlled the space.’
That was what truly shocked him. A cultivator could shatter space through overwhelming strength and a cultivator could damage space through an enormous clash. A cultivator could also use treasures or formations to create temporary spatial passages.
But controlling a spatial rift created through brute force was something else.
Zhenyu had punched through space and created an opening precisely where he wanted. He had entered it without hesitation and had shown no concern about spatial turbulence. There had been no instability, backlash, sudden collapse or even a sign of strain.
Daoist Bone Ruler slowly exhaled. ’He’s a monster.’
This old junior elder was far more terrifying than anyone could comprehend. His strength was extraordinary and so was his body. His elemental techniques were extraordinary and his knowledge of the sect could probably embarrass even the ancestors..
And now Daoist Bone Ruler had witnessed something else. A crude method of spatial manipulation that displayed a degree of control that even he found difficult to understand. The scope of Mengli Zhenyu’s abilities might extend far beyond what the sect currently knew.
Daoist Bone Ruler looked toward the other elders and nobody spoke as there was little left to say.
All they knew was that the Earth Sea Tyrant had returned, and he had already announced his intention to judge the state of the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect himself. The old man suddenly felt a headache coming.
He glanced at the damaged Bone Ruler in his hand, then he looked toward the direction of the distant Wild Peak. For the first time, Daoist Bone Ruler sincerely hoped that the matter involving Little Bull was far less complicated than it appeared.
Because if it was not, he had a feeling that the return of Mengli Zhenyu would become one of the greatest upheavals the sect had experienced in countless years.
"What... Do we do now, Head Bone Ruler?" The High Elders asked, feeling utterly confused on how to proceed in this situation.
"What else..." Daoist Bone Ruler said with a sigh. "Let it be known far and wide... The Earth Sea Tyrant... Has Returned!" He declared.
As everyone reveled and came to terms with the declaration, somewhere beyond the shattered spatial passage, Lin Mu stepped through the Void with a calm expression. His eyes carried a faint gleam as the first part of his plan had succeeded.
But then a second later, his face turned pale and he coughed.
"Damn, Daoist Bone Ruler is certainly strong." Lin Mu said as he felt the fatigue from the fight.
It was quite difficult for him to get tired like this, but the sheer amount of immortal Qi and immortal essence he had used in the fight was crazy.
"Still, seventy percent of my Immortal Qi and sixty percent of my immortal essence to defeat a Transcendent Immortal is worth it." Lin Mu said to himself.
