Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1175 - Taming the Old World - Eternal Hope - 3

Julius frowned, his brow furrowing in confusion.

"A tower?" the Qilin prince demanded. "Sorry Ren, but your wooden monoliths were almost completely useless against the Platinum mutants. They were already at their most efficient mana output, right? And they snapped them like twigs… What tower will hold?"

"This one will."

Ren reached into the huge void of his shadow space. He didn't pull out a stone frame or a wooden root system.

He pulled out the very tip of a mountain.

It was the exact same colossal spike of pseudo-mythic-metal he had forged and weaponized as a giant hammer to execute the Fire Dragon. It was a monolithic block of hyper-enhanced material boasting a physical resistance that slightly exceeded Diamond-density mana. It was practically adamantium level.

He had forged this monstrosity using every single trick in his vast arsenal. He had simultaneously used the crystals, rings, runes and channeled forty percent of his total triple-fusion output into the spell, then forcefully extracted the densest mineral crystals and bedrock available in the Fire zone of the Diamond ring.

He had compressed and alloyed the elements until they became something entirely new, a substance almost unbreakable that not even the concentrated heat of a true Fire Dragon had managed to melt it.

"This construct successfully restrained a guardian that raised its internal temperature high enough to liquefy Diamond rank mana enhanced stone," Ren explained rapidly, his eyes scanning the battlefield as he visualized the architectural blueprints in his head.

"This block I used as a hammer can serve as the primary chassis for a defensive tower. Even if I only have one of them, a monolith built from this specific alloy can permanently dam the flow of mutants right here. All I have to do is tap into the major mana vein running beneath Yino Castle to power its runes. The new Platinum mutant beasts might possess incredible brute strength and elemental control, but they are absolutely never going to punch through this. I will plant it directly in front of the horde. They won't advance another inch."

Despite their crushing exhaustion, Min and Taro nearly cheered out loud.

But Selphira raised a hand, cutting through the celebration.

"Wait."

Her mind was already ahead.

"If you only have the materials to construct a single indestructible tower, do not plant it here on the perimeter."

Ren blinked, turning to look at her.

"Plant it directly in front of the castle," Selphira offered, her voice ringing with absolute certainty. "If breaching the castle is their primary objective, if that is what they are relentlessly sacrificing millions of lives to reach… then we need to physically blockade the entrance itself. If you drop an impenetrable wall right here in the funneled wall, Selthia might simply command the swarm to stop pushing forward and instead order them to tear down the rest of our perimeter to flank us."

She pointed a finger toward the towering Yino Castle to their backs in the distance.

"If they realize they absolutely cannot enter the castle, they cannot execute whatever dark objective they came here for. Damming the flow out here, a few miles away from the target, is tactically useless if they eventually manage to slip through the rubble and breach the courtyard from the sides. But a monolithic tower made of that unbreakable material, wedged directly into the castle's throat..."

She left the sentence hanging. The implication was glaringly obvious.

"Furthermore," she added, "planting it at the gates means you can tap into the castle's central mana vein much faster and with significantly less interference."

Everyone standing on the ruined wall instantly agreed, despite it meaning Ren would need to move from here.

Ren processed the tactical shift for exactly half a second, which was the absolute maximum amount of time the chaotic battlefield allowed for debate. He decided to follow her idea without a single counter-argument.

There was no time for doubt.

"The castle gates, then…" Ren confirmed, his eyes hardening.

But…

Ren desperately wanted to move. The architectural blueprints for the monolithic tower were already burning in his mind, fully realized down to the last runic arrays.

But the immediate tactical reality anchored his boots to the wall. They were all running on fumes.

Ren needed to retreat to the castle and begin working immediately, yet doing so presented a fatal paradox. Stepping off the frontline meant actively removing the single heaviest anchor currently keeping the perimeter intact. If he turned his back now, the encroaching sea of rotting flesh would instantly wash over Julius and Selphira.

He hesitated. For exactly half a second, the Glorious General stood frozen in place, rapidly calculating the time left for the last tamers in this battlefield. He waited to see if the brilliant tacticians who had just ordered him to leave possessed a concrete plan to plug the catastrophic hole his absence would create.

Zhao, hovering just above the fray with his feathered cloak snapping in the wind, noticed the hesitation.

The Professor didn't do much. He simply raised a hand, pointing toward the dark sky directly behind their crumbling position.

"That problem solves itself with the people I called a while ago," Zhao called out, his voice cutting through the roar of the horde.

And some seconds later they felt it.

"They're here."

Cutting through the clouds of smoke, two distinct, high-density auras plummeted toward the earth. Victor and Lin had arrived, bringing a specialized vanguard of reinforcements with them.

♢♢♢♢

Victor's assigned perimeter had been cleared, and it had absolutely nothing to do with luck.

The bold commander had executed a ruthlessly pragmatic maneuver. He had deliberately collapsed his own sector backwards. Knowing that the sprawling, remote districts of Yino resting behind his designated wall were completely deserted, the exact same hollow, abandoned streets Li had ridden through the day before, so Victor made the cold calculation to sacrifice the empty real estate.

By voluntarily surrendering that dead space, Victor drastically shortened the overall defensive line. This allowed Julius's wall funnel to naturally channel the mindless beasts from that flank directly into this specific central meat grinder.

Ceding miles of territory during an apocalyptic siege usually signaled defeat. But when that territory held no civilian lives and no strategic assets for the moment, it wasn't a loss. It was peak military efficiency.
