Chapter 1209: Chapter 1209 - Taming the Old World - Elemental Dragons - 6
But the warmth instantly evaporated, replaced by cold, hard tactical realism.
"While your theoretical array is fascinating, I genuinely believe it will ultimately prove insufficient and break... If you successfully broadcast the canceling resonance and deactivate her stolen cores, the Hydra instantly loses its access to the infinite primordial power of the dragons... Yes, that is a massive victory. But the actual mutant vessels composing that monstrosity are still hyper-scaled, upper-tier Platinum mutants, artificially pushed to the Diamond threshold. They retain their massive mana density and huge bodies. They could simply rely on brute, kinetic force to shatter any enhanced stone or wood cage you attempt to trap them in too fast. Attacking them then and there is also a no go, since that would break the array like we did the floor earlier, and we don’t have a full Liora to feed another spiritual divine fire..."
"That’s exactly what my idea will fix... Do not worry about the structural integrity or an impossible attack," Ren stated firmly and confidently.
He plunged his mind deep into his shadow space, ripping out a colossal, jagged slab of hyper-dense pseudo-adamantium, the massive surplus chunks he had saved after forging the monolithic tower.
"You just focus entirely on maintaining the precise frequency vibration of the cores... I will handle the physical architecture of the array and the pinning them to the ground."
"Fine. But if you expect me to maintain a stable, indefinite resonance broadcast of that magnitude... I am absolutely going to need your five elemental crystals as well," Mooshito demanded, already rapidly spooling up its mana processors. "I need them to act as amplifiers for your cage, and to ensure the frequency vibration remains structurally stable... Since I cannot juggle five sovereign cores simultaneously without external energy anchors."
Ren immediately surrendered absolute administrative control of the five orbiting crystals directly to his small mushroom friend.
"If we actually pull this off," Ren offered, a rare, genuine spark of warmth in his mind, "I will let you eat the rings... The two I have right now."
But Mooshito, displaying a terrifying lack of its usual insatiable greed, sounded vastly more mature than usual.
"Keep them in your hand. I calculate a highly probable scenario where you will desperately require the omni-elemental-amplification they provide even after this siege concludes to fight the black and white ones." A brief pause. "And regardless, I am no doubt going to plunge into a comatose sleep for a decently long time after this until you bring us to Platinum. But when you finally breach the Platinum rank, then I will accept my reward. A genuine, sovereign feast. You are going to secure all seven for me! Right?"
A profound, swelling warmth spread through Ren’s chest, momentarily banishing the freezing agony of the crystals crawling up his neck.
"It’s a deal!"
And the two of them, the tired human young adult and the ancient, brilliant beast, exchanged a playful, mental fist bump.
It was the exact second before the adamantium tower finally shattered.
♢♢♢♢
With a catastrophic, deafening screech of tearing metal that shook the city, the pseudo-adamantium finally yielded. The colossal five-headed Hydra pulverized the impenetrable defense that had successfully blocked the castle gates for hours.
Ren moved in the exact same millisecond.
He first hurled one of the massive, jagged spikes of surplus adamantium directly at the beast. The hyper-compressed metal struck the Hydra mid-charge, violently impaling the colossal chassis and physically pinning it to the courtyard floor right before it could cross the royal threshold.
And then, with both hands outstretched and his jade eyes burning like twin suns, Ren seized absolute, god-like control of the metal composing his own destroyed tower.
He then commanded the shattered fragments, the twisted adamantium plates, and the exposed metallic skeleton of the ruined monolith. He forcefully reformed the impossible alloy in mid-air. He wove the shattered metal into a colossal, inescapable metallic cage, wrapping the reformed adamantium entirely around the thrashing Hydra, aggressively denying it a single inch of forward momentum toward the inner sanctum.
That was the absolute, non-negotiable tactical objective. He would not permit the corruption to take the prize.
Not a single meter nor a single footstep... The Hydra had finally successfully shattered his adamantium tower masterpiece. It possessed five sovereign cores and was armed with relics structurally superior to adamantium so it was expected.
But as long as Ren was still breathing, it would absolutely not cross that threshold.
♢♢♢♢
"Begin now, Moosh," Ren thought, his mental voice a steel wire pulled taut.
He was aggressively manipulating the colossal mass of metal to stop the beast with every ounce of his control, his system screaming in protest. High above, his five elemental crystals slowly accelerated their orbit, and deep within his shadow space, the primordial dragon cores began to aggressively pulse.
"Start the activation sequence and be ready!"
A second, gargantuan spike of hyper-compressed adamantium shot at an insane speed out from the huge void of Ren’s internal space. Driven by the huge kinetic force of Ren’s three hundred percent overload and heavily accelerated by the sovereign wind mana, the massive spike tore through the ash-choked air with a deafening, supersonic shriek.
It slammed directly into the flank of the five-headed Hydra, burying itself brutally deep into the corrupted flesh and violently wedged to the ground between the Fire and Earth heads. The mutant meat split and hissed around the impossible alloy, a sickening cloud of vapor erupting from the wound.
Ren strongly clenched his outstretched fist, locking the structure in place.
The bedrock beneath the beast, supercharged and hyper-responsive due to the massive volume of exalted energy pouring from Ren’s system, promptly answered his command. The hyper-compressed castle stone tore itself upward in jagged, tectonic waves. It aggressively crawled up the side of the adamantium spike, wrapping around the metal like a vice, and permanently welded the spike directly to the unbreakable foundation of the castle courtyard.
Two absolute anchor points successfully established... Three more required.
