Chapter 1245 - Taming the Old World - New Perspective - 2
If there was one glaring reality on his mind, it was that this woman harbored a fundamentally flawed, severely diminutive perception of everything existing beyond her gilded walls.
She existed entirely within an isolated corner of the universe and she arrogantly measured the vastness of the world by the square footage of her pristine sitting rooms and the polish of her antique furniture.
Ren hypothesized that perhaps, just perhaps, the core issue wasn't that Lutea was inherently malicious. The fundamental problem was simply that she had never personally experienced a single thing spectacular enough to force a cognitive shift.
He was going to manually adjust her perspective.
First, he transported her to one of the towering royal spires... However, he deliberately chose the exterior route. He scaled the high stone structure while carrying her over his shoulder, ascending the vertical surface all the way to the absolute highest pinnacle.
Throughout the grueling climb, Lutea protested, kicked frantically, and screamed venomous threats using every single ounce of air in her lungs. So the moment they finally breached the summit, Ren seamlessly manifested a small Wood affinity muzzle; weaving soft but unyielding vines directly across her mouth, instantly cutting off her torrential flood of 'aristocratic indignation' mid-syllable.
Lutea was practically radiating steam.
Her eyes burned with pure, unadulterated fury above the restrictive vines. But Ren absolutely had not dragged her up to this dizzying altitude to hear or entertain her complaints.
He firmly rotated her shoulders, physically forcing her to look outward. The sprawling capital stretched out very far below them.
And it was not merely the city that demanded attention. Leveraging the combined elevation of the soaring spire and the royal castle itself, which already sat upon the absolute highest natural ridge crowning the territory like a stone-capped mountain, the panoramic view extended to impossible distances.
The colossal, unbroken circular perimeter of the external Great Wall firmly embraced the entire urban space. The neutral plains rolling beyond the barricades stretched out toward the horizon. And in the extreme distance, hovering near the geographic boundary of the Iron ring where the late afternoon sun was beginning to bleed into twilight, the bioluminescent trees were just starting to glow. They ignited like faint, scattered stars blooming across the horizon, looking exactly as if the earth itself was slowly powering up its ethereal network.
Ren allowed Lutea to absorb the overwhelming visual data for a long moment before he finally spoke.
"The reality going on outside your castle is exponentially larger than you believe," he murmured softly, completely devoid of any lingering malice. "It is infinitely more imposing and vastly more majestic than any gilded sitting room. Look at that horizon... These big old trees igniting at sunset, located so far away they register as nothing more than small pinpricks of light. The huge walls tirelessly shielding over a million civilians. The mana rings after that one we cannot even perceive from this elevation are massively larger still..."
Lutea, despite her own stubborn resistance, was actually looking.
"Your luxurious quarters are undeniably beautiful," Ren continued. "I cannot deny that fact... They are expansive, heavily gilded, and incredibly comfortable compared to any other house. But houses… They in essence cannot compare to this scale. Absolutely no chamber within this entire fortress, regardless of its architectural splendor, is remotely as significant as the huge world existing just beyond your stone walls."
For one fleeting, fragile second, Lutea was genuinely paying attention.
Ren instantly registered the cognitive shift. The blinding fury blazing in her eyes dimmed for a second, rapidly replaced by something profoundly quieter as her gaze traced the colossal size of the Great Wall, the implied borders of the new inner wall, and the distant, glowing canopy of the Iron rank forest. Perhaps, for the very first time in decades, she was actually witnessing the true, overwhelming scale of the domain her husband had sacrificed his life to defend.
The moment did not last…
She abruptly resumed her frantic kicking, thrashing wildly against Ren's ironclad grip as her 'aristocratic indignation' aggressively reclaimed the mental territory it had momentarily lost to awe and terror.
She was simply not prepared to allow herself to be moved. Absolutely not under these humiliating circumstances, definitely not by a lowly plebeian, and entirely against her own will.
Ren sighed heavily.
"Do not worry," he informed her, his tone almost gentle. "This is not the only view you are going to experience today."
He firmly secured his grip on the back of her elaborate dress.
And he casually stepped off the ledge into the abyss.
The stone spire instantly vanished above them as gravity took hold, the distant courtyard rushing up to meet them, the roaring wind battering their bodies as they plummeted from the absolute highest elevation in the entire capital. Lutea desperately opened her mouth to unleash a terrified scream, but the gag of rigid vines instantly swallowed the sound. The only noise that managed to escape was a muffled, suffocated shriek as the entire world expanded beneath them, and the reclusive Queen who refused to leave her corner fell, for the very first time in her life, directly toward absolutely everything existing beyond her castle walls.

Mid-fall, Ren deployed his crystallized wings.
They glided, the terrifying plunge seamlessly transitioning into a smooth, controlled descent, and Ren corrected their trajectory directly toward the heart of the city.
Lutea, pressed tightly against his back, abruptly ceased her muffled shrieking the exact second she registered they were no longer plummeting toward the pavement at terminal velocity. The initial drop had been a purely calculated shock tactic, not a lethal threat, and now the sprawling urban landscape slowly unfolded far beneath the glowing wings.
The central district was significantly more congested than it had ever been.
The late afternoon hour certainly did not alleviate the logistical nightmare... However, driven by the absolute military directive to consolidate within the inner defensive perimeter, the entire civilian population was aggressively packed into the very core of the capital. Entire families hauled heavy bundles of personal belongings, desperately searching for any available corner to settle down, effectively transforming the major thoroughfares into overflowing rivers of humanity. The atmosphere was profoundly uncomfortable, suffocatingly dense, and utterly chaotic.
And precisely because of that overwhelming density, Ren calculated, this was the absolute perfect moment for the reclusive Queen to witness exactly how many calloused hands were genuinely required to sustain a kingdom.
