Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 282: Progenitor

Chapter 282: Progenitor

Selthia’s eyes squinted as she expected the worse. She no longer had the strength to fight against the witch and the dragon.

Tears rolled down her delicate face as she accepted her fate. She opened her eyes one final time, but just then...

BOOM!

What happened next was a blur. One minute, the witch of greed and her dragon were on a crash course for her; the next, both she and the dragon were incinerated.

All Selthia saw was an orange streak of light that impacted the dragon and the witch. The dragon exploded upon impact, and what remained of it rained from the sky.

The once massive purple dragon now looked like melted candle wax as it landed on the ground.

Just like that, her enemies were wiped. She didn’t need to question who had done it. From all she saw, she already knew.

"Darling?"

At that moment, she made up her mind. She needed to get stronger, and for that, she needed help. She knew that only her mother could help her master her power and train effectively. How could she protect the ones she loved if she wasn’t strong enough?

"That witch... I’m sorry, darling. I’m going back home to Atlantis."

...

After dealing with the witch of greed, I hurried back to Damian. The Dullahan was holding him off just for a second.

Back there, Yuki looked severely injured, but she should be fine once her healing ability kicks in. What I was mostly worried about was Selthia. She seemed to be taking what happened hard.

But I’m sure she will be fine.

Kumo and the Valkyrie queen seemed to have managed to capture the witch of sloth. My senses were so heightened that I knew everything that was going on throughout the entire city.

Every heartbeat was counted, and I knew every one. Every skitter of a cockroach in a gutter. Every flap of a fly’s wings.

I knew it all.

My guess was that the witch of sloth and greed was organizing the people of the city, getting them to fight against us.

With them out of the way, the people of this city will be helpless. Just by launching myself off the ground, I was able to propel myself like a rocket towards Damian.

The Dullahan, along with Skoll, Hati, 10 shadow hounds, and 10 Garmrs, were desperately trying to hold him off, but he made quick work of them.

The heat around my body caused an orange aura to form around me.

It also made my punches more impactful, creating a small explosion whenever I hit something. That was how I was able to kill the witch of greed and her dragon in one blow.

I raised my fist as I plummeted towards Damian. The heat surrounding it was enough to melt through anything, and the orange aura around me gave it an explosive attribute.

Damian turned around at the last second, but by then it was too late. My fist crashed into him, sending a ripple through the air.

Immediately, our entire surroundings were covered in red-hot flames that turned the ground around us into magma.

It was as if we were fighting in a volcano. Damian was sent flying and crashed into the remains of a building.

I was gone for at most 5 seconds. From launching myself to where Selthia was, killing the witch, and getting back here.

Still, it took only 5 seconds for Damian to overpower them. The Dullahan looked as if he was on his last breath, and Skoll and Hati were almost ready to collapse.

"You guys should take a break. I’ll handle Damian tonight. I’ll summon you guys in the morning," I said.

They all seemed hesitant, but in the end, I made them leave. As soon as the others left, Damian pried himself from the rubble that had collapsed on top of him.

"Why does it feel as if you keep getting stronger?" he growled.

I shrugged and prepared myself for his attack. Damian hardly spoke during our fights.

Him speaking now must be a trick to catch me off guard.

"You’re no ordinary werewolf," he said.

"You’re no ordinary vampire," I shot back, which strangely caused a smile to form on his lips.

"There is a reason for that. My father was a Djinn. One of the first creatures to walk upon this earth. Who was your father?" he asked.

"He was a professor at a university. He was a simple human that fell in love with a werewolf and got turned."

Damian raised an eyebrow, a look of doubt crossing his face.

"That doesn’t seem right. Not for the power you’re exuding now. What about your mother? Who was she?" Damian asked, taking a step closer to me.

"She was a werewolf princess."

"That’s all?" Again, he didn’t seem to believe me.

"Yes. What about your mother?" I asked, since we were asking personal questions.

"My mother... She was the progenitor of vampires."

"Progenitor?"

It was the first time I heard that word.

"Yes, all supernatural races have a progenitor. An original. All progenitors were created by a Djinn. Djinns came in many forms and shapes and had different abilities and affinities. They all competed to see who could create the most powerful races. For example, the werewolf progenitor was created by the moon Djinn."

Oh, so that’s how it is.

"My father never met his kind since he was fairly young. He didn’t have a teacher since all the other Djinns are dead. Hence why he ended up creating the failures known as ghouls." he continued.

So that is how it is. The Valkyrie queen told me that Djinns and spirits were the first to walk on earth. She also said they were protected by angels.

Angels, Djinns, Demons, and Dragons.

So far, these seemed like main races who held all the power.

But who knows?

There could be other races rising above. With the mixing of different bloodlines, entirely new races were being created.

Khalissi mentioned that. According to her, one of the new powerful races that has emerged was Phoenixes.

Just then, as I contemplated the different races, the air pressure suddenly dropped, and a blur appeared directly in front of me.
