Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 311 311: Elves

Chapter 311 311: Elves

I didn't know a lot about elves since I'd never met these creatures before, but Therissa talked a lot about her people.

She spoke proudly about how kind-hearted her people were and how they would help anyone who asked for help.

I remember thinking that elves sounded naive whenever Therissa told me stories about them.

"I need your help. I wasn't the one who attacked Therissa. I was trying to get her back home when it happened; you can ask her about it when she wakes up."

That was if she woke up. In the state that she was in, I had my doubts.

The old woman continued to stare at me, the magic at the tip of her staff still swirling with energy. Then suddenly, the purple-tinted color began to change until it became a brilliant shade of green.

The girl behind the elder gasped, and her eyes widened.

"That's truth magic, so that spell wasn't an attack spell?" the girl asked in disbelief.

The elder only smiled and nodded, seemingly satisfied as she said,

"He's telling the truth; we should take him back with us."

"But…"

"No time to argue! Something is coming." The old woman snapped as she lowered her staff and rushed toward Therissa, trying to lift her up.

Seeing this, the young elf girl finally lowered her staff, which was still pointed at me, and helped the elder carry Therissa.

Together, we moved through the forest with haste. The forest violently shook, and wyverns plummeted from the sky. Dust, trees, and rubble. We continued until we finally came upon a huge white tree.

The tree stood out because the leaves were bright blue, and the bark was etched with different runes. The elder chanted a strange incantation before slamming her staff against the tree.

Immediately, a swirling blue energy covered the entire tree. The two elves continued forward with Therissa and passed through the tree as easily as moving through air. For a moment, I glanced back at the destruction taking place.

Something else was coming. I could sense it. From the moment I killed Theon, the air itself had a stillness. Soon, Lilith's bloodlust would explode and kill everything.

Prying my eyes from the sight, I stepped forward and passed through the tree. What unfolded before me was a village, but it was unlike any village I had seen before. The best way to describe it was that this village looked as if it was a part of nature rather than being carved from it.

It was more like an ecosystem than a village. One where all living things survived as one. The houses were built inside trees. Along with the elves, there were animals too. I saw birds, bears, deer, wolves, and many other animals.

They seemed to live in harmony with the elves. Beside the village, there was even a river.

"Come with me; I will take you to our king," the elder said.

With her words, I followed behind them through the village. Eyes stared at me as I made my way through, but I didn't pay them any mind. I was too focused on Khalissi.

"I need to bury her."

The elder looked back at me.

"That's fine; there are plenty of places here you can use as the burial spot."

"No, I want her back at Ryumon."

But that wouldn't be possible. I couldn't go back home yet. Not until I was strong enough. I would have to tread carefully from here. I had Conquest to worry about, and now Andros. Even Lilith. Whether she was my mother or not, she couldn't forgive me for killing her son.

It was still hard to believe. Lucifer and Lilith were my parents. Still, it doesn't matter. Derrick, Leora, Allison, and even Lily were my real siblings. The rest were just obstacles.

"We elves have our own way of burying the dead," the elf said. "We use magic to turn the remains of our dead into something known as a life seed. This seed is then planted, and it becomes a part of our home, helping it thrive. In some way, you can say the dead are still with us."

"Can you do the same with Khalissi?"

The elf looked at me with a complicated look.

"That woman is a demon, isn't she? Demons are impure creatures; spawns of the devil," she spat. "I would rather chew out my own tongue than turn one of them into a life seed. Dead demons need to be burnt from this world until nothing remains."

My fist clenched subconsciously, but I didn't react to her words.

"I see."

"It is out of our goodwill that we allowed you to come here with that thing, but we won't turn one of them into a life seed."

I nodded along while at the same time sending out my void hounds. Now that I had found the elf village, it was time to proceed with what I had planned from the beginning.

Soon, we came upon a large tree that towered into the sky. It was more like a tower than a tree. Just from looking at its outside, I could tell that there were elves living on the inside.

From the shape and look of it. The elves frowned when they saw me. I immediately knew it was because I was carrying Khalissi, but I paid them no mind as I continued inside. There were bioluminescent vines growing on the walls inside, lighting up the entire tree.

Inside had a strong earthy smell. I spotted owls perched on branches while a few young elves practiced their magical spells. We walked past them and continued up a staircase made of tree bark.

We continued until we finally arrived at where their leader was. It was a tall man with long white hair and amethyst-colored eyes. He was similar in appearance to Therissa. He had power. That I could tell. But he wasn't as powerful as Therissa.

A group of white tigers lay at his feet as he sat on his throne, fist resting against his chin, bored.

The elder and the young girl immediately bowed to his presence.

His eyes had a certain gleam as they landed on me.

"Who are you?"
