What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 1008: GG EZ

Chapter 1008: GG EZ

For the final groups to gang up against us...

"Did you see that coming?" I asked through the comms.

I could almost hear the shrug coming from her end of the call, "Ehh.... It wouldn’t be the first time it happens. I’m used to people all ganging up on me after they figured out who I was after all."

I guess that makes sense... If they figured out SonicSlayer was in their game, they would definitely try to get the glory of defeating her by working together with other players too.

Even if they managed to kill her with overwhelming odds on their side, the achievement of being able to best her would have been extraordinary.

For that reason, I suppose it was to be expected that we would be up against everyone that remained in the fight here.

With the loss of the Power Armour though, we no longer had the firepower advantage here and we were currently outnumbered as well.

Yet... That doesn’t mean we had no chance at all, at least that’s what I believe since we have SonicSlayer on our side after all.

I spoke through the comms to address her, "So... We can win this, right?"

Patricia’s voice came from the comms, sounding not at all concerned about our current predicament, "Ehh... If it was just me, I guess I might be in a bit of trouble. I’d probably be defeated here to be honest~"

I couldn’t help but swing my head towards her direction, "You’re kidding?"

"Nope. If I was on my own, I wouldn’t have taken this position to begin with. It paints a big target on my back~"

"So why the heck are we here then?!"

"Ehhhh~ Because you’re here with meeeee~" She giggled, already climbing up to the roof of the shack to set up.

I rolled my eyes and looked back at the path that led up to our cliff, the remaining players still on their way up here as a giant mob.

"Right... So what’s the plan?"

"Ehehehe~ I don’t have any~ I just plan to shoot whoever I can see, Tera~ And... Ehehehe~ Watch you from behind~ Mmmm... Unngghhh..."

That’s a really odd sound for her to be making at the end there... I’m pretty sure she’s also strapped into the VR Capsule right now so she shouldn’t be masturbating at least...

And seriously, what is there even around to be turned on by? It’s not like I’m doing anything erotic or anything.

Then again... I guess my girls also get turned on by the weirdest things I do so I don’t even know what to say...

Deciding not to think about it, I focused my attention on the path instead, trying to see if there was anything I could use.

The cliff was mostly open ground with hardly any cover aside from a few trees and the shack that Patricia was occupying right now.

Of course, there’s also the remains of the vehicles I had blown up as well as the broken pile of scrap that used to be the two Power Armour suits which were blown up by my mortar shell.

There wasn’t really much to work with but...

Hmm... Actually...

These players all knew that Patricia, or rather, SonicSlayer was in their game and currently on top of this hill, so she was their priority target.

In other words, they are most likely tunnel visioning on her position right now.

For me, I would most likely be just an afterthought or something, so they probably wouldn’t be looking out for me.

"Can you get their attention when they appear?" I asked.

"Ehehe~ I’m pretty sure I don’t need to try that hard to do that~ But you have a plan?"

"Something like that. It’s not really much of a plan though and shit will probably hit the fan once the firefight starts. You got any grenades?"

"I have a few~"

"Toss them over."

She didn’t even question it and tossed several of her grenades towards me, all of them not primed to blow yet, of course.

I scooped them all up in my arms and ran over to the wreckage of the cars that were still burning.

The game restricted the players to only having a maximum number of explosives in their inventory but if you carry them like this, you can bring them with you at the expense of not having your weapon out.

Thankfully, I wasn’t planning to stay in this state for long as I dropped the grenades into a pile behind the car and dove behind it for cover.

Right no time as well, since the remaining players crested the hill and started shooting in the direction of the summit.

They hadn’t spotted Patricia who was laying flat on the roof right now, they were just prefiring their weapons to try and get whoever that was left up here to scurry away to cover, giving them the chance to cover more ground.

I checked that the safety was off on my machinegun and also made sure my rifle that I was using as my backup weapon was also fully loaded.

Patricia didn’t need any instructions from me as she started firing her marksman rifle, downing someone in an instant and sending the others running for cover.

I heard footsteps coming towards the wreckages of the cars, clearly intending to use them as cover.

I immediately picked up a grenade and activated it, throwing it to the left in the direction of the trees before picking up another one to throw it to the right in the direction of one of the burning car wreckage.

Without pausing, I scooped up two more from the ground and lobbed it over the wreckage I was hiding behind and ducked down, right before four explosions wrecked through the area in quick succession.

I saw the notification at the top corner letting me know I just blew up five people with those grenade throws, cutting down their numbers drastically.

"Where are they?" I asked through the comms.

"Hmmm~ Coming from my left, three of them. Using the trees as cover. I don’t have a clear shot. Two on my right. Ran past the burning wreckage. You’ll see them soon. The others... I can’t see, the smoke from the cars are covering them."

Seems like she has sunk into her gamer mode with how she was speaking right now.

I hefted my machinegun and stepped out from behind my cover to start shooting towards the trees.

For them to be covered from Patricia’s position meant they were currently exposed to me and sure enough, I found the three people easily enough since they were just crouching behind a few trees while trying to sneak up on Patricia.

A quick burst from my gun was enough to wipe the entire squad out.

The two players who attempted to run past on the right ended up getting shot by Partricia with no chance of getting close and I was just about to look behind the wreckage to search for the last few players when someone rushed towards me and knocked my machinegun to point away from them.

Instead of trying to fight it, I let the gun fly out of my hands and pulled out my energy sword, stabbing it into his chest and kicking him in the abdomen to send him skidding back.

That impact threw off his aim as his shotgun ended up shooting to the side of my head instead, the guy tripping on his own legs and falling on his haunches.

I pulled out my rifle and gunned him down, turning him into particles of light right as another guy jumped over the wreckage in an attempt to flank me.

He was holding dual pistols and managed to shoot a few rounds that drained my shield before I spun and sliced him with my sword, moving past his guard to slice his health down to zero before he could completely break my shield.

Someone else came from around the wreckage, wielding two energy swords as he started swinging them erratically to try and slice at me.

A high calibre round struck him in the head which drained his shield considerably, prompting him to pause which gave me the time I needed to empty my rifle’s magazine into his chest, downing him before he could recover.

Two guys flanked me from the left and right, a shotgun blasting me and shattering my shield while the other guy fired his own machinegun in my direction to try and finish me off.

I leapt into the air, somersaulting over the guy with the shotgun and letting his comrade’s bullets hit him instead, which had no effect since there was no friendly fire in this game.

But at the very least, the bullets still disappeared when it hit him so I used him as a human shield as I sliced him apart while Patricia finished the machinegunner with her rifle.

The moment both of them disappeared, the sound of trumpets and cheering appeared in the air as we were crowned the champions of the battle royale.

Eh? That’s it?

Hmm... That was easier than I thought...
