Chapter 1012: Exposed From First Introduction

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... So... This is... SonicSlayer."

All of us were currently gathered in one of the Merc Guild’s meeting rooms upstairs, since I figured this would be a good place for a private meeting like this.

That... And also I was told by that Kale guy from the Reapers that he would also be dropping by to formally meet my team alongside his group that will be participating in the bug nest extermination as well.

Though the latter meeting was scheduled at a later time so we had plenty of time for my group and to get acquainted with Patricia before our meeting with the Reapers.

Also... Just saying... Not only did she request to meet my girls in this suit, she asked to be introduced as ’SonicSlayer’ instead of her real name.

I’m not sure why she wanted to do that specifically since it would be inevitable that they would meet the real her eventually so it was kind of pointless to hide it.

Nevertheless, I agreed to her request, which was why I was introducing her using her GalaNet name instead of her real name.

Patricia was standing on one side of the room while I sat at the head of the table.

On the other side were all of my girls and aside from Renata who obviously already knew everything but was playing along and acting like she didn’t, everyone else was staring at Patricia with narrowed eyes.

Well... I don’t blame them for looking at Patricia that way because the poor bunnygirl hadn’t said a word ever since she got in the room... And coupled with the fact that she was wearing an armoured suit that was hiding her features and also the fact that everyone here thinks SonicSlayer is a guy... They’re quite wary of ’him’ right now.

At least I know the truth that ’SonicSlayer’ was keeping silent because the real bunnygirl behind the suit was probably so nervous right now that she’s unable to say anything.

Seeing the silence stretch for a few minutes, Amber crossed her arms and jerked her chin at the suit, "So... SonicSlayer... You said you want to join Tera’s Mercenary company? More Specifically... Our Teran Mercenary Company?"

The suit gave a curt nod and I guess Patricia figured just plainly nodding her head might be seen as rude to everyone so she also blurted out a quick, "Yes."

It sounded deep and masculine coming from the suit but I can just imagine the real person squeaking out the answer from her VR Capsule inside her home.

Mara turned to me, "Are you sure about this, Captain? You know what our crew is like, right?"

I pursed my lips, "Well... That’s why I thought I should ask you girls first... SonicSlayer asked to be allowed to join after our collab and... We had a really good collab all things considered... And it also looks like they are quite good in this suit which quite effectively translates their in game skills to real life so... They won’t be a burden either."

Mara nodded her head in understanding but the other girls didn’t seem convinced.

Lea clasped her hands together in front of her, "Mistress... Forgive me but... If I may be allowed to speak freely, I would like to raise my objection against accepting a male on the crew... But if Mistress truly wish to accept him, I will retract my objection."

Lea... I know for a fact that you are objecting purely because having a male would mean you could no longer walk around the ship naked or in your underwear anymore...

To be fair though, I don’t want that to happen either so I probably won’t be recruiting any male crew members if I could help it as well.

Yumiko straightened herself, "Mistress, I must also voice my objection as well... I just have a... Bad feeling about him... I don’t know why, but he feels like a threat to me..."

A threat? Why would Patricia be a threat to you? You’re a former special forces soldier and a former Pirate Lord, you know? Patricia’s literally a perverted gamer who does masturbation toy reviews on the side. I mean... Sure, she could probably beat you in a game but I don’t think Yumiko’s much of a gamer either...

Vier steepled her fingers in front of her, "I don’t have an opinion on this, Tera. So I will go with what you decide instead."

Renata was also keeping her mouth shut though I knew she was having fun watching everyone’s reactions with how she was milking me below the table right now.

That was when Ries narrowed her eyes further and I thought she was going to call out something about SonicSlayer when she leaned over the table to inspect the suit closer.

"This suit... How did you even make this? This is custom made isn’t it? This looks like... Subdermal armour plates... Built in personal shields... You also have blade slots in your knuckle area but by the size of the hole... That blade must be pretty big... For it to retract all the way back into the arm like that... Hmm? Are you... Did you replace your limbs with cybernetics?"

Patricia seemed surprised by Ries’s earnest questioning and answered her reflexively, "Eh? No, I am not. You can tell this much just from a glance at my suit?"

Ries didn’t seem to hear her as she leaned further forward to inspect the suit across the table from her.

"Hmm... This armour... The lattices underneath... And the mesh... Wait a minute... There’s no space for a pilot? Hold on, this suit is being remotely controlled, there’s no one inside it!"

Woah... Ok... I guess... As expected of Ries? I should have thought she could see through the disguise easily given what she’s like around machines to begin with but... I guess the gig is up?

All of my girls turned to stare at my Maochatte lover.

"What do you mean, Ries?" Amber asked.

Ries pointed at the suit, "That suit is not designed to open up at all. There is no space inside the suit for a person to climb into. SonicSlayer isn’t in front of-- Wait!! Don’t tell me... SonicSlayer is an AI?!!"

Huh... I never even thought about that.

I guess for normal people, the thought that SonicSlayer might be an AI personality would never cross their minds since sentient Artificial Intelligence was outlawed within the USC. For an AI to be able to do what SonicSlayer does, the AI would have to be especially advanced in order to do that.

But for our group where we had already met some AI that were at Class Six and even a Class Seven at one point, I guess that thought was not as farfetched as it was to us.

Patricia seemed surprised by that accusation but she quickly denied it, "No, no. I am not an AI. I’m a real person!"

Ries swivelled her head to me, clearly not trusting Patricia and wanted to hear the answer from me instead.

I let out a sigh, "Well... Sonic... I think at this point, you might as well come clean, right? It’s kind of hard to come back from that."

Ries gasped, "I knew it! That means I was right, right?! Did I guess correctly, Boss?!"

I shook my head slightly and nodded in the direction of the suit.

There was a pause before a soft ’Eep!’ came from the suit which was followed by a static sound.

"Erm... Ermm... He... Hello?" Patricia’s voice came from the suit.

This time, it wasn’t the masculine sounding one but her real voice coming from the suit itself.

All of my girls stared at it in confusion before turning to me.

I gave them a wry smile before turning to the suit, "May I? Or do you want to do it?"

There was a pause before the suit started poking its fingers together shyly, "Ermm... You... Please do it... For me..."

I shrugged and gestured towards the suit, "Girls, this is SonicSlayer, otherwise known as Patricia. She’s a bunnygirl."

Amber perked up, "Bunny? Wait... A Purinki? Then that means..."

Mara also perked up, "Purinkis are only females or futas... Then you are..."

Patricia lowered her head, "I’m... I’m a female..."

Huh... So there was a name for the bunnygirl race? I thought she might have genemodded herself with the bunny ears... And you’re telling me the entire race had no males? That’s interesting.

Lea turned to nod at me, "Mistress, I would like to retract my objection now."

Amber chuckled, "Well, if this is the case, I would also welcome her as well! But we should meet face to face as well!"

Patricia continued poking her fingers together, "A... Ah... I... I will try... Umm... Tera... Tera can lead you to my place... Aauuuu..."

And looking at my girls, they seem to agree as well.
