Well... Everyone was just silent right now and staring at the overseer.
He was looking around, clearly flustered and looking for a way out. He even looked in my direction with a pathetic gaze as though he was hoping I would save him.
Why the heck does he even think I will help him after he tried to kill me?
...
Wait... He’s not thinking that because he’s a little bit of a pretty boy, he could try and seduce me to help him right?
Well too bad, if you were a pretty girl instead, I might have been incentivised a little to do that. It’s just unfortunate for you that you aren’t a pretty girl.
In fact, you have a really punchable face that I also want to punch right now.
Justin pointed a finger at him, "Station Master Docius! I accuse you for the attempted assassination of your own staff as well as a celebrated hero of our station! Come with us quietly!"
The overseer scowled at him and let out a shout, "You’ll never take me alive!!"
He reached inside his jacket and I suspect he was planning to pull out a gun or something.
But well... Like I said, he had a very punchable face that I really wanted to punch, so I was looking for a reason to punch him this entire time.
Since he presented such a reason for me, there was no way I wasn’t taking the chance.
I leapt forward, closing the distance between us in an instant and punched the guy in the face.
He got launched off the podium and crashed onto the floor, the filming crew capturing everything as they shifted the lighting and cameras to follow him flying off.
The overseer fell onto the ground with a thud, his hand slipping out from his jacket to reveal a pistol he had been reaching for.
"Gun! Gun! Gun!! He’s got a gun!!" I shouted, using that as an excuse to start kicking him.
I was quickly joined by my girls as they rushed over to me, all over them joining in to start stomping and kicking him while he was on the ground.
Obviously we didn’t use our full strength since we didn’t want to kill him here but we made sure it hurt.
Justin quickly moved to the front with his security team to start cordoning off the area.
"Everyone, please leave! This is a dangerous area! Please cooperate and leave the premises!"
I wondered if it was ok for them to leave since there were no doubt some who were his supporters amongst them, but I guess they weren’t important enough since we’ve got the head of the operation here.
I lifted my foot and stomped on his abdomen, knocking the wind out from him while Amber kicked him across the face.
Ries was kicking at his shin and Yumiko was stomping her heel on his chest repeatedly, her balance so perfect that she barely moved any other part of her body aside from her leg she was using to stomp on him.
I switched out with Mara to let her kick him as well for me to take a break, letting the girls have their fun with him as they continued to stomp on him from all around.
Eventually, they also got tired of kicking him and they gave him a final kick before stepping back.
The guy was bruised black and blue all over while his limbs were twitching pathetically from being beaten to an inch of his life.
His gun had already been secured earlier so we didn’t need to worry about the weapon being accidentally discharged while we were beating him up.
At this point, the hall was also empty as Justin had already moved everyone else out of the area, leaving only his security team and himself with us.
He stepped up to me and snorted in amusement when he saw the state of his former boss.
"Heh... I was thinking of giving him a good beating myself as well but I think seeing him being beaten by you girls is way more satisfying."
I shrugged before turning to him, "So what happens to him now? Do you take him to jail or something?"
He shook his head, "It’s time like this where I’m happy this station has such terrible public order. Letting him live in a jail cell? That’s practically too good for someone like him. He needs to rot somewhere where we get to take out our frustrations on him until we are satisfied. Putting him in a cell would mean he gets to be protected by the laws and we won’t be able to do that."
I raised an eyebrow, "So... What are you suggesting?"
"That’s easy. We just make him disappear somewhere. I’ll arrange a press conference and then give a statement to let everyone know the official story and show that you are still alive of course. I don’t suppose you want another parade?"
I grimaced, "No thank you... I am done with those already."
He shrugged, "In that case, just the press conference then. We’ll just show that you are alive and well and then I just need to let everyone in the station know what the overseer has done before I send out a request for another overseer to take his place. Hopefully we get a better one this time."
"I thought you would just take over as the Station Master after him."
He made a face at me, "Ugh, no thanks... Being Security Chief is already enough for me. I have no interest in participating in all those politics and bureaucracy of inter station deals."
Well... I wouldn’t know what it’s like but if he is so against it... I guess there must be a good reason.
I turned back to see the other members of the security team going over to also give that guy a kick and a few punches before they secured him in handcuffs and dragged him away. And no, they did not stand him up, they literally grabbed his ankles and just dragged him off like he was a sack of meat or something.
I watched him get dragged away with detached interest, like I was watching some kind of animal being led away to get slaughtered.
Amber immediately came over with a scowl on her face, "Hey, we’re not done with that guy yet, ok?"
Justine grinned, "Don’t worry. We’re just taking him down to the med bay to get him patched up. He’s not going to be free anytime soon. You can visit him later once he’s at least conscious enough again.
That seemed to satisfy her and the rest of my girls before they gave me a questioning glance.
I shrugged and nodded, giving them the go ahead for them to follow after those security guys so that they could continue tormenting the guy.
I’ve already had my share of fun beating him up just now and I honestly felt there’s better things for me to do instead of beating the guy himself.
Namely... I wanted to check with those Reaper guys if the plan to return to the bug nest was still in place and also with the supposed collab with the SonicSlayer guy.
I’ll go and see what they’re doing to that guy once I’ve confirmed these two things.
The girls left with Justin showing them the way while I took out my Codex to start sending a couple of messages.
The first was to that Reaper guy named Kale, typing a quick message asking if his team was already here.
I didn’t need to wait long before he replied through the text message app, "So you’re still alive. I figured something like that wouldn’t be able to kill you."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence."
"It’s just facts. If something like that was enough to take you out, you would not have been able to survive taking on a bug nest on your own."
"So I take it that the agreed contract is still up?"
"Yes. My team will be arriving soon. I will call you again once they have arrived."
That’s good to see. I’m more surprised that he actually believed I didn’t die.
I guess he expected me to have some kind of shield or equipment that protected me from assassination attempts like this.
Well... Considering what or who I was wearing... He’s not wrong.
I then checked the conversation with SonicSlayer to see if they had any updates.
He had first told us that they were interested in a collab and we asked him for more details.
He hadn’t replied to that message since then but right as I was checking the chat, a new message came from him.
"Just to check... You are the one known as Tera, right?"
Well... My face was already revealed after that parade so there was no point hiding it.
"Yes, I am."
There was a pause before he sent another message, "In that case... I am currently in the same station as you right now. Could we meet up in person?"
