Chapter 732 - 38: Domains and Cooperation
Chapter 732: Chapter 38: Domains and Cooperation
At the moment Lilia’s words fell, in the surrounding dead silent ruins, several completely concealed, rock-like calm auras rippled outward like water waves, turning from illusion into reality.
Soon after, three figures seemed to step out from the folds of shadows and broken walls, quietly appearing in the view of Lynch and his two companions. Their arrival did not stir even a ripple of energy, demonstrating an exquisite control over their own power, clearly they had been lurking here for quite some time.
Philis wore a gentle smile as he stepped forward to act as an introducer: "Young friend Lynch, no need to be nervous. These individuals are fellow participants in our tower trial."
He first pointed to a middle-aged man standing close by. This person also wore the emblematic white traveling cloak of the Truth Church, with a well-fitting light gray swordsman’s clothes underneath, his stature as upright as a pine.
His countenance was resolute, with pronounced jawline, sharp and clear eyes like polished gems, exuding a kind of intangible warmth as his gaze swept across, which was entirely different from the deep and kind aura of Philis. The most striking was his sunlight-pure golden short hair, standing upright, giving him a vigorous look.
"This is Duncan Wizard," Philis introduced, "afiliated with me from the Truth Church, in charge of the domain of [Light], titled ’Light Judge’. His sword can purify all darkness and filth."
Duncan nodded slightly towards Lynch and his companions, acknowledging them. His expression was serious, sparing in words, though his gaze was devoid of malice, more like a steady assessment. He held a Cross Sword with a sheath embedded with a pure sunlight stone, standing there like a lamp dispelling the fog, contrasting with this hellish environment.
Next, Philis turned his gaze towards the other two slightly further away. A natural aura of cold emanated around them, sharing lineage with Leo he encountered before, clearly from the Eternal Freeze Castle.
Among them, the witch appeared to be around thirty years old, her visage attractive yet devoid of expression like ice carving, a simple cascade of silver-white long hair resting on her shoulders, the tips seemingly crystallized with fine ice.
She donned an ice-blue robe seemingly woven from polar chill, cold air lingering faintly around the cuffs and hem. Her eyes were a rare ice-blue shade, calm as an eternal glacier that never melts, merely under her gaze, one feels a chilling sensation on the soul level.
"This is Sophia," Philis continued, "the ’Frost Sage’ of the Eternal Freeze Castle, her [Ice Rule] is refined to perfection, particularly adept in ice rune studies and barrier construction."
With just a slight glance, Sophia nodded softly towards Lynch, fulfilling politeness, then turned her gaze away as if indifferent to everything around, immersed in her own world of ice and snow.
The final male witch appeared much more capable. His physique was proportionate, dressed in dark leather hunting attire conducive to movement, overlaid with a deep blue cloak with a plush collar.
His hair was dark brown, closely cropped, with a faint frivolous smile on his face as if finding everything amusing, his eyes lively and keen, like a leopard waiting to strike on the snowy field.
His slender fingers were casually playing with a constantly rotating, cold-emitting ice crystal dagger.
"This is Alex," Philis introduced, "also from the Eternal Freeze Castle, titled ’Polar Hunter’. His [Extreme Cold Cutting] rule is peerless in offensive capability."
Alex was quite outgoing, halted the rotation of the ice crystal dagger, flashing a toothy grin at Lynch, his expression carrying a wild curiosity, "That stunt earlier was quite brilliant, kid. Being able to lure someone like Ragnar into a trap and take him out, you’ve got skills."
These domain level experts entering the Lost Tower this time were from the Four Great Witch Realms, three from each realm, totaling twelve.
The three here, plus three from the Tower of Order along with Leo from the Land of Extreme Winter, means these five are clearly the remaining domain experts.
Once Philis finished the introductions, the atmosphere subtly eased, though still carried the inherent scrutiny and distance when domain experts meet. Lynch, unfamiliar with these newly emerged experts, maintained basic vigilance and courtesy.
However, Kong seemed quite familiar with one of them. Her gaze turned toward the ice-carved beauty Sophia, an authentic smile appeared on her face, she approached briskly and cheerily stated: "Sister Sophia, didn’t expect it would be you this time."
Sophia’s ice-locked countenance, rare as it might be, showed an almost indiscernible gentle ripple, she nodded slightly, voice cold as colliding ice shards, still warmer than earlier indifference: "Kong, long time no see. How has teacher been lately?"
"Teacher is doing well, still mentions you quite often." Kong responded with a smile, clearly there was a considerable bond between them, likely stemming from their mutual schools.
On the other side, Vanilla also recognized Duncan, the bearer of the Light Domain. She stepped forward, right hand on her chest, performed a crisp knight salute with respect in her tone: "Lord Duncan, long time no see, your radiance still leaves one in admiration."
The lines on Duncan’s serious face softened slightly, nodded towards Vanilla, reciprocated with a standard church etiquette: "Miss Vanilla, your swordsmanship is increasingly refined, may the light of truth guide your journey." It seemed they had interacted before, leaving favorable impressions on each other.
After simple greetings, Philis cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention back to the main topic. He looked solemn, gaze sweeping over Lynch, Kong, and Vanilla, speaking in a grave tone: "Young friend Lynch, our appearance here is not coincidental, but rather to discuss cooperation."
Lynch already had his suspicions, now confirmed, his gray eyes flashed with insight, calmly asking, "Cooperation?"
"Indeed," Philis affirmed, then pointed towards the core area of the Broken Chapel covered by countless restriction lights, started explaining gravely, "The time we arrived at this 95th floor is not much later than those from the Tower of Order. But when we found this Lost Fruit Tree, Cyrus and the others had already completely occupied the place."
He showed a trace of helplessness and gravity: "As you can see, they’ve set up this terrifying restriction called the ’Purgatory Magic Array’ using the Lost Fruit Tree as the core. This array connects the earth veins, draws the rule power of this space, with layers of restrictions, integrating both offense and defense, continuously providing energy to the array’s master, extremely difficult to break."
"Not hiding it from you all, after we arrived, we tried several times to team up for attack attempts aiming to breach a gap." At this point, Alex interjected, playing with the ice crystal dagger, while his playful smile faded somewhat, revealing a slight sense of difficulty:
"But the result... huh, under the array’s empowerment, Cyrus and Leo’s strength was augmented to a ludicrous degree, not only did we gain no advantage, but nearly got countered by them using the array’s power."
Philis picked back up, continued: "Due to the difficulty of breaking through, the old man suggested temporarily hiding on the outskirts, observing the operation rules of this array to locate potential weaknesses; on the other hand, waiting for other domain fellows yet to arrive. Only by uniting everyone’s power can we hope to break the array and seize the Lost Fruit."
He looked sincerely at Lynch and his companions: "We faintly sensed your clash with the Tower of Order earlier. Not only did you successfully lure them out, but with outstanding planning and skill, you took down Ragnar, also found a way to momentarily paralyze part of the array’s energy transmission... this undoubtedly proved your value, offering new possibilities for breaking the array."
Philis spoke with irrefutable sincerity: "Thus, I here formally invite the three of you to join us. With our five plus your three, that makes eight domain powers! Working together, meticulously planned, we can definitely conquer this array, break the monopoly of the Tower of Order, and share the soon-to-be-ripe Lost Fruit!"
