Chapter 49 – Finally Recovered
The next morning.
After enjoying a sumptuous buffet at the hotel, I took the restored train back to my hometown.
I stopped at a bank branch in front of the station, cashed in the Mana coins in Dungeons Go Pro at the counter, and deposited them into my account.
The total amount was 13,290,000 yen.
I think I felt a little smug, but the lady at the counter was cool and handled the process in a very professional manner.
I guess it is not such an unusual amount for bank employees.
I was eagerly recommended an investment trust, so I guess it’s not that unusual.
Huh? Why did I put the money in the bank?
Of course, it was so that I wouldn’t lose my possessions when I used Escape.
I am confident that if I accidentally lost half of my 13 million yen, I would not be able to recover for several months.
Even if I managed to get back on my feet, I’m sure I’d regret it for a few years.
After taking the bus from the station, I arrived at the Black Swan Forest Water Park Dungeon.
In the end, I decided to postpone upgrading my Escape skill.
Even with my current status, I would be able to solo through an A-rank dungeon.
If I wanted to, I might even be able to solo an S-rank dungeon.
I have plenty of time to think about it for a few more days and see how it fits with my other skills.
The purpose of revisiting a C-rank dungeon after all this time is, of course, this.
First, I wanted to give it a try.
I hit the monsters I came across with the Blackjack of Orichalcum Coins.
My attack activates Plunder, and with the effect of Steal, I am able to steal an item from the drop slot.
Whether it was the Treasure Hunt or my high Luck, I was able to get the items in the third drop slot quickly and easily.
From the Treasure Hobbit, I received Thief’s Gloves, a piece of equipment that increases the probability of stealing.
Item──────────────────
Thief’s Gloves
A favorite of thieves, these gloves increase dexterity.
Defense +15, Agility +40

Confirmation that the conditions for releasing secret information have been met.
Secret──────────────────
Thief’s Gloves secret information release requirement: Possesses skills to steal equipment and items, such as Steal and Plunder.
Reward: Release of additional detailed information about Thief’s Gloves. The following information will be revealed.
────────────────────
Info──────────────────
Thief’s Gloves
When worn, these gloves increase the success rate of skills that steal equipment and items, such as Steal and Plunder, by 5%.
────────────────────
The Thief’s Gloves special effect is invisible unless you have the Steal skill.
Is this hidden information the reason why the Steal skill is not well known?
No, it’s probably because people think it’s a monster skill.
I don’t want it to become too popular, so I won’t tell anyone how to get it.
Now, Thief’s Gloves, I’m wondering what to make of the 5% increase in the success rate of Steal?
I’ve heard that the maximum success rate for Steal is 80%.
80% and 85%.
If this were a strategy SLG with all the famous robots in one place, I think it would be different.
When I find a group of monsters in my path, I leave one behind and use Plunder to kill it and collect the item that drops.
If I’m unlucky, I won’t be able to steal it, but it’s not like there’s any item I want.
My attack power is low compared to other abilities, but I can still kill any enemy in this dungeon with a single blow.
I have Assassination, Fatal Crit, and Heaven’s Punishment for physical attacks, but even without them, I can get by.
I advance the shortest distance on the Mini Map, plundering the monsters I see.
While I was checking the trend of items to steal, I arrived at the boss room at the bottom of the fourth floor.
Come to think of it, I never entered the dungeon shrine when I went from floor to floor.
That’s okay, though, since I don’t have any urgent wishes at the moment.
Now, in the boss room, there is the same Gigant Rock Golem as before.

────────────────────
…Is it just me, or does it seem like a shabby piece of work?
It’s not that this guy is shabby.
All that matters is the third drop item.
I attacked Gigant head-on and used Plunder.
‘You have stolen the Steel Shield!’
“It’s a failure.”
I turn my back on the dungeon boss and Escape.
I leave the door to the boss’ room open.
Let’s skip the Voice of Heaven telling me I didn’t get any experience or SP.
I enter the boss room again, approach it from the front, and use Plunder again.
‘You have stolen the Steel Shield!’
“Oops.”
I had no choice but to start again with Escape.
On the third try,
‘You have stolen the Elixir!’
“Alright!”
It worked.
“I finally got it…”
It hasn’t been that long in terms of days, but still, too many things have happened.
I dived into the Hikarigaoka Park dungeon just to get the Elixir.
The Elixir is not only needed for Haruka-san’s illness.
It is also an excellent recovery item.
One bottle of the Elixir can restore HP and MP.
But it is rarely available, and even when it is, it is not that easy to use.
It is said that some people are so reluctant to use it that they end up dying.
“So let’s go out and earn some more.”
You cannot steal items from the same monster twice.
Even if there are three drop slots, you can only steal one item.
But I have a way to reset the fight itself.
I turn my back on the Gigant and Escape again.
If I reset the fight, I can steal items from the boss again.
If I Escape again, the items I can steal will not be the same as before but will be drawn from the three slots again.
The result of the fourth Plunder is,
“Elixir!”
Even though I didn’t earn any SP, this is a great way to earn some.
Elixir, Elixir, Steel Shield, Elixir, Steel Shield, Steel Shield, Elixir, Ring of Protection, Steel Shield, Elixir, Elixir, Ring of Protection, Steel Shield, Elixir, Elixir, Ring of Protection.
For me, the Steel Shield is currently too weak a piece of equipment to be more than a margin of error, but it has a certain need among novice to intermediate explorers.
The Ring of Protection is a popular accessory for both vanguards who want to increase their defense and rearguards who want to compensate for being hit.
Both of these accessories can be sold for a modest profit.
By the way, the Ring of Protection I gave to Honoka-chan before was blue, just like her eyes, but the rings I got today are all gray stones.
Maybe that Ring of Protection was a rare color variation.
The first one I got as a drop from this guy and the one I got from the treasure chest were both blue, so I assumed that these rings were blue.
Is there a slight difference in the name of the same item? I have never heard of such a thing.
“Oops, is it that late?”
The alarm on my phone brought me back to my senses.
In a dungeon, your sense of time tends to go haywire.
In such a situation, repeating the same task over and over again makes you lose track of time even more.
It’s a good thing I set the alarm in advance.
I have an appointment with Serika, Honoka-san, and Haruka-chan in the afternoon.
Considering the time it takes to get there, this is all I can earn now.
I escaped from the Water Park Dungeon with Evac.
