Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 379: Angel Ivy?

Chapter 379: Chapter 379: Angel Ivy?

After resting enough, Ivy finally decided it was time to deal with the two people she hated the most.

The decision settled heavily in her chest, cold and sharp, yet strangely calming.

She changed into plain black clothes, fabric brushing softly against her skin, concealing every trace of weakness.

Silas stood nearby, watching her with quiet concern. His brows knitted together as he finally spoke,

"Are you sure you want to do this alone?"

Ivy turned toward him and smiled softly, her expression gentle enough to hide the storm beneath.

"If I truly need your help, I’ll let you know," she replied. "But for now, I want to handle this myself."

Silas studied her face, worry deepening in his eyes.

"You shouldn’t shoulder everything on your own," he said after a pause.

Ivy’s voice remained calm, almost eerily so.

"If I don’t deal with them with my own hands, I’ll feel like I’ve become softer," she replied. "And I don’t want that after my rebirth."

With that, she stood up and walked toward the door.

She appeared composed, but deep down, Ivy didn’t want Silas to see this side of her.

There were moments in the past when he had witnessed her ruthlessness, and she remembered the way he had looked at her afterward, full of heartache.

She didn’t need heartache.

’What I suffered in my previous life will be repaid in this one,’ she thought coldly. ’If someone bullied me, I’ll return it a hundredfold. If someone helped me, I’ll protect them until the end.’

That was the rule she had carved into her soul after rebirth.

Soon, Ivy arrived at a housing unit far removed from the main residential area.

The place was quiet, isolated, and faintly damp with the smell of dust.

This building had once been constructed for floor-testing experiments.

After Ivy left, Martha used to settle people. Coincidentally, or perhaps fatefully, Dr. Thompson and his son were now living here.

Ivy paused briefly at the entrance, her fingers brushing the doorbell before pressing it calmly.

The door opened.

Dr. Thompson appeared before her, a short, nearly bald man with dull eyes that briefly lit up when he saw her. Ivy offered him a gentle smile.

For a fleeting moment, a faint glimmer of lust flashed across Thompson’s eyes, but he quickly masked it.

"Miss Ivy?" he said, surprised. "What brings you here?"

He stepped aside immediately, gesturing for her to enter.

After all, Ivy was a representative of the base. Her status was second only to the base leader himself.

Thompson was well aware of that. He had once harbored intentions toward her, but after seeing her true power, he had buried those thoughts deep.

Still, the moment Ivy stood at his door, his heart raced.

’Could it be...?’ he wondered. ’Did she discover my potential?’

His mood instantly lifted.

Once Ivy stepped inside, he smiled and spoke again.

"Please, make yourself comfortable. What brings you here today?"

Ivy glanced around before smiling lightly.

"Aren’t you going to offer me something to eat?"

Dr. Thompson’s eyes lit up instantly.

"Of course. Of course," he said eagerly. "Please sit. I’ll bring you some snacks."

He hurried into the kitchen.

As soon as he was out of sight, Ivy calmly scanned the room.

She took out a fine powder and discreetly sprinkled it into the air, the grains dissolving almost instantly.

Then she swallowed a pill without hesitation.

When Dr. Thompson returned, Ivy casually took out a bottle of perfume and sprayed it lightly over herself.

The floral scent spread through the room, completely masking the powder’s faint trace.

Dr. Thompson noticed nothing.

His attention was entirely focused on the pink-haired woman seated in his living room.

He placed the snacks on the table, hands trembling slightly.

Ivy glanced at them briefly before looking up.

"Where is your son?"

Dr. Thompson responded immediately,

"He’s out for an interview. He should be back soon."

Then, after a short pause, he added,

"Is there something you need help with?"

Ivy nodded slowly.

"I have something personal I want to share," she said softly. "And I want to know what you think."

Dr. Thompson’s heart began to race.

Dirty thoughts crept into his mind as he stared at her delicate features. ’A secret?’ he thought greedily. ’If I get hold of it, I can later use it to blackmail her and marry her...’

Outwardly, he maintained a calm expression, though suspicion flickered briefly.

Sensing his hesitation, Ivy looked at him seriously.

"I’m being very sincere," she said. "I’ve taken a liking to your son. I want to become his wife."

Dr. Thompson froze.

For a moment, he couldn’t even process her words.

Then jealousy surged violently through him.

’That brat... he gets everything,’ he thought bitterly. ’Even a woman like her.’

An uncomfortable heat rose in his body as memories of his own forced marriage surfaced.

Compared to Ivy, the woman he had married felt unbearably dull.

He clenched his fist subtly and finally spoke.

"That might not be possible," he said slowly. "My son already likes someone else."

A trace of regret appeared on Ivy’s face.

"That’s unfortunate," she said softly. "I would have truly loved him otherwise."

Then she looked straight at Thompson.

"If you can convince him," she added calmly, "I’m willing to give you a portion of the base."

For the first time, Thompson’s composure shattered.

His heart pounded violently as he stared at her.

"What do you mean?"

Ivy replied evenly,

"I own half of the base’s property. The base leader granted it to me as a reward for loyalty."

The room fell into stunned silence.

Hearing those words, Dr. Thompson’s heart began to pound so loudly that it felt as if it might burst out of his chest.

In that instant, the value of the woman sitting before him skyrocketed beyond measure. His palms grew damp, and a faint heat crawled up his neck.

He took a deep breath and forced himself to speak steadily.

"If that’s the case, then I’m willing to help you get closer to my son, Angel."
