Chapter 380: Skin Ball
Chapter 380: Chapter 380: Skin Ball
Midway through his sentence, however, a strange sensation crept over him.
His left arm twitched uncontrollably, followed by a faint numbness spreading across his shoulder.
He frowned, confusion flickering through his eyes.
Before he could question it, Ivy tilted her head slightly and looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"Do you have some kind of hereditary illness?" she asked lightly. "You suddenly look... rather unpleasant."
The words struck him like a slap.
Dr. Thompson immediately forgot about everything else. Panic surged through him as he hurried to reassure her.
"You’re misunderstanding," he insisted quickly. "It’s nothing like that. I’m perfectly fine."
Yet the twitching grew worse. His fingers spasmed, his leg jerked, and a cold sweat soaked into his clothes.
Still, in his desperation to flatter Ivy and secure the golden opportunity before him, he completely ignored his worsening condition.
If he had been even a little sober-minded, he would have realized the truth.
He was poisoned.
But his mind was consumed by greed. The "golden egg" in front of him blinded him so thoroughly that he could no longer sense the danger crawling through his veins.
When Ivy saw that Dr. Thompson was on the verge of paralysis, she smiled gently.
"You don’t need to worry," she said softly. "I’ll take care of you."
Those words finally pierced his foggy thoughts.
Something was wrong.
Fear flashed through his eyes, but before he could speak again, darkness swallowed his vision.
When he opened his eyes once more, everything was black.
A suffocating stench filled his nose, the unmistakable smell of rot, like a dead rat left to decay in a corner. His heart slammed violently as he tried to move, only to realize that he couldn’t.
Cold metal pressed against his wrists and ankles.
Chains.
He was strapped tightly to a military bed.
Panic exploded inside him. He thrashed instinctively, the chains clanking loudly in the darkness.
Above him, a single hanging lamp flickered weakly, casting distorted shadows across the walls.
"What’s going on?" he screamed hoarsely. "Is anyone there?"
Footsteps echoed faintly in response.
Slow. Deliberate.
When Ivy stepped into the dim light, Dr. Thompson’s fear erupted into hysteria.
"Who are you?" he shouted wildly. "Why would you kidnap me? You’re a devil! What kind of evil thing are you planning to do?"
Ivy chuckled softly, the sound eerily calm in the oppressive room.
"I was reviewing some documents you own," she said casually. "And I came across a proposal where you wanted to conduct experiments inside my base."
She leaned slightly closer.
"Since you seemed so confident about their effectiveness, I decided to verify them myself."
Shock and horror flooded Dr. Thompson’s face. His eyes widened as he shook his head violently.
"No!" he cried. "I don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t know why you’re targeting me, but I swear I’ll never cross your path again. I won’t say a word. Just let me go."
Ivy laughed quietly. She dragged a chair across the concrete floor, the scraping sound sharp and unpleasant, and sat beside him.
"Let me tell you a story," she said calmly. "About a girl who possessed a power that attracted countless greedy people."
Her voice remained steady as she continued.
"They kidnapped her. They strapped her to a bed. They implanted circuits into her body, violated her, assaulted her, and stole her first time. They treated her like a disposable sex slave."
Dr. Thompson’s heart skipped a beat.
Cold fear crawled up his spine.
He had never told anyone about the fantasies buried deep in his heart... those twisted desires of restraining a patient and doing unspeakable things without consent. Hearing Ivy’s words made his entire body tremble.
Ivy continued, her tone disturbingly calm.
"What was even more disgusting was that those researchers pretended to be kind in front of everyone. They painted the girl as foolish and immoral, claiming she seduced them. In the end, she was abandoned, hated, and isolated."
She was speaking of her previous life.
Even as she recalled the repeated assaults and experiments, her heart felt unnervingly calm. The hatred that once burned fiercely had cooled into something far more dangerous.
A quiet thirst for blood.
She looked at the old man bound to the bed and tilted her head slightly.
"Do you know who I’m talking about?"
Dr. Thompson shook his head frantically.
"I don’t know," he begged. "Please, let me go."
Ivy smiled. "I’m talking about you."
Her smile widened faintly.
"If you had answered honestly, I might have spared you. But now, I’ve changed my mind."
Her eyes glinted coldly.
"Now, you’ll live out your fantasy."
Dr. Thompson thrashed violently.
"I have never done these things, so why are you punishing me?" he screamed.
Though they were indeed his fantasies, he has never acted on them.
Ivy shook her head gently.
"I asked someone to look into the future," she replied. "And what they saw was enough to confirm one thing."
Her gaze hardened.
"You’re a manipulative bastard. People like you deserve punishment before they commit unforgivable crimes."
She straightened.
"So I’m taking matters into my own hands."
With that, she took out a small skin ball.
The moment Dr. Thompson saw it, terror flooded his eyes.
"What... what is that?"
Ivy smiled faintly.
"A new invention," she said. "Created by someone I once recruited into my base."
She stepped closer.
"And now, I’m going to use it."
Dr. Thompson struggled desperately, chains rattling violently. Ivy ignored him and calmly pressed the ball against his face.
The next second, the ball vibrated violently.
A low hum filled the room.
It expanded rapidly, spreading across his skin like living flesh. His screams were cut short as a new layer formed over his body.
In an instant, Dr. Thompson’s entire form transformed.
Where an old man had been, there was now the body of a beautiful woman.
He tried to move. He couldn’t.
An invisible force held him completely still. The strange flesh-like layer wrapped tighter and tighter, crushing his chest and stealing the air from his lungs.
Whatever that ball was, it was not merely changing his appearance.
