Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 478: Isla’s Warning

Chapter 478: Chapter 478: Isla’s Warning

Time passed quietly as she stared at the ceiling, her thoughts drifting in and out.

Silas soon returned with a bowl of warm porridge. After he fed her and she took the medicine, the heaviness in her body eased slightly.

Silas studied her with a grim expression. "Your health deteriorated too fast. Why?"

Ivy shrugged weakly. "Even I don’t know."

Silas was about to leave when Ivy suddenly stopped him. "Wait. I think I heard Ember’s voice earlier. Something about an antidote."

Silas shook his head helplessly. "She really is loud. Even the hallway isn’t safe from her voice."

He took a deep breath and continued, "The antidote for half-zombies is done. Moona and Maxi were injected with it, and the results are quite favorable to us."

The moment Ivy heard that, her eyes lit up despite the fever. "Really?"

From the current progress, it meant she could likely complete the zombie virus antidote within six months to a year.

’Once zombies are dealt with, humanity can still survive natural disasters,’ she thought.

She looked at Silas. "Is there anything else?"

Silas’s expression turned serious. "The Ravencroft family is dead."

Ivy frowned. "All three of them... at the same time?"

When Silas nodded, she fell silent for a moment, then spoke calmly. "That’s fine. They were trouble anyway."

Seeing how indifferent she was, Silas finally relaxed. "I want to handle their ashes."

Ivy nodded in agreement.

For months now, especially the Nightbane family along with the Blackthorn family, had taken turns beating the Ravencroft family.

They lived a life worse than death. Even when dying, they begged not to be beaten anymore.

When they finally accepted their fate, they simply gave up. That was how the Ravencroft family died.

Some might have questioned how the Nightbane family could be so cruel as to kill people.

What they didn’t know was that in Ivy’s previous life, the Ravencrofts had killed her in one way or another.

What they received now was nothing more than karma.

However one thing indeed chilled the hearts of Nightbane

When Isla knew her death was near, she shouted, "You all will go to hell! Don’t you fearthe the consequence for killing us?"

"I don’t fear consequences. I have no mercy for anyone who made my sister’s life hell."

Magnus begged. "At least I didn’t make things too difficult for Ivy."

Ember laughed sharply.

"You beat her every day throughout her childhood and teenage years. You even planned to marry her off to a man who molested her, just for dowry. Do you feel no shame?"

Magnus shook his head.

"That wasn’t my idea. It was Seraphina’s. Honestly, I never hated Ivy. I even thought of her as my daughter. Seraphina kept saying that if Ivy stayed, the family would lose its prosperity."

Ember rolled her eyes. "That’s just superstition."

On the other hand, Isla was in an entirely different state of mind the moment her gaze landed on Ember.

Her lips curled as she stared straight at Ember and whispered, "One day, I will return."

Her voice was hoarse, yet disturbingly calm. "And when I do, I will take my revenge."

Ember met her gaze without flinching, though her fingers tightened at her sides. "You’ll never return," she replied coldly.

Outwardly, she seemed unfazed, as if Isla’s words held no weight at all.

Yet deep inside, a thin thread of fear coiled around her heart.

’What if she does come back?’

Ivy’s strange rebirth had already shattered everything Ember once believed was impossible.

The thought gnawed at her relentlessly.

’If Ivy could be reborn... then what’s stopping Isla?’

Her mind spiraled further.

’What if she finds a way to cling to life even after death? Or worse... what if she awakens some kind of ghostly power?’

The mere idea sent a sharp chill racing down her spine, goosebumps prickling along her arms.

"Stop," Ember blurted out suddenly, her voice sharper than she intended.

But it was already too late.

The moment everyone froze, Isla’s expression twisted into something unhinged.

She stepped back and slammed her head against the wall with a sickening thud.

Blood streaked down her forehead, yet she didn’t cry out.

Instead, she lifted her head slowly and smiled at Ember, a wide, hollow smile that carried no pain, only malice.

That smile pierced straight through Ember’s chest.

Her breath hitched, and she clenched her fists so hard her nails dug into her palms.

From that moment onward, her nights were no longer peaceful.

She began having strange dreams.

In them, Isla was reborn into someone else’s body, wearing a different face, hiding in plain sight, and inch by inch destroying Ivy’s life.

In another dream, even more grotesque, Isla crawled back into the world through the body of a zombie, her eyes glowing with hatred as she specifically hunted the citizens of SiIvy base.

Each dream felt vivid, too real, filled with the stench of decay and the sound of mocking laughter echoing in Ember’s ears.

The more she dreamed, the more her unease grew, until worry settled like a heavy stone in her chest.

Unable to bear it any longer, she finally told everyone everything, about Isla’s last smile and about the dreams that followed.

When Ember finished speaking, the living room fell into a heavy silence.

No one spoke.

Silas closed his eyes and took a slow, deep breath.

In the end, they reached a decision.

For now, they would tell Ivy nothing.

She already carried too much on her shoulders, managing the base, handling high-ranking recruits, and personally treating everyone close to her.

It was an exhausting, relentless burden, and adding this fear to her mind would only make it worse.

Meanwhile, far away from them, Nora, Ivy’s teacher, was sprawled lazily across her bed, lost in sleep.

Ivy had arranged everything for her and she hardly needs to worry about anything nowadays.

The room was quiet, the curtains fluttering softly in the night breeze.

Suddenly, her eyes snapped open.

And at that very moment, she realized she had just seen a very strange dream.
