Chapter 515: Jade’s Condition
Chapter 515: Chapter 515: Jade’s Condition
’If he had not harmed me, perhaps things would have been different,’ she thought.
She sat down, Silas taking the seat beside her.
The sight made Jade’s jaw tighten with anger. He pointed accusingly at Silas, but Silas ignored the gesture and calmly placed a document on the table.
"You wanted this. Read it."
It was the letter of seperation Jade had demanded earlier.
Jade glanced at it and immediately relaxed.
But before that satisfaction could settle, Silas produced another agreement and slid it forward.
"This one is new."
Jade frowned and read it.
It was a marriage registration.
Silas spoke evenly,
"Even after the divorce, Ivy decided she still wanted to marry me. So we remarried."
Jade’s expression twisted with rage.
"You tricked me!"
Silas chuckled.
"I did not trick you. I merely showed you how terrifying the human mind can be."
He placed the marriage approval papers on the table, then looked toward Ivy.
"My part is done. Now you should think about how to repay us."
Jade sneered, then turned toward Ivy again.
The hostility vanished instantly, replaced by an unsettling gentleness.
"You should not stay with a man like him. You can leave anytime and come to me."
Ivy was about to respond when...
A voice echoed inside her mind.
’Stay away from Jade. He is not a good person.’
She froze.
Her eyes darted around the room.
There was no one else.
’Did I imagine that?’
......................
At that very moment, Jade suddenly saw something.
A vision.
In it, Ivy stood before him, someone asking her whether she wanted the world peace... or her own life.
She chose the world peace
The next instant, a blade pierced through her heart.
Jade’s entire body trembled violently. Without thinking, he grabbed her arm and pulled her away as if dragging her out of that future.
The vision shattered.
He gasped, staring at her in panic.
But Ivy and Silas were only looking at him with horror.
Nothing had happened.
Jade blinked, disoriented, until he felt something warm running down his face.
Drop.
Drop.
It slid from his eyes, across his cheeks, down to his jaw.
Blood.
He was crying blood.
When he lowered his head and saw the red droplets hitting the floor, dread filled his chest.
’It will happen. That future will happen.’
He looked up at Ivy, his voice hoarse.
"You... you should find a body double. No you need to not think about the world peace."
Ivy stared at him, stunned.
What kind of strange request was that?
And why was blood coming out of his eyes?
She exchanged a puzzled glance with Silas
Silas watched Jade intently, something thoughtful and heavy settling in his gaze. Then he turned to Ivy.
"You should agree."
Ivy looked at Silas with a puzzled gaze, her brows slightly drawn together as if she were trying to understand something far beyond words.
In the end, however, she still nodded.
That single nod made Jade feel an inexplicable bitterness rise in his chest.
’So she did listen to me... but only because he asked her to.’
While these small victories and silent rivalries played out between them, something far greater was quietly unfolding beyond their awareness, something that would soon alter the course of history itself because of their decisions.
The cold was arriving.
Just as Ivy had expected.
The suffocating, relentless heat that had dominated the past months began to recede day by day.
At first, the citizens were confused. Then uneasy. Then restless.
Some muttered while rubbing their arms,
"Why does it feel colder outside than inside these days?"
Others laughed it off, rushing into the streets to celebrate.
"The extreme heat is gone! The weather is returning to normal!"
Hope spread quickly, reckless and impatient.
People began to believe that the world was stabilizing again, that perhaps the apocalypse had merely been a phase that was now correcting itself.
Markets reacted even faster than emotions.
Gold prices fluctuated wildly.
Property values surged.
Resources once hoarded in fear suddenly began flowing again as if nothing had ever happened.
Those who had committed questionable acts during the chaos started feeling uneasy, sensing that consequences might finally catch up with them.
Yet amid all the celebration, one man stood apart.
He stared at the falling temperatures with a pale face, his hands trembling slightly as he checked his instruments again and again.
"This is wrong... this is far colder than the city’s natural climate," he muttered.
When he tried to warn others, they dismissed him with laughter.
"You call yourself a weather forecaster?"
"You already claimed the heat was impossible, and now you say the cold is impossible too. Just admit you were wrong."
"Why are you being so pessimistic?"
Mocked and ignored, his warnings were buried beneath the noise of celebration.
...................
Meanwhile, Ivy listened to Jade’s request.
Jade sat across from them, unusually composed.
"I promise to stay far away from Ivy but I have my condition," he began. "Now my request is simple. Let me go. Let my father go as well, and I will no longer interfere with your life."
Silas and Ivy exchanged a glance.
That was far too simple.
’There must be something hidden behind this,’ Silas thought.
As expected, Jade continued.
"However, I need absolute permission to visit Ivy whenever I want."
Ivy’s expression darkened immediately.
"I do not agree."
Jade looked at her, his gaze suddenly pleading, almost desperate.
"I am not trying to ruin things between us. But I have dreamed of you since I was a child. Is it wrong to ask for something that has followed me my entire life?"
Ivy frowned, discomfort washing over her.
"This is not about deserving anything. It is about the fact that I feel physically ill whenever I am near you."
She even tried to demonstrate it to them, only to realize later that her body had mysteriously recovered.
Jade exhaled slowly.
"The illness that lingered in my body was transferred to you. After that, it disappeared. I am completely cured now."
He looked at her intensely.
"As long as we are near each other, you will not fall into a coma again."
Silas’s eyes narrowed.
