Chapter 514: First Meet

Chapter 514: Chapter 514: First Meet

Jade’s mother immediately screamed,

"You are lying! You are saying this because you are jealous of my son!"

Ivy let out a short, incredulous laugh, as if she had just heard an absurd joke.

"You truly will never understand."

Jade’s mother, feeling cornered, opened her mouth to argue again, but Silas stepped forward.

Without a word, he produced several documents and handed copies to those closest to him.

People leaned in to read.

Gasps followed.

The papers clearly recorded that Jade had attempted to harm Ivy by staging an incident that injured himself as part of the plan.

The evidence bore official certification, along with Jade’s own signature confirming his actions.

Silas then played an audio recording.

Jade’s voice echoed unmistakably through the speaker.

He had never realized Silas had been cautious enough to record everything.

Jade’s mother trembled.

At first glance, it looked like fear.

But in truth, it was the trembling of realization. She now knew her son had indeed been at fault.

Yet instead of accepting it, she clenched her fists stubbornly.

"So what? It was just a small injury! Could she not simply ignore it?"

Ivy was about to respond, but Silas stepped closer, his gaze sharp.

"If someone slapped you right now, would that also count as a small injury?"

Jade’s mother flared with anger.

"He would not dare! I would put him behind bars!"

Silas chuckled softly.

"You are this upset over a single slap, yet your son nearly caused my wife to fall into a coma for seven days. Do you not feel even a little guilt?"

The words struck like a hammer.

Jade’s mother lowered her head, utterly defeated.

After that, Seilas and Ivy clarified the entire situation. The truth spread quickly through the crowd, and condemnation shifted entirely toward Jade and his family.

"This is the first time I have seen a thief accuse someone else of stealing," someone scoffed.

Others waved dismissively.

"The moment we saw that woman" they gestured toward Grace "we knew this would be trouble."

"We do not even know who she is."

Jade’s mother, hearing that, quickly distanced herself.

"I do not know her! I have nothing to do with her!"

With those words, she turned and fled, panic and humiliation chasing her down the street.

She truly had no idea what to do anymore.

When she finally returned home, the silence inside her apartment felt suffocating.

She sank onto the sofa, staring blankly ahead, her mind racing through desperate possibilities.

’How can I get my son out? What can I do? Who can I beg?’

Just as she was lost in those thoughts, there was a knock on the door.

When Jade’s mother opened the door, she was met by a man whose appearance immediately made her uneasy.

He wore a mask that covered most of his face, a low cap shadowing his forehead, and dark goggles that hid his eyes completely.

Not a single feature was visible. Even his posture felt deliberately neutral, as if he had practiced standing in a way that revealed nothing about himself.

It was impossible to know who he was.

The man tilted his head slightly toward her.

"I have a deal for you. As long as you accept it, I will make sure Jade gets out of jail."

Jade’s mother’s breath caught. Her heart began pounding so loudly she could hear it echo in her ears.

"You... you can really do that?"

"That depends on your choice."

Her hesitation lasted less than a second.

"I am ready. Whatever the deal is, I will accept it."

’I do not care what it costs. I just need my son and husband back.’

Meanwhile, Raya was carrying out her punishment.

It was, in truth, very simple.

It could not be called lenient, but compared to the severity of her crime, it was far easier than what she had feared.

She had been assigned to clean Ivy’s apartment building for one month.

That was all.

At first, Raya had been tense every moment, expecting Ivy to make things difficult for her.

She waited for harsh instructions, humiliation, or some hidden trap.

But Ivy never did anything.

She gave the order once, then said nothing further.

Silas, however, was not nearly as calm about it. He watched Raya mop the floors with visible dissatisfaction before turning to Ivy.

"You are letting her off too easily. What were you thinking assigning such a punishment?"

Ivy merely smiled faintly.

"It is enough for my own satisfaction."

Silas frowned, about to argue further, when Ivy added in a calm, almost casual tone,

"I received a very good proposal from your friend. Because of that, I reduced your sister’s punishment."

Silas fell silent.

He studied her for a moment, then exhaled, accepting the explanation even if he did not fully understand it.

Ivy turned her gaze toward him.

"You already mentioned Jade. When are you going to let me meet him?"

Silas chuckled softly.

"That depends on you. But I should warn you... Jade is very obsessive when it comes to you."

Ivy waved her hand dismissively.

"I am already married to an obsessive lover. I do not have space in my life for another obsessive mystery."

Silas shook his head helplessly and led her toward the detention area.

...................

When Jade saw the two of them walking in together, fury ignited in his eyes.

Then his gaze shifted to Ivy.

And everything changed.

She was exactly like the Ivy in his dreams.

For a brief moment, something darker surfaced in his expression.

A deep, almost frightening obsession flickered across his face.

He wanted to reach out, to pull her close, to confirm she was real.

But he forced himself to stop.

The Ivy before him was not the Ivy from his dreams.

This Ivy looked at him with cold indifference.

The one in his dreams had looked at him as though he were the most precious gift granted by God.

His lips parted.

He almost called her ’Layla’

He swallowed the name before it escaped.

Ivy observed him quietly. He was undeniably handsome, carrying an air that could easily make others feel protective toward him.
