Chapter 608: Energy Threads
Chapter 608: Chapter 608: Energy Threads
Silas’ eyes widened in shock. "How do you even know all this...? You shouldn’t be capable of this yet."
Ivy frowned slightly. "I learned this from a manual; the main question should be, how did you know? You said you just needed to meditate."
A brief silence fell between them. Then Silas shook his head slowly. "No... this wasn’t from me."
He hesitated for a second before speaking again. "There’s... a voice in my mind. It guides me."
Ivy’s breath caught slightly. "A voice...?"
"It taught me how to control my senses... then my internal energy... and then my mental state."
Ivy straightened slightly, her eyes widening.
"Well, I learned the same from manul... the next step mentioned was mindset... and then it taught me how to control my power."
Silas nodded, confirming her words. "And after controlling the power... you can begin unlocking abilities."
Ivy looked at him intently.
"You’ve noticed it, haven’t you? Your strength... your speed... even your hearing... it’s far beyond normal humans."
Ivy nodded slowly.
Silas continued, his tone steady but serious.
"These are traits of superior beings. Since we’re hybrids... awakening them here is much harder."
He paused before adding, "To begin... you need to meditate."
Without hesitation, Ivy moved and sat directly on the cold floor. Silas sighed softly, a helpless smile appearing on his face.
’At least she’s eager ...’
He reached into his temporal storage and pulled out a mat, placing it carefully on the ground. Then he laid a soft cloth on top of it and gestured toward her.
"Sit here."
Ivy chuckled lightly before shifting onto the mat. Once she settled, Silas spoke gently, "Close your eyes."
Ivy obeyed, her world instantly turning dark. "Now... focus on your stomach area."
At first, confusion flickered across her mind. ’My stomach...?’
But she didn’t question him. Keeping her eyes closed, she slowed her breathing, letting her awareness drift inward.
Gradually... carefully... she began to sense it.
Then Silas’ voice came, low and steady.
"Can you feel it...? A different kind of energy... forming in your stomach area in this world?"
Ivy stilled.
Her breathing slowed instinctively, her senses turning inward as she focused more deeply.
At first, there was nothing but darkness and the faint rhythm of her own heartbeat echoing in her ears. But gradually... something began to shift.
A faint sensation. Warm... yet fluid.
Her brows furrowed slightly. ’I... can feel something ...’
As she concentrated further, the sensation sharpened. It wasn’t just one presence... it was many. Countless thin strands, moving gently, like threads drifting in an unseen current.
Her lips parted in surprise.
"There... there are threads..." she murmured softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "And... they’re not the same... they’re different colors."
Silas froze.
"What...?" His voice carried a rare trace of disbelief.
Ivy slowly opened her eyes, blinking as if adjusting back to reality, then looked at him with a slight pout.
"I don’t know why you sound so shocked... but yes, they’re there. They look like a rainbow... red, violet, indigo... green, yellow... orange... all of them."
Silas stared at her, his expression stiff. ’That’s impossible...’
"My energy threads... they’re completely white," he muttered, almost to himself.
Ivy shrugged lightly, her lips pressing together. "I don’t know... this is just what I see."
Silas inhaled slowly, forcing himself to think.
"If that’s the case... then your abilities might be fundamentally different from mine," he said, his tone turning thoughtful. "Those colors... they must represent something unique."
Ivy nodded, though uncertainty still lingered in her eyes.
Silas leaned slightly forward.
"These threads... they’re spread throughout your stomach area, right? Floating around... moving without order?"
"Yes," Ivy replied immediately.
"Then listen carefully," Silas continued, his voice growing more serious. "To awaken your power, you need to straighten those threads first. Bring them under your control."
Ivy’s expression sharpened.
"Once you manage that... you can absorb energy from zombie crystals," he added, his gaze steady. "Guide that energy into those threads. When they absorb it... they’ll grow stronger."
He paused briefly. "And that’s when your power begins to awaken."
Ivy’s eyes widened, a spark of determination igniting within them.
"I can do this," she said confidently, raising her thumb toward him with a bright, unwavering smile.
Without wasting another second, she closed her eyes again.
The world around her faded.
Darkness returned, but this time, it wasn’t empty.
The threads were there again. Dozens... no, hundreds of them.
They drifted freely, twisting and overlapping, glowing faintly in their own distinct colors like scattered fragments of a shattered rainbow.
Ivy focused on them. ’Alright... let’s start ...’
She reached out with her mind, trying to grasp them.
But the moment she did... They slipped away. Like trying to hold water in her hands. Her brows knitted together.
She tried again... and again... patiently attempting to straighten them, to align them into order.
But nothing worked.
The threads resisted her every attempt, writhing gently as if they had a will of their own.
A faint frustration crept into her chest. ’This... isn’t working ...’
After several attempts, she slowly opened her eyes, exhaling softly.
"There has to be a trick... right?" she asked, looking straight at Silas.
Silas chuckled, a hint of approval in his eyes. "You really are sharp."
Ivy raised an eyebrow slightly. "Don’t try to flatter me. Just tell me."
Silas smiled faintly. "You don’t control all of them at once," he said calmly. "Start with one."
Ivy blinked. "One...?"
"Yes," he nodded. "Pick a single thread. Straighten it. Once you succeed... move to the next. Then the next."
Understanding dawned in her eyes." Oh ..."
She gave him another thumbs-up, this time more determined. "Got it."
Closing her eyes again, she dove back into that inner world. This time... she didn’t rush. She focused on just one thread.
While Ivy immersed herself in quiet concentration, far away from that calm room, another scene unfolded, one far darker, heavier, and filled with tension.
Ferrero sat within a dimly lit space. Strange symbols glowed faintly beside him, forming a circular pattern that pulsed with an eerie light.
His face was pale, beads of sweat forming along his forehead. He looked at Jeff, his voice strained.
