Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 609: Prophecy

Chapter 609: Chapter 609: Prophecy

"If this much energy is required... you could’ve just used your own energy..."

Jeff let out a short, dismissive laugh. "Well, if it’s too much, just stop, alright?"

Ferrero’s eyes gleamed coldly.

"When the backlash hits... I’ll be the one who’ll die, not you."

Ferrero’s fists clenched tightly, his nails digging into his palms.

"Why didn’t you tell me the cost was this high earlier?" he snapped.

Jeff laughed again, this time louder, almost mockingly. "If I told you everything... would you have agreed?"

Ferrero fell silent. The answer was obvious.

"No," Jeff continued calmly. "You wouldn’t have."

"That still doesn’t make this right," Ferrero muttered, anger simmering beneath his words.

Jeff shook his head slowly.

"You don’t understand," he said, his voice turning serious. "Opening a portal is necessary. Our kind must return."

His gaze darkened. "Once they do... this world will slowly fall into our hands."

He paused briefly before adding, "But such a large movement... it will attract attention. Especially hers."

"Ivy..." Ferrero muttered under his breath.

"Yes," Jeff nodded. "And that temporal storage will tell her even if she avoids her detection range... it complicates things."

A faint smirk appeared on his lips. "That’s why... the flood was necessary."

Ferrero rolled his eyes slightly, though frustration still burned within him. ’He’s not wrong... but why me?’

"Why am I the only one sacrificing energy?" he demanded. "You’re just standing there like it’s nothing."

Jeff tilted his head slightly, amused.

"What can I do?" he replied casually. "I’m the brains... you’re the brawn."

Ferrero’s jaw tightened. "That was unnecessary."

"It’s the truth," Jeff said lightly, shrugging.

He turned his gaze outward, his expression unreadable. "If I wasn’t here... you wouldn’t even get the chance to take revenge on Ivy."

Ferrero lowered his gaze, his voice turning cold. "It doesn’t matter... once they arrive... I won’t be the one to kill her first anyway."

Jeff chuckled softly. "True... but she will die."

His eyes gleamed with cruel certainty. "And when she does... it’ll be no different from a dog’s death."

A heavy silence followed. Then Jeff suddenly paused, his expression shifting slightly. "There’s something bothering me..."

Ferrero frowned. "What is it?"

Jeff glanced at him. "You know... by sacrificing energy, superior beings can borrow another’s power."

Ferrero nodded slowly. "Yes... I know."

Jeff’s lips curled faintly. "I borrowed Felix’s power."

Ferrero frowned deeper. "Why would you take that elasticity ability?"

Jeff let out a low laugh. "Not that Felix."

Ferrero blinked. "What...?"

"I’m talking about the healer’s husband," Jeff said calmly.

Ferrero froze. ’There’s another Felix...?’

"I didn’t know..." he muttered.

Jeff continued, "I borrowed his ability."

Ferrero’s eyes widened slightly.

"And I used it... on you."

A chill ran down Ferrero’s spine. His eyes darted around frantically. A sudden, creeping fear gripped his heart.

’What... did he see...?’

He tried to move... But the glowing circle beneath him pulsed violently. He couldn’t step out. His body remained trapped. A cold realization settled in.

’I’m stuck...’

His throat went dry, unease rising like poison in his veins. ’Wait... what if... I’ve already been poisoned...?’

Jeff seemed to pause for a moment, as if turning something over in his mind, before a quiet chuckle escaped his lips.

"It’s already too late," he said, his voice smooth yet laced with something ominous. "I’ve already used my power."

Ferrero’s breath hitched slightly, the tension in his chest tightening.

"But don’t worry," Jeff continued, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "It’s not some deadly poison like you’re imagining."

Ferrero’s eyes narrowed, suspicion flickering within them. "Then what is it?" he demanded, his voice rough.

Jeff tilted his head slightly, almost amused.

"It’s something far more... interesting," he said slowly. "A power that allows one to see the past life of a person."

A cold silence followed. Ferrero’s fingers twitched.

Jeff stepped lightly within the dim glow of the circle, his shadow stretching unnaturally across the walls.

"You know," he continued casually, "there are quite a few fascinating individuals on this planet. Some of them... their potential is no worse than low-level superior beings."

Ferrero frowned, his unease deepening. Jeff nodded to himself as if recalling a list.

"Take Alana, for example," he said. "A top-tier healer. She’s already comparable to an average superior being... and she still has room to grow."

He paused briefly before continuing. "Then there’s her husband, Felix. His ability to see the past... quite useful."

Ferrero’s brows knitted together.

"And Nora..." Jeff went on, his tone almost thoughtful. "She can see the future... through her dreams. Dead dreams, no less."

A faint chill seemed to creep through the air.

"And then Ivy..." Jeff’s lips curved slightly. "Her ability to pull supplies out of thin air. Quite an intriguing power."

Ferrero clenched his jaw. Jeff wasn’t finished.

"And of course... Silas," he added, his eyes gleaming faintly. "The ability to awaken any power, as long as he puts in the effort."

Ferrero’s eyes widened slightly. "What...?" he muttered, disbelief seeping into his voice. "That’s impossible."

Jeff chuckled softly. "Of course it’s true," he replied. "After all... Silas carries my blood."

He turned his gaze toward Ferrero, his expression sharpening.

"You might not want to believe this... but among all of them, Silas has the highest potential to become a complete superior being."

Ferrero’s fists tightened. "That makes him even more dangerous," he said coldly. "He should be killed."

Jeff raised an eyebrow. Ferrero continued without hesitation,

"All of them should be killed. Every single one who carries superior blood."

His voice hardened further. "Ivy. Moona. Maxi. Bella. Jade."

Each name fell like a hammer.

"And Silas," he added. "Especially him. He was injected with the serum of half royalty."

Silence followed. Jeff didn’t respond immediately. His gaze drifted slightly, as if weighing something unseen.

’Ambition... or survival?’ his mind whispered. Ferrero noticed. His eyes narrowed dangerously.

"What?" he snapped. "Are you thinking of letting them live?"

Jeff remained silent. Ferrero’s voice grew sharper, almost desperate.

"Have you forgotten the prophecy?!" he barked. "If the hybrids aren’t eliminated... superior beings will face extinction!"
