Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 612: Who Is Jeff?

Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Who Is Jeff?

Silas’ jaw clenched.

"And the reason it can be cured..." Ivy continued, her voice quieter now, "is because of superior blood."

A faint realization flickered across her eyes. "...My blood."

Silas didn’t interrupt.

"I’m still a hybrid... but I’m considered a superior being," she said softly. "And my blood... it affects the zombies."

A thought struck her suddenly. Her eyes widened slightly.

’Then... could it be used directly?’

Without hesitation, she reached out mentally.

"Can my blood be used as an antidote?" she asked.

The Temporal Storage didn’t respond immediately. The silence stretched.

Then...

[Ten million KB points upfront.]

Ivy waved her hand dismissively, almost annoyed. "Forget it. I’ll just experiment myself."

A pause. Then the voice returned, slightly calmer this time.

[Five thousand points. Not less. Not more.]

Ivy raised an eyebrow.

"You’re lowering the price that much?"

[I can tell you more than what your experiment will reveal.]

Ivy chuckled softly. "Fine. Deal."

The answer came clearly this time.

"Your blood can act as a temporary antidote... but it cannot function as a vaccine."

Ivy’s expression stilled. "A temporary cure...?" she murmured.

[Yes.]

Understanding dawned quickly.

"If someone turns into a zombie... my blood can bring them back," she said slowly. "But if they get infected again..."

[They will need you again.]

Ivy exhaled quietly. "That’s not sustainable..."

Her eyes darkened slightly as another thought formed.

"But our research antidote..." she continued, "...it not only cures the infection but also creates resistance."

The pieces fell into place. "The vaccine they’re developing... it’s close to completion."

Silas nodded slightly. Ivy’s gaze sharpened with quiet determination.

’Then I’ll improve it.’

"I’ll secretly add my blood to the vaccine," she said. "That might strengthen it further."

Silas didn’t object. Instead, he looked thoughtful.

"If Jeff caused all this..." Ivy continued, turning toward him, "then why?"

Her voice carried confusion now. "What does he gain from making humanity suffer like this?"

Silas frowned slightly, thinking. "...I’m not sure," he admitted.

He paused, then added, "But after an apocalypse like this... there’s one obvious outcome."

Ivy looked at him.

"Humanity loses hope," he said. "And their population drops drastically."

Ivy frowned immediately.

"What’s the point of that?" she asked. "They’re not planning to live here among humans, are they?"

Silas hesitated.

"...Maybe not," he said slowly. "But whatever the reason is... we’ll find out eventually."

Ivy looked upward slightly, her gaze distant. Then, without hesitation, she asked,

"Is there any way to stop these natural disasters? Even temporarily?"

The response came almost instantly. [One billion points.]

"Five hundred million," Silas cut in immediately, his tone calm but firm.

The Temporal Storage snapped back sharply,

"That’s far too low."

Silas didn’t waver.

"Even with a billion points, you won’t be doing much," he said. "So let’s change the deal."

A brief pause followed.

"As Ivy earns KB points by helping people from the information provided by you... all those points go to you," he continued. "In exchange, you give her the answer for free."

Silence. A long, calculating silence.

Ivy stood still, her heart beating faintly faster.

’Will it agree...?’

The Temporal Storage began processing.

At present, Ivy was connected to nearly 300,000 people.

Even if each person generated just a huge number of points weekly...

As the thought settled, the temporal storage, as if calculating, weighing profit against patience, before finally responding.

"[...Alright.]

The voice echoed with reluctant acceptance. [I’ll agree to your terms.]

[But listen carefully,] the Temporal Storage added, its tone sharpening slightly. [If the quota of one billion points is not met... I will charge you immediately.]

Ivy didn’t hesitate. "Okay," she replied firmly.

Silas glanced at her, noticing the spark of determination in her eyes.

’She didn’t even think twice...’ he thought, but he chose not to interrupt. Instead, he folded his arms and waited silently for the answer to unfold.

The Temporal Storage continued,

[To completely stop the natural disasters... there are only two viable paths. First... find the one called Jeff.]

A pause. [And eliminate him.]

"Or," it continued, "force him to provide a solution."

Ivy’s expression stiffened slightly. "And if he cannot?"

"Then you follow the second path."

A faint hum echoed.

"Restore the balance of Earth. Plant more trees. Increase the planet’s vitality. Stop unnatural experiments. Allow nature to recover what has been lost."

Silence followed. Ivy lowered her gaze slightly.

"That... sounds simple," she murmured.

Then she let out a soft breath. "Its not something we can do right now..."

The Temporal Storage didn’t respond. Ivy lifted her head again, her eyes thoughtful.

"Maybe Jeff already has something prepared... some experiment... or some power that could control all this."

She paused, then asked directly, "Who is he, exactly?"

A long silence followed. Even the air felt still.

Finally...

[I do not know.]

Ivy frowned immediately.

"What do you mean you don’t know?" she snapped. "You’re the one who told us about him."

The voice responded calmly,

[I provide answers based on accessible knowledge. Whether I know every individual involved... is a different matter.]

Silas narrowed his eyes slightly.

"That sounds like an excuse."

[It is not,] the voice replied. [There are limitations.]

Ivy and Silas exchanged a brief glance. Neither of them fully believed it. But they didn’t press further.

’It doesn’t matter...’ Ivy thought. ’We’ll find him ourselves.’

She straightened slightly. "For now... saving people comes first."

Silas nodded.

"And if we go against what Jeff wants..." he added, "we might be able to disrupt his plans."

Ivy agreed quietly.

The next moment... both of them stepped out of the Temporal Storage, returning to reality.

Silas looked at Ivy.

"For now... we should deal with the superior that was once inside Damien’s body," he said. "It’s been too long since we last saw him."

Ivy nodded. "Let’s finish him first."

Without wasting time, they began issuing orders. More rescue teams. More missions.

Even as the conditions worsened, floodwaters rising, winds howling, resources thinning, they didn’t stop.

They couldn’t. Whether it was a human... Or even a zombie... They saved them all.

Among the countless people they rescued, one name stood out.
