Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 624: Meeting

Chapter 624: Chapter 624: Meeting

Ferrero chuckled. "Let’s see... how humanity holds onto hope now. That stupid Ivy thought that by making me promise, she would be able to safeguard her family... how naive. If I succeed this time, everyone would die!"

Their plan was simple. Cruel. They would use Ivy’s blood to weaken her aura.

And once her aura collapsed...the floodwaters would break through her base.

Half of humanity... gone. And Ivy would drown in despair. Perhaps even die. And if she died...

Her body, a perfect vessel. A hybrid. One of the most valuable bodies any superior being could possess.

Ferrero handed the container to Jeff. "You do the honors."

Jeff didn’t hesitate. He took it. ’Ferrero is already weakened... better not push him further.’

He closed his eyes. The container began to float. Cracks spread across its surface.

A sharp sound echoed: crack. Both of them froze. Their eyes widened. "What the hell?"

Before they could react, the container shattered. Blood exploded outward. It splashed directly onto their faces.

"Aaagh!"

A horrifying scream tore through the space. It burned. Like acid. Their skin sizzled, smoke rising as they staggered back in agony.

"Ahhhh! What is this?!"

They clawed at their faces, their voices breaking into desperate screams. The pain didn’t stop. It only grew worse.

Finally, with immense effort, they wiped the blood away. But then, their vision blurred. Their bodies swayed.

"What... is happening..."

Their voices slurred. Their minds... slipping.

They began to mumble incoherently, their thoughts unraveling as something far beyond their understanding took hold.

............

Meanwhile, Ivy walked in and glanced at her sister.

Watching a softened expression on Ember’s face, Ivy let out a quiet chuckle.

’Sometimes... being the villain truly is better,’ she thought, her lips curling ever so slightly.

The so-called superior beings, those arrogant entities who hid behind the name Ferrero, must have believed she would never dare to cheat them directly.

And indeed, Ivy had not cheated... at least, not in the way they expected. She had given them her true blood. Every drop of it was genuine. That much was undeniable.

But what they had failed to anticipate... was everything else.

Before the extraction, Ivy had calmly consumed nearly a liter of milk, the thick, faintly sweet liquid coating her throat as she forced it down without hesitation.

Even after that, she had gone further, far further than any sane person would dare.

She had injected milk directly into her own bloodstream.

For an ordinary human, such an act would have caused violent reactions, shock, rejection, and perhaps even death.

But Ivy was no ordinary human. As a superior being, her body accepted the intrusion with nothing more than a faint warmth spreading beneath her skin.

She had waited patiently, eyes half-lidded, feeling every pulse of her body as the milk blended seamlessly with her blood. She could almost sense the transformation.

Only when she was absolutely certain that the mixture had stabilized did she proceed. With a steady hand, she offered them five hundred milliliters of her blood.

To them, it was pure. To her... It was a masterpiece of deception.

The moment the process ended, Ivy slowly closed her eyes, her breathing evening out as a faint, satisfied smile tugged at her lips.

’Now... the real game begins,’ she thought, her mind sharpening like a blade.

Because the milk was only the surface of her plan.

Deep within that blood, she had embedded something far more dangerous: her power.

Not in its raw, overwhelming form, but refined... controlled... broken into delicate strands that obeyed her will completely.

A fragment of her essence slipped silently into the blood, hidden so well that even the so-called superior beings failed to notice.

She felt it. Every inch of its journey.

As the blood entered Ember’s body, Ivy’s senses followed, threading through veins and flesh until it reached its destination, the grotesque lump nestled within Ember’s leg.

Ivy’s fingers twitched faintly as she guided that hidden fragment of power forward, watching, feeling, controlling.

The lump absorbed the blood greedily. For a moment, everything stilled.

Then...a soft, almost inaudible puff echoed within her perception.

And it was gone. The lump vanished as if it had never existed.

The instant Ivy felt the connection sever, she exhaled slowly, a breath she hadn’t realized she had been holding.

Relief flickered across her face, though her eyes remained sharp, calculating. She wasn’t careless enough to trust appearances alone.

Tilting her head slightly, she turned to the clairvoyance guide.

"Check her leg again," she murmured, her tone calm but leaving no room for refusal.

Moments later, the clairvoyance guy stiffened, his eyes widening in disbelief.

"It’s... gone," he whispered, his voice trembling. "The lump has completely disappeared."

Ivy gave a small nod, as if the result had been expected.

But deep inside, her thoughts continued to churn. ’This isn’t over... not even close. If I’m right, this is only the beginning.’

There were too many loose ends. Too many things that did not align.

Turning away, she spoke softly, "Martha, arrange a meeting with Keith."

The next day arrived with an unsettling stillness. Ivy had stayed behind in her temporal storage to deal with the death wavelength around her.

Keith sat across from Ivy, his posture stiff, his eyes filled with unease. He looked at her carefully before speaking.

"So... do you have any questions for me?"

Ivy leaned back slightly, her gaze piercing as she studied him.

"Tell me," she said, her voice steady, "have you noticed any strange behavior... recently in your wife?"

Keith frowned, clearly caught off guard. He hesitated before shaking his head slightly.

"You’re overthinking," he muttered. "If that’s all you wanted to ask, then I’ll be leaving."

He rose from his chair and turned toward the door. Ivy’s voice stopped him cold.

"If you walk out now," she said quietly, "you should start worrying... about whether your wife is already in the clutches of something you don’t even know exists."

His body froze.

It was as if an invisible hand had clenched around his heart, squeezing the air out of his lungs.
