Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 641: Ivana

Chapter 641: Chapter 641: Ivana

"Use it," she commanded firmly. "All of it, if necessary. The priority is the people."

Her voice carried a decisive weight, one that left no room for doubt.

And so, the deal was made.

When the news spread that food had arrived, the entire base erupted.

"Food, where is it?!"

"Is it true?!"

"Don’t push!"

Even when the soldiers tried to maintain order, even when announcements were made that there was enough food for everyone, panic still spread like wildfire.

"No, there must be a limit!"

"What if it runs out?!"

"I need to get mine first!"

Arguments broke out. Shoves turned into fights.

The fragile order of the base teetered on the edge of collapse.

From a distance, Ivana watched the scene unfold, her brows knitting slightly.

’Even now... they still don’t trust abundance...’

With a quiet sigh, she reached into her bag and pulled out a megaphone.

The sharp screech of feedback cut through the chaos as she turned it on.

"Listen!"

Her voice rang out, clear and commanding.

The crowd faltered, some turning toward her instinctively.

"Those who are worried about food shortages," she continued, her tone steady yet loud enough to dominate the noise, "can come to Silvy Base."

A ripple passed through the crowd.

"There," she added, her lips curving slightly, "we do not lack food. It is available in large quantities, and anyone can purchase it."

For a brief moment... silence.

It spread gradually, like ripples settling over water.

People exchanged glances, their earlier panic replaced by something else, hope. And disbelief.

’A place... without food shortages?’

Soon, the chaos shifted.

Instead of pushing and fighting, people began gathering around Ivana in a more controlled manner.

Some even moved toward nearby buildings, trying to find space to sit, to listen, to understand.

It felt almost surreal. One by one, they started asking questions.

"Is it really unlimited?"

"How far is Silvy Base?"

"What do we need to trade?"

Ivana listened patiently.

She categorized their concerns, answering them methodically, her voice calm and reassuring.

Time passed. The crowd, once chaotic, gradually calmed.

By the end, there was no shouting.

No pushing.

Only quiet murmurs and thoughtful expressions.

Watching this transformation, General Luke let out a slow breath he hadn’t realized he was holding.

The tightness in his chest eased slightly.

’She handled that... better than any of us could have...’

His gaze shifted toward Ivana, now filled with unmistakable gratitude.

Meanwhile, Ivana stood there, maintaining her composed expression.

But inside, a faint guilt stirred.

’I’m promoting Silvy Base... right in front of them...’ she thought, her fingers tightening slightly around the megaphone. ’And he doesn’t even realize it...’

Her eyes flickered briefly toward Luke. He looked relieved.

Grateful. Completely unaware.

’If he knew...’ she thought, a small, conflicted smile forming. ’Would he still look at me like that?’

If Luke could hear her thoughts, he would have laughed.

Not out of mockery, but out of sheer disbelief.

Because at this moment, he didn’t care.

Not about territory. Not about influence. Not even about pride.

All he cared about was survival.

’If there’s truly a place safer than this...’ he thought quietly, watching the people who were finally calming down, ’then I would abandon everything without hesitation.’

These days, Ivy had begun to notice a distinct and almost unsettling change in her abilities.

Previously, her strange power had been limited, allowing her to pick up only two different items at a time, and even that had felt like a miracle when it first appeared.

But now, things were different.

Now, she could pick up three different items in a single attempt, and the shift did not stop there.

The timer, which had once been a frustrating limitation, had stretched unnaturally, extending into hours instead of minutes.

Within those four long hours, she could gather as many items as she physically managed.

What disturbed her more, however, was the evolution of what she could collect.

It was no longer limited to simple, edible vegetables as it had been in the beginning.

The range had expanded unpredictably: medicines, clothing, skincare products, and sanitary supplies.

Still, nothing compared to the moment she had accidentally retrieved firearms and ammunition.

"I think... my ability is changing," she murmured to Silas at the time, her voice low and uncertain, almost afraid of its own conclusion.

"It feels like it’s becoming something meant for defense... or maybe something more dangerous."

Silas had only chuckled lightly, as though her concerns were nothing more than passing clouds.

"That sounds like a good thing," he replied, his tone easy, almost teasing. "You shouldn’t worry so much."

Hearing that, Ivy had simply nodded.

As time passed, the population within their base surged rapidly, and the once-manageable environment became increasingly chaotic.

Without hesitation, she began delegating authority, assigning certain areas to her brother and sister in an effort to maintain control.

At one point, she had even considered dividing the base entirely, creating independent territories for them so they could operate freely without depending on her.

However, the idea had been immediately rejected.

"We have no interest in taking what belongs to you," they insisted firmly, their voices unwavering.

Ivy had let out a soft chuckle at that, leaning back slightly as she crossed her arms.

"You make it sound like I’m losing something," she replied. "I can keep expanding. Right now, I practically own land large enough to build an entire city."

Even as she said it, she was aware of the weight of those words. Owning something of that scale was no small matter.

It bordered dangerously close to challenging governmental authority, a fact she could not ignore.

Still, she continued, her voice steady. "Even if I split it into three parts, it wouldn’t be a problem."

But Ember, Kael, and Felix remained firm.

"It still counts as taking advantage of your position," they replied. "We’ll just focus on guarding the areas for now. No need to cross that line."

Though they refused openly, Ivy still went ahead and registered portions of land under their names, unaware that they had already quietly secured control over the regions they monitored.
