Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 670: Wade

Chapter 670: Wade

’She never intended to kill us...?’

Ivy turned to the others, her expression composed.

"The investigation is nearly complete," she announced.

"We just need to locate the last individual, Ariana. Once we capture her... this mission will be over, and humanity can finally stabilize."

A wave of cheers erupted.

Soon after, they began their journey back to the base.

Along the way, they continued curing as many zombies as they could, guiding the newly restored humans back with them.

Days passed.

Then weeks.

Time slipped by almost unnoticed, like sand through fingers.

And gradually... more and more zombies returned to being human, their vacant eyes regaining clarity, their lifeless bodies rediscovering warmth.

The man responsible for using his communication power to contact other bases did not remain idle for even a moment.

’There must be more...,’ he would think, and travel miles to reach other bases.

At this point, Ivy had already expanded her influence across more than ten thousand kilometers surrounding her base.

The sheer scale of it was almost unimaginable, and yet it continued to grow with each passing day.

As her reach extended further, the threat of the zombie virus began to diminish gradually.

Meanwhile, Silas was far from idle.

From the very moment he stepped into Talon Base, a clear and burning purpose had already taken root in his mind.

’Revenge.’

Even though Ivy had never explicitly told him everything, fragments of her past had reached him through dreams.

Sometimes, when he slept beside her, he would be pulled into fleeting visions...moments where she had been humiliated, cornered, and bullied within this very base.

He did not act recklessly.

Instead, Silas began cautiously, blending in like any other ordinary soldier.

He deliberately toned down his presence, making sure the base’s systems and surveillance did not mark him as anything unusual.

Compared to Ivy’s advanced base, Talon Base was far more primitive, lacking sophisticated detection systems. This worked entirely in his favor.

At first, he performed small tasks, moving quietly among the ranks, observing, learning, waiting.

But gradually, things began to change.

When he single-handedly cleared out a large group of zombies during one mission, his abilities could no longer remain hidden.

From that moment on, people began to notice him.

One particular incident solidified his position.

During a mission where Ian was leading a team outside the base, Silas happened to be assigned as one of the guards accompanying him.

What started as a routine operation quickly turned chaotic when a sudden ambush occurred.

In the middle of that chaos, Silas stepped in.

With precise movements and overwhelming force, he eliminated the threats before they could reach Ian.

After that day, Ian’s perception of him changed completely.

Slowly but surely, Ian began paying attention to this unfamiliar yet highly capable individual.

Silas stood out...not just because of his tall and imposing physique, but because of the intensity in his eyes.

Whenever SiIvy Base was mentioned, a faint killing intent would flicker within them, sharp enough to make anyone uneasy.

And his abilities...

They were far beyond ordinary.

Superhuman strength, enhanced speed, heightened hearing, and razor-sharp vision...all of it combined with a terrifying control over thunder itself.

He could summon it, shape it, and restrain it at will, as though it were an extension of his own body.

Recognizing his value, Ian promoted him repeatedly.

Before long, Silas had become one of Ian’s most trusted subordinates.

Meanwhile, Ian had been frequently meeting with Robert.

Recently, a problem had begun to surface...both Ferrero and Jeff had gone completely silent. Communication attempts failed again and again, leading to rising suspicion.

At one point, Ian frowned and muttered, "Do you think... they’re planning to betray us?"

Robert’s expression darkened slightly as he replied, "If that’s the case, then we’ll deal with them accordingly."

However, before they could pursue that line of thought further, shocking news arrived.

Ferrero and Jeff... were dead.

Not only that, the remaining superior beings...Paris and Siya...had been captured.

"And the one responsible..." Robert paused, his eyes narrowing slightly, "is Ivy."

A brief silence followed.

For a moment, admiration flickered across Robert’s face.

’She managed to push them this far... impressive,’ he thought.

But that admiration was quickly buried beneath calculation. ’But she won’t be staying forever.’

Without wasting time, they shifted their focus to a new plan.

Together with Ariana...the last remaining superior being...they decided to open another portal and bring reinforcements to Earth.

Ariana agreed without hesitation.

She had already begun her cultivation.

Unlike others, her method was brutally direct.

She hunted humans.

Using her appearance, she would approach unsuspecting men, her voice soft and inviting, her smile almost hypnotic.

"Come with me," she would whisper gently.

And they would follow.

Moments later... they would disappear.

Her methods were efficient, but she sought even faster growth.

That was why she turned to Robert for support, and he cooperated willingly.

Meanwhile, Ian tried to make himself useful, eager to secure a place in the future world they envisioned.

Ariana seemed satisfied with his contributions. Occasionally, she would glance at him and give a small nod, acknowledging his efforts.

For Ian, even that was enough.

’Soon... everything will belong to us,’ he thought excitedly. ’And Ivy... she’ll be mine as well.’

The thought filled him with twisted anticipation.

However, their attempts to target Ivy had repeatedly failed.

They had once come close to capturing her, but not only did they fail, they also exposed themselves in the process.

Now, they were searching for another weakness.

But there was only one...Silas.

And reaching him was far more difficult than they had anticipated.

Just as frustration began to settle in, a newly recruited soldier named Wade stepped forward.

"Why don’t we target Ivy’s husband?" he suggested, his voice carrying a strange confidence. "If we isolate him, we can trap him."

Ian frowned slightly, shaking his head.

"If it were that easy, we would’ve done it already. You don’t understand... Silas is not someone you can provoke so easily."

But Wade did not back down.
