Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 769: Compensation

Chapter 769: Chapter 769: Compensation

Unfortunately, no matter how many times Tammy attempted to sense its existence, she failed every single time.

Eventually, she arrived at only one possible explanation.

The temporal storage had rejected her; it refused to recognise her as its true owner.

Tammy gritted her teeth. Refusing to give up, she once again picked up Ivy’s travel bag.

For the past five days, she had searched through it repeatedly.

She firmly believed there had to be some hidden treasure concealed somewhere inside.

Yet every search ended in disappointment. Just as hopelessness began creeping into her heart, a sudden thought flashed through her mind.

‘What if…’

She looked at the bag carefully. ‘The secret isn’t inside the compartments at all?’

Without hesitating any longer, she took out a sharp knife. Then she carefully sliced open the inner lining of the bag.

Rip… the fabric separated. The very next second, a jade bracelet quietly slipped out.

Tammy’s pupils immediately contracted. For several seconds, she simply stared blankly. Then overwhelming excitement flooded her face.

“I…”

Her breathing became hurried. “I finally found it!”

Her hands trembled uncontrollably. Without wasting another second, she bit her fingertip.

A droplet of bright red blood slowly emerged. She carefully allowed it to fall onto the jade bracelet.

The blood was instantly absorbed.

Buzz… the jade suddenly emitted a soft emerald glow. The surrounding space distorted violently.

Before Tammy could react, an invisible force pulled her inside.

The world spun. When everything finally stabilized, Tammy slowly opened her eyes.

She found herself standing inside a completely different world. Fresh grass gently swayed beneath her feet.

A refreshing breeze brushed against her face. The air felt incomparably pure.

Above her stretched an endless sky filled with soft white clouds. The entire place radiated tranquillity.

Tammy looked around in complete disbelief. Then, joy completely overwhelmed her. “I did it!”

She laughed loudly. “I finally did it! I have my own temporal storage!”

Her excited laughter echoed throughout the peaceful landscape.

As she celebrated wildly, a sudden realization struck her. The smile on her face became even wider.

‘The temporal storage can grow crops. If I can cultivate food inside this place, then won’t I control the livelihood of the entire Astra Planet? Even the royal family would have to rely on me.’

The thought alone made her heart race.

Immediately afterward, Tammy exited the temporal storage.

The emerald light faded. She once again found herself standing inside her room.

Without wasting another moment, she hurried outside. Coco was still sitting quietly, lost in her own thoughts.

Tammy barely spared her a glance.

Instead, she walked directly toward the storage section containing various plant seeds.

She immediately began collecting handful after handful. Seeing this unusual behavior, Coco finally stood up.

She walked over before gently blocking Tammy’s path. Forcing a polite smile onto her face, she asked,

“Tammy, may I ask what’s going on?”

Tammy slowly narrowed her eyes. Her expression instantly turned cold. “How dare you question me?”

An overwhelming pressure burst from her body. Coco instinctively lowered her head.

Cold sweat trickled down her back. Seeing that reaction, Tammy was momentarily stunned.

Then, a satisfied smile gradually appeared on her face.

It seemed her fusion with Ivy’s body was progressing better than she expected.

Even the natural aura of superiority carried by Ivy’s bloodline had begun manifesting.

Meanwhile, Coco silently clenched her fists. After gathering her courage, she carefully spoke again.

“I was only wondering…”

She hesitated briefly. “Did you… perhaps obtain Ivy’s temporal storage as well?”

Tammy’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately understood what Coco was implying.

Truthfully, even before today, Coco had subtly hinted several times that if Nanami obtained Ivy’s soul and Tammy inherited Ivy’s body, then Ivy’s Temporal Storage should naturally belong to her.

Now, she was no longer hinting. She was directly asking. It was obvious.

Coco wanted the temporal storage for herself. Tammy quickly concealed every trace of panic.

She smiled naturally. “Do you honestly believe I could obtain the temporal storage?”

She casually picked up another pouch of seeds. “These seeds aren’t for that.”

She shrugged.

“I’m planning to study them. Once I learn how to cultivate them properly, I’ll create hybrid versions.”

She calmly continued,

“When Princess Rayami eventually confronts me, I’ll at least have something valuable to negotiate with. That way, my chances of surviving will be much higher.”

Hearing that explanation, Coco fell silent.

For just a brief moment, doubt flickered across her eyes.

She carefully looked at Tammy before softly asking, “…Are you sure?”

When Tammy nodded confidently, Coco let out a quiet sigh before forcing a small smile. “Alright.”

She gave a slight nod. “Then I’ll believe you.”

After a brief pause, she suddenly remembered something. “Oh, right.”

She looked toward Tammy. “I’m planning to make spaghetti for dinner tonight.”

Her expression softened. “Is that alright with you?”

Tammy’s face immediately brightened. Her eyes curved into crescents as she flashed a cheerful grin. “Of course!”

She clasped her hands together excitedly. “Thank you so much. You’re amazing, Coco.”

Without waiting for another response, Tammy happily turned around and walked away. Coco quietly watched her leave.

She didn’t say another word. Instead, she silently made her way toward the kitchen.

The aroma of fresh vegetables and seasonings already lingered faintly in the air as she began preparing dinner.

Meanwhile, Tammy hurried back into her room. After locking the door behind her, she immediately entered the Temporal Storage.

The familiar emerald light flashed before she appeared inside the peaceful grassy world. Without wasting any time, she took out the packet of seeds.

Just as she was about to scatter them onto the soil, a calm mechanical voice echoed throughout the empty space.

[Seeds cannot currently be grown inside the Temporal Storage.]

Tammy immediately stopped. She quickly looked around in every direction. A smile slowly spread across her face.

“So, you’ve finally decided to speak.”

She looked toward the endless sky. “Tell me. Are you Ivy’s Temporal Storage?”

For a brief moment, only silence answered her. Then the same emotionless voice echoed once again.

[Greetings. I am the Temporal Storage.]

Tammy’s eyes immediately sparkled with excitement. She clenched her fists in delight. ‘I knew it!’

The voice continued calmly, “You cannot cultivate crops because your current authority level is insufficient.”

Tammy didn’t appear disappointed. Instead, she simply smiled. “No problem.”

She waved her hand casually. “I won’t try growing the seeds for now.”

Then her curiosity quickly resurfaced.

“So, what mission do I need to complete before I’m allowed to grow food?”

The answer came almost instantly. [You are not required to complete difficult missions.]

Tammy blinked. The voice calmly continued,

[Simply perform kind deeds. You will gradually accumulate Karma Points. Karma Points can then be exchanged for various functions and resources.]

Tammy’s eyes widened. “So simple?”

She couldn’t help sounding surprised. After speaking, the entire space fell silent once more. Receiving no further response, Tammy naturally understood.

That silence itself was the answer. Meanwhile, in another part of the base, Gwen stood in front of Felix with both arms crossed over her chest.

A playful smile rested on her lips. Felix, however, looked completely helpless. “Gwen…”

He rubbed his forehead. “Don’t you think you’re asking for a little too much?”

Gwen merely chuckled. “Too much?”

She raised an eyebrow. “I don’t think so. You’ve stolen so many years of my youth. You practically scared away every single one of my admirers.”

Her expression gradually became more dramatic. “So isn’t it only fair that you compensate me? That’s the very least you owe me.”

Then she narrowed her eyes. “Not to mention, the disgusting stunt you pulled by finding yourself a substitute.”

Felix immediately frowned. His fists subconsciously tightened. “How many times do I have to tell you?”

His voice became noticeably firmer. “Annie isn’t anyone’s substitute.”

Hearing the anger in his voice, Gwen simply pursed her lips. “Whatever. So, are you going to help me or not?”

Felix remained silent for several moments before finally sighing. “Fine. If you really want compensation, you may use my name. Use it to earn as much profit as you can.”

“But there are conditions. You are never allowed to cross the bottom line. You cannot bully innocent people. And you absolutely cannot accept bribes.”

Gwen’s grin immediately widened. “Relax. I’m not stupid enough to destroy my own future.”

Satisfied with the outcome, she turned around and prepared to leave.

However, the moment she reached the doorway, another familiar figure walked inside. Annie.

The instant Gwen saw her, she rolled her eyes dramatically. “Loser.”

Hearing that mocking remark, Annie merely laughed. “Are you talking about yourself?”

Gwen smirked. “No. I was obviously talking about you.”

She folded her arms proudly. “You know, you can keep the man.”

She smiled arrogantly. “I’ll happily take the connections. So what if I lost simply because I arrived late?”

She shrugged carelessly.

“You can’t deny that money, influence, and powerful connections are far more valuable than any man in this world.”

After saying those words, she walked away without looking back. Watching Gwen disappear down the hallway, Annie rolled her eyes.

“She definitely has some kind of illness.”

She let out a helpless sigh. “Otherwise, how could anyone say something that brain-dead with such confidence?”
