Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 768: Doubts

Chapter 768: Chapter 768: Doubts

Cold metal dug painfully into his wrists and ankles. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t move.

Standing before him was a woman. Her face remained blurred, as though hidden beneath a thick layer of mist.

Yet one thing was crystal clear. She was merciless. Again and again, she mercilessly beat him.

Each strike sent unbearable pain coursing through his body. Patrick screamed in agony.

His desperate cries echoed endlessly through the empty darkness. “I’ll kill you! I’ll definitely take revenge on you!”

The mysterious woman merely laughed. Her voice was filled with arrogance. “Really? Go ahead. Let’s see whether you’re actually capable of taking revenge.”

The next punch landed heavily against his body. Patrick suddenly jolted awake.

His entire body was drenched in cold sweat. His heart pounded violently inside his chest.

“Who… who exactly is that woman?”

He rubbed his aching forehead.

‘Was she one of my enemies before the apocalypse? Or, was she someone I kept imprisoned?’

The more he thought about it, the more confused he became.

Meanwhile, far away from the SiIvy Base…

Someone else was equally confused. Princess Rayami.

At that very moment, she sat alone inside her luxurious bedroom. The entire room was decorated in elegant shades of pink.

Expensive crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Silken curtains gently swayed with the breeze flowing through the open balcony.

A beautifully carved vanity mirror stood before her. Rayami quietly gazed at her own reflection.

She slowly raised her slender hand and gently touched her flawless skin. Then, she closed her eyes.

“Tammy… Tammy… Where are you?”

She continuously attempted to establish a mental connection.

Several minutes passed and nothing happened.

Finally, Rayami slowly opened her eyes. Her expression had already become frighteningly cold.

“Don’t tell me, you’ve betrayed me, Tammy.”

A dangerous killing intent flashed across her beautiful face.

“Because if that’s truly the case, the day you return, I’ll personally make sure it’s your last day alive.”

Just then… Knock. Knock.

Someone gently knocked on the bedroom door.

Taking a slow breath, Rayami instantly concealed every trace of hostility.

A graceful smile appeared on her face. She calmly walked toward the entrance before opening the door.

Outside stood one of the palace maids. The young maid respectfully lowered her head. “Princess Rayami.”

She spoke politely.

“His Majesty has begun the royal council meeting. King Hugo has requested your presence.”

Raya Mi smiled elegantly. “I understand.”

Without another word, she gracefully made her way toward the meeting hall.

The royal palace was enormous.

Every corridor shimmered with advanced technology far beyond anything found on Earth.

Transparent energy panels illuminated the walls.

Floating holographic displays silently transmitted information throughout the palace.

Everything reflected the incredible technological superiority of their civilization.

When Rayami finally entered the grand meeting chamber, every important figure had already gathered.

She respectfully greeted each council member. Then she greeted the ten Hier… who also happened to be her ten siblings.

Finally, her gaze settled upon the man seated upon the magnificent throne. King Hugo.

He appeared to be nothing more than a middle-aged man. His skin was remarkably fair.

His deep silver eyes seemed capable of swallowing a person’s soul with a single glance.

Long silver hair rested elegantly upon his shoulders. Despite being over three hundred years old, he looked astonishingly youthful.

Rayami immediately lowered her head. “Princess Rayami greets the brightest star, the guiding galaxy of our entire universe.”

King Hugo smiled gently.

“You may rise.”

“Thank you, Father.”

Rayami gracefully took her seat.

The moment she did, her ten siblings silently shot her mocking glances.

Their expressions practically screamed, ‘Was all of that really necessary?’

After all, royal children weren’t required to greet their own father with such elaborate formalities.

Because Rayami had done so, it unintentionally made everyone else appear less respectful.

Naturally, none of them appreciated it. King Hugo paid little attention to their silent competition.

Instead, he calmly addressed everyone. “We’ve recently received new information. It concerns one of our own. She is a hybrid.”

He paused briefly.

“However, she possesses an exceptionally pure bloodline. We have yet to reach a final decision. Should we eliminate her immediately… or should we attempt to recruit her instead?”

The instant those words were spoken, Rayami quietly lowered her gaze.

Until now, every superior being sent to Earth had been arranged through her own secret schemes.

King Hugo only became aware of Earth’s existence after Ferrero attempted to open the portal and requested reinforcements.

Even now, he still had no idea that Rayami had secretly used her own influence to send even more of her personal subordinates.

Her goal had always been the same. Kill Ivy. Before anyone else discovered her true value.

If Ivy disappeared, then based purely on bloodline compatibility, Rayami herself would become the strongest candidate to inherit the throne.

However, after witnessing Ivy’s terrifying talent, her rapid growth, and the bloodline pressure she had, Rayami had reached only one conclusion.

‘Ivy must die. If she survives, the throne will never belong to me.’

She had abused every bit of authority she possessed.

Now, King Hugo calmly requested everyone’s opinions one by one.

Each council member gave their own thoughts. Then the ten heirs began expressing their views.

The longer Rayami listened, the more uneasy she became. Almost no one supported killing Ivy.

Most believed that keeping someone with such extraordinary bloodline alive would bring far greater benefits to their race.

Rayami quietly gritted her teeth beneath her calm smile.

Inside, she desperately prayed for the meeting to end as quickly as possible.

Only then, could she attempt to contact Tammy once again.

Meanwhile, Tammy had her own worries.

She was currently residing inside the massive spaceship they had completed constructing just a month ago.

Now that they had left Earth, the enormous vessel drifted silently through the endless darkness of space.

Beyond the thick observation windows, countless stars shimmered like scattered diamonds across an infinite black ocean.

Inside, however, the atmosphere was strangely quiet.

Every single day, Tammy devoted herself to increasing the compatibility between her consciousness and Ivy’s body.

She sat cross-legged inside her private chamber, circulating her energy over and over again.

Yet, for some unknown reason, something kept blocking her progress. No matter how hard she tried, the compatibility only increased at an agonizingly slow pace.

She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Is this Ivy’s body’s natural defense mechanism? Or… Is it the bloodline rejecting me?’

The more she cultivated, the more irritated she became. At the same time, a strange sense of uneasiness quietly crept into her heart.

Everything had gone far too smoothly. That alone made her suspicious. ‘Something isn’t right. What exactly are we missing? Is this… truly Ivy’s body?’

The thought had crossed her mind countless times. However, every time she questioned it, another fact immediately crushed her doubts.

Nanami. Tammy had personally witnessed Nanami’s terrifying increase in strength. It wasn’t something that could be faked.

There was absolutely no way Nanami hadn’t absorbed Ivy’s soul. Furthermore, this body looked almost identical to Ivy’s original appearance.

Every feature matched perfectly. The evidence all pointed toward one conclusion.

This truly was Ivy’s body. Still, that uncomfortable feeling refused to disappear. While continuing her cultivation, another person suddenly came to mind.

Princess Rayami. Tammy instinctively clenched her fists. A trace of fear flashed across her face.

She knew very well that the moment Princess Rayami discovered her betrayal, there was an extremely high chance she would execute Tammy without the slightest hesitation.

Even so, Tammy slowly took a deep breath. ‘I’ve already gambled everything. Now isn’t the time to be afraid.’

Gritting her teeth, she completely ignored every attempt Princess Rayami made to contact her.

Meanwhile, Coco silently observed Tammy every single day. The longer she watched, the more bitterness accumulated inside her heart.

‘Why…? Why is it always like this?’

She had contributed just as much as Tammy and Nanami. She had risked her own life alongside them.

Yet, when the rewards were distributed, Nanami obtained Ivy’s soul and Tammy obtained Ivy’s body.

But what about her? Wasn’t she part of the team as well? Shouldn’t she have received something too?

Even a small reward would have been enough. Instead, she received absolutely nothing.

Not even a promise. Her fingers slowly curled into tight fists. The resentment inside her heart quietly grew stronger.

Her eyes gradually darkened. Various thoughts continuously swirled through her mind.

No one knew exactly what she was planning.

However, judging from the dangerous look in her eyes, it certainly wasn’t anything good.

Several hours later, Tammy finally completed that day’s cultivation.

She slowly stretched her stiff body before standing up. Turning toward Coco, she casually said, “I’m going back to my room.”

Coco silently nodded. Without another word, Tammy walked away.

After entering her room, she immediately locked the door behind her. Then she walked straight toward a large storage box placed in the corner.

Ever since obtaining Ivy’s body, Tammy had been certain of one thing.

If Ivy’s body had arrived, then her temporal storage should have accompanied it as well.
