Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 798: Two Boyfriend?

Chapter 798: Chapter 798: Two Boyfriend?

Danielle laughed softly.

“If it were simply about you liking him, then honestly, it would not have been a problem. The real problem is that you liked him, misled the person he actually likes, and even went as far as switching the letters so that the message he had written would reach the wrong girl.”

The moment Danielle finished speaking, Angel’s face flushed with anger. “You are lying! He loves me!”

Before she could continue, a cold voice suddenly echoed through the office. “However, I do not remember ever liking you.”

Everyone turned toward the entrance.

Asher walked inside with a cold expression on his face. The atmosphere in the entire office instantly became still, and for a moment, no one dared to make a sound.

Aqua, who was standing beside Angel, felt her stomach sink. She suddenly regretted everything.

Previously, she had been arrogant enough to bully Danielle because she had assumed Danielle had no one powerful enough to back her. Now, however, it appeared that she had offended the wrong person entirely.

‘If only this bitch had not dragged me into her business. I would never have believed her lies or made things difficult for my future boss.’

As Aqua silently cursed Angel, Danielle walked toward Asher. “What are you doing here? Did I not tell you that I would handle this matter?”

Asher raised an eyebrow.

“Someone almost sabotaged my proposal, and you expect me to sit around like an idiot? If I did that, I would truly deserve to be shot, and I would have no one to blame but myself.”

Hearing those words, Danielle could not help but smile. Meanwhile, Angel’s eyes widened.

Asher was still as beautiful as she remembered him being, but the years had changed him. His features had become sharper, his presence colder, and there was an undeniable authority in the way he carried himself.

She stared at him almost helplessly. Asher’s gaze eventually settled on her. “Do you not think your love is a little too cheap?”

Angel’s face immediately turned pale. “Asher, even if you do not like me, you cannot insult my love.”

Asher calmly interrupted her.

“Yes, I can ask you to stop admiring me when your admiration becomes an inconvenience. I cannot stop you from having feelings, but I can certainly stop you when those feelings begin harming me and the people around me.”

With that, he turned toward the entire office. “You all witnessed what she did, did you not?”

The office fell silent. Then someone cautiously answered, “Yes.”

One person nodded, followed by another, until almost everyone in the office confirmed what they had witnessed.

Asher smiled faintly. “Then, as punishment, I am removing her from this office. Does anyone have a problem with that?”

No one spoke.

“Or are you going to say that I am abusing my power? If an employee believes she has enough authority to intercept and switch her employer’s personal letters, just imagine what kind of problems she could cause with actual official documents.”

The moment he said those words, everyone understood the implication.

If Angel could become jealous over something as insignificant as a romantic relationship and secretly switch important letters, what would happen if she ever became jealous over an actual military matter?

A single altered document could affect an entire operation. A single intercepted message could put countless people at risk.

The employees exchanged glances before their eyes slowly shifted toward Angel. This time, their expressions were no longer sympathetic.

They were resentful. Angel clenched her fists so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

She stared at Asher with reddened eyes. “Was it really necessary to drag me through the mud like this, Asher?”

Asher gave a quiet chuckle. “You were the one who started this first.”

Angel’s eyes immediately filled with tears. “You know what? I will just complain to Aunt.”

With that, she turned around and ran out of the office. Asher simply watched her disappear.

After a moment, he shook his head and murmured, “How did she become even worse than she used to be?”

Danielle could not help but look at him curiously. “Asher, why did you choose me instead of her? She is so beautiful.”

Danielle was not lying.

From her perspective, Angel was undeniably beautiful. If Danielle had been a man, she honestly believed that she might have chosen Angel over herself.

Asher chuckled.

He could not explain his entire history with Angel to Danielle because she had not lived through any of it.

From a young age, Asher had met plenty of beautiful people. Over time, however, he had learned that beauty could sometimes hide a disturbing cruelty.

Angel was a perfect example. She was beautiful, and her name was Angel, but Asher had personally witnessed the way she bullied other girls.

He had seen her make bets about boys and even heard her casually discuss which boy she would sleep with next as though it were nothing more than a game.

When she first began showing interest in him, Asher had not thought much of it. But everything changed when she started using increasingly dirty methods to get his attention.

That was when he had finally reached his limit. He had exposed her in front of everyone, and he had never regretted doing so.

Even now, while remembering those things, Asher glanced toward Danielle. She was still waiting patiently for his answer.

Asher chuckled.

“What can I say? I recently had my eyes checked and discovered that I apparently need glasses. Perhaps if I start wearing them, I will finally be able to give more beautiful girls a chance.”

Danielle’s eyes widened. She immediately slapped his arm. “Sure enough, I was right. You really do love her more!”

With that, she turned around and marched away. Asher watched her leave before bursting into laughter.

Years later, when Danielle eventually became much fairer and even more beautiful, Asher would deeply regret those words.

Whenever someone asked Danielle what she had ever seen in Asher, she would calmly reply, “I forgot to wear my glasses, so I ended up liking him. I will get new lenses soon and change my taste.”

Meanwhile, Asher eventually arrived at Danielle’s house.

Danielle had been furious enough to ignore him for the entire day, and the thought made Asher smile despite himself.

However, the moment he arrived, he saw Jackson standing nearby. Asher’s good mood instantly disappeared.

Jackson had not noticed him at first, but the moment he turned around and saw Asher, his expression changed.

He quickly walked over with a polite smile. “Sir, what are you doing here?”

Asher chuckled. “That should be the question I am asking you.”

Jackson immediately straightened up. “I am here to meet my girlfriend.”

Asher froze. For a moment, it felt as though the entire world had stopped turning. He slowly looked at Jackson.

“Which girlfriend are you talking about?”

Jackson pointed toward Danielle’s house. “Danielle is my girlfriend.”

Asher stared at him. “Oh, really?”

His voice had become dangerously calm. “Since when?”

Jackson answered without hesitation. “We have been in a serious relationship for two years.”

Asher stared at him for several seconds before giving him an incredulous look. “Did you ever consider fact-checking before you started lying?”

Jackson froze. “Sir, what are you talking about? I do not understand.”

Asher let out a low laugh. ‘Truly, I must have entered some kind of office-luck nightmare.’

Otherwise, how could his letter have been intercepted, and how could his girlfriend have suddenly gained a new boyfriend whom even he knew nothing about?

Asher took a deep breath, forcing himself to maintain his temper. The irritation simmering beneath his calm expression was becoming increasingly difficult to suppress.

“I will give you ten minutes. Just leave from here and do not appear in front of me again.”

With that, he turned around and walked toward Danielle’s room before entering the house.

When Jackson saw Asher walking into Danielle’s home, his eyes widened.

For a moment, he felt as though someone had driven a knife straight through his heart. It was not because he was jealous of Asher.

Instead, what truly bothered him was the realization that Danielle seemed to be doing so well without him.

‘How can she be doing this well when I am no longer beside her?’

The thought was difficult for him to accept.

For a brief moment, he almost wanted to rush forward and bang on Danielle’s door, demanding an explanation. However, just before he could act on his anger, he remembered his real motive and forced himself to stop.

‘Not yet. I cannot ruin everything now.’

With that thought, Jackson swallowed his resentment and stepped away.
