Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 805: Dinner

Chapter 805: Chapter 805: Dinner

Angel took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain patient.

“Just do it, Aqua. Remember, once you agree, you will become extremely rich.”

Aqua thought about it for a moment before shaking her head.

“That is a hard pass.”

With that, she turned around and left.

The moment Aqua disappeared from her sight, Angel began stomping her feet in frustration.

She had originally thought that convincing Aqua would be easy because the two of them had once been friends.

However, things were clearly becoming much more difficult than she had anticipated.

‘Why is she being so stubborn?’

Just as she was thinking about what to do next, she suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder.

Angel immediately turned around and saw Jackson standing behind her. She sighed and shook her head.

“It seems that we will have to make a modification.”

Jackson’s eyes narrowed slightly before he nodded. “All right.”

That evening, Danielle left the office and headed toward the entrance. The cool evening air brushed against her face as she walked through the corridor, but the moment she reached the entrance, she came across Angel.

Danielle immediately frowned.

Before she could say anything else, Angel suddenly knelt directly in front of her.

“Danielle, please hear me out before you start hitting me. I truly have no choice but to use this method.”

Danielle’s brows furrowed in confusion. “First, stand up. Do not make a scene.”

As she spoke, Danielle quickly glanced around the entrance.

She was genuinely worried that someone might see the scene and later use it to morally blackmail her or spread unnecessary rumors.

Angel immediately stood up.

“I do not want to make things difficult for you, all right? I will make it quick. I wanted to invite you to a restaurant for a meal. Once you have eaten, we can go our separate ways.”

Danielle was about to reject the invitation when Angel continued with a bitter smile.

“I am planning to leave this place. Before I go, I want to apologize to everyone I have wronged, and you are one of them. So please, consider my request.”

A brief silence followed.

Danielle studied Angel carefully, trying to determine whether there was some hidden motive behind her words. Eventually, she sighed.

“You know what? Let us go.”

Angel’s face immediately brightened.

“Thank you so much, Danielle. You are truly amazing. I promise I will not make your time miserable anymore.”

Danielle remained silent, merely giving her a suspicious glance.

Later that evening, the two of them arrived at a restaurant for dinner.

Angel formally apologised to Danielle and even insisted several times that she should eat more.

Danielle frowned at her enthusiasm. Something about Angel’s behavior felt too unnatural.

‘Why is she being this considerate all of a sudden?’

Although the restaurant appeared completely normal and the aroma of the food was inviting, Danielle never lowered her guard.

She even suspected that the food might have been tampered with.

Therefore, before eating anything herself, she carefully watched Angel eat first.

Only after noticing that Angel showed no signs of discomfort did Danielle finally begin eating.

However, shortly after finishing her meal, an unpleasant sensation suddenly spread through her stomach.

Her body grew hot, and a wave of nausea rose through her throat. Her vision seemed to blur slightly as an unfamiliar weakness spread through her limbs.

Danielle’s eyes widened.

She immediately looked at Angel.

“You betrayed me?”

Angel chuckled softly.

“I was never your friend, so I did not betray you. However, I do indeed want to show you a little something. For now, you should simply accept it.”

Danielle clenched her fist so tightly that her nails dug into her palm. A sharp sting followed, and tiny drops of blood began to seep from the wounds.

‘I will not lose consciousness.’

With that thought keeping her focused, Danielle quickly pulled out her phone.

The moment Angel saw it, she reached out and tried to snatch it away.

However, Danielle had been trained for quite some time.

Having served her ex’s parents for so many years and constantly running around while carrying out various tasks, she had developed considerably more strength and muscle than an ordinary woman.

She quickly pulled the phone away from Angel and dialed Asher’s number. But the call did not connect.

Danielle tried again. Still nothing.

Even while struggling to maintain her balance, she attempted to call him repeatedly, but the connection refused to go through.

Her heart sank. ‘Why is he not answering?’

Just as she desperately wondered what she should do, another number suddenly caught her attention.

It was Aqua’s number.

Only that morning, Aqua had placed breakfast on Danielle’s table and had even left her phone number.

“If you ever have any problem in the future, you can contact me.”

Remembering those words, Danielle quickly entered Aqua’s number and tried to call her.

However, Angel continued interfering, repeatedly reaching for the phone and making it difficult for Danielle to complete the call.

Finally, the call connected.

Danielle immediately spoke, her voice strained by the weakness spreading through her body.

“Aqua, help me. Go and inform Asher that I am in danger. I am near this restaurant.”

While speaking, Danielle suddenly noticed Angel moving toward her with determination.

She immediately understood that Angel was now hell-bent on dragging her somewhere else.

‘I cannot let her take me anywhere.’

Danielle turned and began running.

Meanwhile, Angel deeply regretted not bringing someone else with her.

‘If I had brought someone along, Danielle would never have been able to escape.’

The entire plan was beginning to collapse.

The task of drugging Danielle had already been completed, but if Danielle managed to escape and alert Asher, everything would become a complete failure.

Just as Angel was thinking about this, she suddenly saw Danielle running away.

Her eyes widened, and she immediately chased after her.

“Danielle, stop!”

Angel accelerated, desperately trying to catch up with her.

However, before she could reach Danielle, Danielle had already gained a considerable distance from her.

Angel almost cursed from frustration, but she suddenly stopped when she saw Jackson approaching from the same direction in which Danielle had been running.

Her eyes widened slightly as she watched Jackson step directly in front of Danielle and block her path.

The commotion had already attracted the attention of several people inside and outside the restaurant. A few of them were beginning to whisper among themselves, while others looked ready to intervene.

However, before anyone could say anything, Jackson quickly raised his voice.

“I’m sorry, she is my girlfriend, and she is making a bit of a fuss. Please do not mind her.”

With that, he turned toward Danielle and leaned closer, lowering his voice so that only she could hear him. “Let me take you away from here.”

Danielle frowned suspiciously, but the moment she heard Angel’s approaching footsteps behind her, she realized that she had no better option.

She quickly nodded.”All right.”

Jackson immediately guided her away from the restaurant.

Soon, Jackson and Danielle arrived near Jackson’s home. The moment Danielle recognized the surroundings, an uneasy feeling settled in her stomach.

‘Something is wrong.’

Her dizziness had become worse, and her limbs felt increasingly heavy. When Jackson tried to guide her inside, she suddenly began struggling.

“Stop. Do not touch me.”

Jackson immediately stepped back and raised both hands. “Calm down, calm down. I am not planning to take advantage of you.”

Danielle stared at him suspiciously before slowly exhaling. “If you truly do not plan to do anything to me, then let me go.”

Jackson nodded. “All right. I will drop you at your house.”

Danielle felt a small sense of relief.

It seemed that, at least tonight, Jackson had not been part of the original plan. Whatever Angel had arranged, Jackson appeared to have his own motives.

After Jackson eventually dropped her outside her own home, Danielle heaved a long sigh of relief. She turned toward him, her face still pale from the lingering effects of the drug.

“Jackson, thank you so much. I will remember this favor.”

Jackson smiled faintly.

“I understand, but Danielle, at least tell me what is going on. I am feeling worried. Even though I was a scumbag in the past, I would not go as far as watching you remain in danger.”

Danielle’s breathing was becoming increasingly unsteady.

“Can you alert Asher for me? I only want to talk to him. I can trust him now.”

Hearing those words, Jackson’s expression became tense.

He nodded after a moment.

“All right. Give me your phone.”
